  1. Jack Van Burace
  2.
  3. Tick, tock. Tick, tock. The time passed by as a cold breeze denoted the harsh embrace of the Zenon mountains. This mountain range was, more often than not, considered as sacred grounds by the Baskar people due to the Guardian statue located on the summit. Naturally, the cold temperatures that were felt up there made it hard for pilgrims, devouts and zealots to reach the holy symbol. However, it wasn't the mountain which held the most importance to these people, but the statue itself. Within the material which the sculpture was comprised of rested one of the three heart pieces of the dark queen, Mother. Of course, only a select few knew of this, and Jack was one of these people. He and his friends had traveled to the top of the mountain once in order to prevent the demons from gaining that heart piece. Although it was in vain, for the demon Belselk got there before Jack's party, thus freeing the relic inside, Jack gained the power of the Guardian.
  4.
  5. And now, in one of the various snow-covered clearings in the middle of the rocky area, he had ran into trouble. A powerful aura signature lingered about the place, possibly pertaining to one of the demons he had fought years ago. It seemed unlikely. Rudy, Cecilia and him had already defeated them all, so he assumed it was a different enemy. With a light tap of his left hand's fingers on the slightly curved metal sheath in where his Arctic Blade resided, the former treasure hunter scoured the surroundings. His emerald gaze shifted continuously as his trenchcoat was caressed by another stream of wind. Hanpan, the wind mouse and Jack's friend, snuggled in the right pocket of the attire while embracing the rune of Moa Gault, the Guardian of fire. It seemed the eagle-shaped entity had heard their shivering, for with a small amount of power, the air around them began to heat up, and so did they. "Handy." Jack whispered to himself as he awaited for whatever monster that lurked out there to appear before him.

  9. < Compensating for snow-shoes, He relied on sheer determination. traveling light-footed through the binding snow was a tedious task, the risk of falling off the summit would kill a man. Due to the slippery rock beneath, and the factor of loose snow, he'd been fed up with the destination, although worthy of rewards to be reaped, the outcome of great distance. Kensei was more hot-headed, straight forward, but paralell in attitude. Just the crisp air that settled in the pit of his lungs enraged him, the burning of thick cold condensed on his tounge, thickened his mouth with saliva. Though the journey was increasingly long, and detriment to health from lack of rest, he'd plow on. Even his attire made the harsh kiss of breeze worsen. Grasping against the torso was a satin blue combat shirt, one mainly used in combat. Upon the legs, loosely kempt were oliva-drab cargo pants, those which resembled the human militaries fatigues, but the warming combat boots were the only comfort save the hands, fingerless gloves stained in bright orange; mocking the opening warmth of the rising sun, which gazed upon his facial features, cream flesh, reflection above was a short crop of unkempt white hair. Unnerved past sanity, Kensei was devoured by a chill, but not cold, not weather, not the searing breeze; outstanding power peirced the man.
  10.
  11. Almost as fast as his eyes were concealed by his lids, the right appendages attached to his torso dropped, the index interlaced the loop-ring of Tachikaze, fingering it at ease, he'd bailsong it within the air before kneeling the handle firm. CQC confirmation grip on the hilt. He'd stand transfixed at a large ruined statue, the emmition of the aura. Another soul intrigued him, one near, within his very vicinity. Kensei heeled backward, planting his soles firm within the snow, then dropping semi-prone. Oculi shifting left to right, deep hues of tan, jewels in the dull coloration of the area; save the sun-rise, tweeked in spin, a reconnaissance of his surroundings. >

  13. Jack Van Burace
  14.
  15. A few steps forward took the figure of Jack Van Burace towards the middle of the snowy clearing. A sudden burst of heat expelled from his figure, thanks to the spiritual link which he had forged with the fire rune of Moa Gault, allowed him to melt the snow approximately five feet around his current location, making it easier for him to stand his ground. Another tap of his left hand's fingers upon the metallic sheath, which was attached to the leather belt around his combat pants, sent a kinetic pulse down the length of the case, and the blade inside vibrated slightly. These vibrations produced a series of ultrasonic sounds which acted as a sonar of sorts, naturally allowing Jack to pinpoint the exact location of his opponent with uncanny precision. Exactly a hundred and two meters to the northwest, right behind a small natural formation of snow covered rocks; there lay his opponent.
  16.
  17. From what the sonar was able to tell him, the enemy possessed some sort of weapon in his hand, possibly a blade of sorts, though he was not entirely sure about it. Aside from that, there was an everpresent pressure about his being, as if emanating from himself. This didn't disturb Jack in the least, since he had had to deal with worse in the past. Brief images of him fighting the demons of lore crossed his mind before he tucked them away back in their rightful place; the deepest reaches of his thoughts. He needed to focus upon the situation at hand, and probably waiting right in the midst of the area would be the best option if he wanted the other entity to come and find him.
  18.
  19. "Yo! Get the hell out here, I'm waiting!" Jack shouted. And what a mistake he had just made. The snow near the summit of the mountain began to fall. At first, it was just a small portion of frost, but as the seconds passed, he realized it was worse than he had expected. Several avalanches were produced in random areas throughout the mountain range; two of these areas being the easternmost side of the clearing, and the zone where the other entity was located. Jack had an ace up his sleeve in case the snow got too close to himself, but he had no idea what the monster could do.

  22.
  23. < Kensei's recon game rewards. Roughly One hundred meters Northeast of his position stand an anonymous figure, but his attention was draw in perfection; Kensei's exact resting. Abruptly, the specimen howled, then fear struck the posessive emotion, then the unexpected ripple of panic followed by a freight rush of thunder. peering toward the right flank he'd notice the slope shrouded by powered fog which seemed to tumbled down the summit, as if tidal to a beach. Kensei had no moment for pause, he'd heave from the palms, knead the slippery rocks below before savoring gain; shuttling forth from the zone of impact, he'd dart straight north, a large clearing prayed his arrival with haste. Bounding in gait, his speeds were nearley maximum, which caused the rocks to foil below, snow seemed to melt per footfall by sheer friction.
  24.
  25. Instantaneously he'd leap from the snow, skywards he'd rush; teleporting speed to untrained eyes as the manifested afterimage split into variable creases in the wake of his launch, even the ground below cringed from his sumersault. he'd appeal eighty-seven feet within the sky, skidding across the thin air like tarmac. He'd twist upon the combat's heel -- the right sole gaining weight upon an anonymous surface, which really was mere spiritual energy. Tachikaze leaked into the atmosphere with the pressure that consumed hsi vicinity, halting the very fall of snow around his constructure, by total of twelve feet. Tan jewels took hold of the anonymous specimen below, still sixy good yards toward the left of himself, surely devoured by the rushing avalanche in seconds. >

  28.
  29. As the enemy began its movements, Jack merely fell back into the Fast Draw stance. This was achieved by sliding his right foot in front of his body, supporting most of his body's weight, while the left leg remained behind. Simultaneously, the right hand's fingers would hover above the hilt of his Arctic Blade while the left hand's ones coiled around the sheath with only the thumb applying a small amount of pressure upon the hand guard of the weapon in order to draw the blade past the point of friction. In turn, a small portion of the beautiful clear edge could be seen, even from afar. Now, if Jack had done nothing, the incoming rush of snow would most likely have eaten him up, but this is not what was going to happen. Once again, the spiritual link with Moa Gault was made manifest when the air around the ex-treasure hunter began to overheat. Sparks of fire appeared all around his figure as the rocky ground started to exhibit shimmering crimson lines upon its surface.
  30.
  31. With nothing more than a tiny amount of concentration in order for the guardian to enact his presence in this plane, a dome of fire which encompassed five square feet around Jack met the snow head on. It was just like watching a nova in its earlier stages, if you removed the steam produced by the collision of heat and cold, that is. All in all, when the mountain returned to its slumber, the flare dome sank into the earth as more steam arose from within the snow that remained. Naturally, seven square feet around Jack, there was no snow at all; only rocks with bright scarlet lines traversing through them. And as the flames ran under the surface of the jagged ground, the lines spread out evenly, melting more and more of that white substance. With a small smirk, Jack fixated his greenish gaze upon the opponent's figure. Unexpectedly, it was a man, but the swordsman did not care much about those simple details. His blade was vibrating inside its sheath, asking, wailing, shouting for the treasure hunter to end that "beast".

  34.
  35. < Kensei witnessed the awe of power manifested within the creature standing underneath. A supernova claimed the avalanche, devoured the land around him in a small radius, and claimed the snow's features. The right corner of lip curled into a smirk, creasing his features. "So, you are worth my effort!" Kensei twisted his right appendage toward his frontal features, the fingertips spread evenly from one another, carrying tendrils of silver streaks within their wake. Brushing past the face of himself, molecular structure of white collected about the cream flesh of Kensei, concealing the complextion entirely.
  36.
  37. The spiritual pressure aroused, tenfold it creased the land around it, a perculiar effect enrolled; shifting in a dome explosion, snow escaped in a eighty meter spread, removal completely provoked yet another howl of thunder, yet stationary in stance, he'd ignore the resonation of Tachikaze. Watching the beautiful summit explode from the flank, it'd topple in more of a tidal effect, it'd crush jack and Kensei if not avoided. Collision of his knuckles to palm caused another explosion, yet sustained in ten meters, the aura of reitsu consumed him figure. >

  40.
  41. 'twas time for Jack to actually move instead of just standing immobile just like the guardian statue. The ear piercing sound of an eagle shouting out into the winds of the mountain range was heard only for a few seconds while Jack kicked his feet off of the crimson-laced ground. His companion, Hanpan, climbed onto his right shoulder once he landed approximately fifteen feet away from his previous location, the snow around him melting. The heat that emanated from his body was constant, though not in the same proportion as the small nova that ensued a few moments ago. The lithe blue creature was enveloped by a series of seven streams of pure fire which jutted out directly from the earth. Several pillars of magma joined the mouse as the latter jumped towards the tidal wave of debris which threatened to bury Jack in order to effectively push it back.
  42.
  43. As Hanpan clashed with the first big rock, his little frame began to jump along the rest of the falling pieces of debris, and the flames were liberated in the form of small yet powerful fireballs. These seven fireballs were placed in strategic positions and, as Hanpan jumped down towards Jack's shoulder once more, they went off in quick succession. Boom, boom, boom! The explosions echoed throughout the whole mountain as the tidal wave had not only been stopped, but also pushed back slightly. Added onto this was the downwards force of two explosions which further increased the falling speed of the mountain pieces. If the opponent did not move from where he was, the magma pillars that had pushed Hanpan upwards and the burning debris coming from above him were going to seal him in a prison of molten stone. All the while, the treasure hunter focused his power with Moa Gault's and, naturally, with his trusty blade.

  46.
  47. < Kensei kneaded the energy beneath, planting his soles into gain, he'd shuttle directly toward the Western, his speed of a MACH. Instantanesouly, the maneuver placed him within sixteen yards of the counter-part, Tachikaze within reach of the being supernatural barrier, yet compelled by it's grasp. He'd aburptly sumersault directly above the specimen, Tachikaze like a knife within butter, streaked in red from heat, cut directly toward the trachea of the figure only ten inches beneath, although his left arm was nearly infront of the assault, the reitsu pressed heavily within the palm, sprean in a convexed structure. Kensei's airbounre aerobics were detrimental, but could easily end the sharade of avalanches and fireworks projected from the unknown. He'd bare within the being, Hollowfied; save Bankai, mere speed and centripetal momentum the art-work of pure technique with CQC. >

  49. Jack Van Burace
  50.
  51. His opponent's resolve was something unique; something that separated him from the countless demons and monsters that he had felled throughout the years. Jack really did not prefer using most of his techniques unless he absolutely had to reveal them in order to escape from certain death. This was one of those situations. As his opponent initiated his somersaulting motion, Jack's eyes closed for a very brief moment as the power of Accelerator coursed through his veins. Once he opened them again, the difference in the eyes' hues was clear. They had shifted from a beautiful emerald to a shimmering golden, and it even seemed that the air around him possessed some sort of strange glow to it. Whilst Jack kicked his right foot off in order to propel his figure approximately another fifteen feet away from where he was standing and directly to the east, Hanpan slammed down onto the spine of the somersaulting enemy.
  52.
  53. The pillars of magma had retracted back unto the ground and were now rapidly moving towards Jack's location. Meanwhile, the kinetic pulse that once surrounded his sheath was let loose when he drew the weapon. In one swift motion and only taking a single step forward, the beautiful edge of the Arctic Blade was revealed. Around it and around its metallic sheath, several smaller kinetic blades could be seen spinning in a rather quick pace. Quick enough that one could hear the air being torn apart, the whistles of a thousand swords being slashed continuously throughout empty spaces.

  56.
  57. < The concentration of spiritual energy expanded, sending the mammal sprawling within the rocky outcrop, nearly crushing the speciment within the wake of his aura. The ammaculant outburst of his handheld energy gained rush from his airbourne maneuver, veering toward the very entity now sixteen feet from landing. Kensei's Energy beam busted toward the torso of his counter-part, the compacted energy moving at multiple frames per mili-second. It would take a born miracle to even lessen to demanding lust of his projectile. Collision with the left palm, almost instantly shuttling forth, he'd strike out toward the opponent, the blue hue charged toward the moving construction of power. Planting soles upon the earth below, the crust cracked, leaking spiritual pressure, defying physics, debris began to lift, an enormous gathering of power would source within the frontal position of Kensei, a mere seven feet away. >
  58.
  59. Jack Van Burace
  60.
  61. Despite being harshly thrown away by the sheer aura which outlined the opponent's figure, Hanpan was one god damn tough cookie. The little critter got up almost instantly, rushing back towards Jack's location as this was surrounded by crimson flames. With a single leap towards the heavens looming above him, Jack traversed a whopping twenty meters in a single movement whilst, in his eyes, the glow of the Sonic Vision had appeared. The flames which were left behind collided with the energy beam, seemingly absorbing the sheer aura which formed it. In turn, the guardian Moa Gault itself spread his wings, becoming manifest right after the clashing had occurred.
  62.
  63. Another earsplitting roar surged from the phoenix-like beast as it rushed forward at speeds unheard of by men nor demon. The superheated air which Moa Gault left behind and around him in the wake of his dash only aided in the formation or more flares; flares that would trail behind him just like the tail of a comet. It was as if his opponent was trying to fight against Fire itself; a fight that would, if continued, be lost, only ending when the soul of his opponent was burnt to nothingness in sacred fire.
  64.
  65. мυgυяυмα кєnsєι
  66.
  67. < Kensei, with superb agility, bore gain of traction beneath, heaving upward in his simultaneous outburst of power which manifested within his frontal position exploded outward, consuming the entirety of a one hundred meter spread, cratering from the outburst. The devouring beam was mean to end the life of his counterbart, but even he retreated from the demanding Energy blast. But setting himself up was too easy. The erruption of spiritual pressure combined with sheer enegy and momentum; Debris previously risen raged toward the foe at high rates of speed, nearing the man almost instantanesouly, propelled by incredible forces. Kensei himself used his previous maneuver to bound himself into another somersault, directly overhead the counterpart, his right fist cracked against the left palm, creating an ear-splitting distraction. One that would deaffen the mouse like creature pursuiting after the man so tightly, which seemed to be his very alarm system. >
  68.
  69. Jack Van Burace
  70.
  71. As Moa Gault had rushed forward only to ascend right after Jack's enemy, the debris which gathered had pretty much been completely obliterated by the power of the guardian. What was good for the treasure hunter, however, was that his opponent had done exactly what he wanted him to do; Jack had lured him into the air, where Moa Gault was most proficient, though it was time to finish this. The swordsman utilized the power of both Accelerator and Sonic Vision in order to propel his body into a spinning motion at speeds far higher than what he had exhibited before. It was close to what one would classify to Mach Three, which given the power that he had been gathering all this time, it was easy for him to achieve. Whilst the first slash with his sheath was made, catching his opponent in mid motion whilst his right fist aimed to crack against the left palm, from what Jack could tell by tracing the trajectory of his arms' movements with his Sonic vision, the harmony of the ougi of Cosmic Nova paired with the common Fast Draw technique of Divide Shot was made manifest.
  72.
  73. The sheath slammed cleanly against the right side of the opponent's neck while, a split milisecond later, the sword pierced through his right arm. Jack had already dully noted that his enemy had a protective barrier of some sorts, and that is why Divide Shot played a vital role in that attack. Accelerator and Sonic Vision were there to enhance both his movement and reaction speed as well as his capability to detect the weak points in the different defenses of his enemies. The attack targeted specific locations in the pressure which surrounded Kensei in order to effectively break through it while the residual energy, left over after the barrier or piece of equipment of the target is destroyed, pursuits the physical body or spiritual essence of the opponent with the intent to damage.
  74.
  75. Now here's where it gets fun. Cosmic Nova, the technique which Divide Shot was paired with, was no pushover. It was an ougi of the Fast Draw. One of the three most powerful techniques that Jack had access to. Combining a series of kinetic pulses, the moment there is any sort of proximity or clash near the opponent, a nova-like explosion will be produced, obliterating the opponent in a spread out angle right in front, above or below the user. In this case, Kensei was right in front of Jack, and the latter had lashed out twice at him whilst in mid-motion. To top things off, Kensei had to deal with the guardian of fire, Moa Gault, which was closing in on him even after the Cosmic Nova had occurred. Was this be the end of the fray?
  76.
  77. мυgυяυмα кєnsєι
  78.
  79. < Kensei had been using double-edged techniques. This was the repercussion he'd fear. As instantaneous as Tachikaze had intercepted the oncoming hilt, he'd nearly took another seperating blow, since the inmotion of his diagonal slash could descend the sheathe below, and windmill of course, he'd twisit, almost into a pivoting kesa gig, allowing the spiritual pressure to soak most of the blades damage, more-or-less a blunt edge striking on impact. The manifesting pressure within his embodiment errupted, a wide-ranged aura expanded within a ten foot radius, completely dispelling all energy, the hollowfied Kensei hyped, nearly imconpacitated, he's rely on Bankai, a duel enrollment of Hollow concentration and an tri-fold of spiritual pressure. A purple seige of reignment expanded multiple appendages of energy in a rush outward, consuming the unknown pheonix expansion, only to bind it within the controllable tenrils which compressed it's avian figure, smudging the fire would be proficient for now.
  80.
  81. Now, for the outcome of the quick-release of resonation from the right flank of the foe He'd seen a sharp blur from the left arm, the notion of an onslaught would murder Kensei, Tachikaze practically morhped within his palm, metamorphing into a steel braced Tekken Tachikaze, within the simultaneous releash of power, Tekken Tachikaze bound upon the body of the foe's weapon, halting the blade even before it's complete exposure. "Do not underestimate me. Speed is not a factor toward me!".>
  82.
  83. Jack Van Burace
  84.
  85. Due to the superior speed of Jack in the current situation and given his prolonged periods of gathering power within not only his blade, but also his body, the spiritual pressure of his opponent only managed to push the Arctic Blade slightly. The Cosmic Nova which surged from the edge clashed with the wide-ranged aura, most likely suppressing it as the residual energy proceeded to tear through the spiritual body of Kensei. But it wasn't only the residual energy from the Cosmic Nova. The countless kinetic blades which had been spinning around both the sheath and the pure weapon also cut through the opponent's being with ease, separating from the main edge of the Arctic Blade as well as from the length of the sheath in order to attack his enemy from all directions. Given the proximity and the little size of the kinetic blades, it was quite impossible for his enemy to actually strike and divert them. The clash, in turn, propelled Jack towards the figure of Moa Gault, passing right through him as, in the end, the phoenix-like guardian rushed through, completely obliterating Kensei's spirit.
