- [Alison and I made our way to the concert hall. She had her uniform jacket tied around her waist and shorts, had a white tank top and overall looked comfortable. Why am I saying this? Because I was anything but comfortable last time I spoke to her...]
- Alison: *whistles* They have a grand piano.
- Ibis: Do you know how to play?
- Alison: Only a few songs. My parents weren't too crazy about me being a savant with every musical instrument. Why are you asking? Are you a master so you can best me at something?
- Ibis: [Her sarcastic tone was mocking, but playful at the same time.] That's not what I was going to say...but yes. I am a master.
- Alison: *slow claps* You did it. You're now on top for once. But still...it's nice to have skills like that.
- Ibis: I agree.
- Alison: The graduation rate where my parents lived was so low, they told me that leaving India was the greatest decision they have ever made for me. I don't think they're completely right, but I understand their intentions. I'm happy, I guess.
- Ibis: What would you have preferred?
- Alison: I don't know. I wasn't born yet. I don't even know what town or village they grew up in. It's like they don't want me to know of my original roots. I love my parents, but my god are they stubborn.
- Ibis: My father gives me a hard time every now and then, but I don't think he would hold back such personal information.
- Alison: Are you sure about that? It doesn't have to be like where he grew up and stuff. I mean like is he hiding things behind your back because "it's best that you don't know."
- Ibis: ...I can't doubt it. But I won't think any less of him. I love my father because of what he made of me.
- Alison: Ditto. We have a lot in common, Ibis.
- Ibis: In a strange way, yeah.
- Alison: Have you made love to the same sex but found it boring?
- Ibis: Pardon me?
- Alison: I was just kidding. *smirks*
- Ibis: Okay...
- Alison: Come on, Ibis. Entertain me.
- Ibis: [She sat in the front row, crossing her legs and giving me a genuine smile.] Entertain?
- Alison: You said you were a master at the piano. Prove it to me.
- Ibis: What do I get in return?
- Alison: *blushes* I can't tell you! I'm just kidding...but seriously. I want to hear the master. *Places her head on her hands*
- Ibis: Okay. I won't disappoint.
- [Not only was it less pressure to play for one person, but it was oddly fun. There's something about Alison that makes me feel soothed. I wish I can see more of this side of her and not the other. It's enchanting.]
