"..fine. I'll have to take time off work so... When can you fit me in?" He groans from behind his hands. "And how much? I want to be put to sleep. I don't want to hear it."

"I could squeeze you in as soon as Thursday", Koga says, scribbling in a paper a phone number, an address and the price of the surgery. "We should get some x-rays on the are first so make sure to go to schedule a date at this place for that. We have a partnership so they won't charge you."
Koga looks up then, frowning slightly.
"But you know, putting you to sleep is a little... Well, I can do it, but it's slightly riskier, not to mention that you'll have to wait for the general anaesthesia to wear off. That could take a while."

"How is it riskier?" He blinks, confused. "I'd be asleep for most of it. Not to mention I won't feel anything. And hey, I dontmind waiting. Not like I'd go right back to work anyway..."

"If you're requesting general anesthesia, you need to understand that it's basically an induced comma." Ohh, he's using his Doctor Voice, explaining what could go wrong t to a patient in a professional way. "Normally you don't want to put someone to sleep unless it's absolutely necessary.
If you are certain that you can't handle the pain or the nerves, then it would count as absolutely necessary, but otherwise I think that other options are better options."
