Chae is not perfect as everyone thinks she is. A little rough around the edges, worn out by her insecurities, her anxiety, and her stubbornness to accept things and feelings of her own. But she masks it all with a swipe of her cherry and honey chapstick and that toothy smile.

She's affectionate towards her loved ones and close friends and knows her responsibilities well but sometimes forgets to follow up on them. She tries her hardest to make sure everyone is happy and fed, food always available in her big backpack. She forgets to take care of herself often, her clumsy side getting the better of her.

doesn't know how to express her feelings so they keep bottling up inside her. She's the pillar of support for her single mom and needs to be strong for everyone around her.

IV. BEST MORTAL FRIEND + WHY: Scorpio coz they've been together for a long time. Scorpio has always stood up for her and is ready to fight anyone who dares make her sad. They're each other’s go to emotional rocks and are more like family.

BEST GOD FRIEND + WHY:
❃ Hoseok! He's the optimism that she yearns for. His personality sits well with her and together they can change the world's mood into a positive one even if there doomsday coming. Both come from the town of Gwangu and tend to talk in their Satoori when together. Being the same age they relate to most things.

HIS PERSONALITY:
Kim Namjoon. Son of Athena. A born intellectual. With looks that could kill and a dimple that melts everyone hearts, he's the ruler of many hearts but is too humble to owe it. His peach hair and the round glasses that he wears sometimes are his signature look when paired with that killer smile.

He is quite the talker. Heading bustling with thoughts and facts which spew out without hesitation. Legend says that Apollo himself praised his work and even had a rap battle with him which the God lost but he won't admit it and Joon is mature enough not to crib over it.

He is clumsy, the kind that makes you soft but it can also be dangerous for him. Despite this fact, he takes interest in the smallest of creatures to walk this earth and is big on collecting Ryan plushes.

Loves the rain because it brings about an atmosphere which pushes him to think deeply. He often carries a small notepad around which Chae gave him to note down stuff like emergency numbers, her address, her number and stuff like that. He keeps his thoughts and poems on there instead of what she told him and even has a rough hand-drawn portrait of her drawn with a red wax crayon.

Due to his humble and down to earth personality, people around him tend to use him unintentionally or intentionally and the fact that he is himself aware of the fact hurts. He ends up getting manipulated and deceived by his loved ones that he almost lost hope in trusting anyone. Even himself.

Namjoon has anger hidden behind his calm exterior. Anger towards various alternatives. He is ready to take the blame, ready to face the consequences that come along.

He is full of life and enthusiastic. Thank the Gods that Chae is a good listener or else Joon's findings and facts won't have a listener making the latter sad. A bit of a flirt who uses pickup lines as a greeting sometimes, earning a good hit on the back of his head from Chae who tends to get protective of him near other females.

He has an obsession with crabs and the first thing for the big friendly giant to do will be looking for them if they're near a body of water. Namjoon is taller than Chae and usually towers over her form. The sight of him running away from a crab after it bit him is too amusing.

He's soft. Too soft sometimes. He loves to cling to her, his arm automatically snaking its way around her waist. It bugged her in the beginning but later she grew so accustomed to it that if he wasn't close to her, she'd feel cold.

His mortal father is a florist and a historian who instilled the love for books in him. Joon writes songs and occasionally sings them. He loves to run his hand through Chae's hair when their together on the couch and her breathing, a rhythm that can never bore him, lulls him to sleep on most days.

Being the son of Athena, he is terrified of spiders due to the beef his mom had. He carries around bug repellent spray because of this and Chae slipper to kill them.

In the end, Namjoon finds a new obsession or a new thing to adore and claim as his. He wasn't big on romantic stuff mostly into old war stories and scenarios that took place at Olympus entertained him. But after he met Chae, everything sort of changed.

His love for Viking helmets changed to lavender flower crowns, instead of keeping his thoughts in, he started to voice them out to her. He started to become an individual who was fascinated by his surroundings, by the human world and its many wonders. His sang his ideas, concerns, worries and confessions to her and she was always his audience.


RELATIONSHIP: They go from being Acquaintances to friends to lovers.


WHAT BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER?: Namu knows that he's used by many people but there is one person in particular that he wants to use him. That's Chae. She helped the poor lad become acquainted with the 21st-century earth, helping him fit and even providing him with a roof on top of his head by allowing him to move in with her. He doesn't mind the chrome leather couch in the living room if she feeds him meat on a daily basis.

She listens to what he has to say, reviews his songs and does everything she can for him without asking much in return. But he is quick to notice how she doesn't take her thoughts and opinions into consideration. How she always stays silent when someone asks her about herself or how she replies with a simple 'i'm fine'.

Joon wants to change that. He wants Chae to break out of her shell. To express her feelings with her whole heart. If not by words then by actions. If she wants to take out her frustration, then do it on him. If she seeks comfort, then again he is there for her with open arms. If she wants to be loved/loves him, then she should kiss the life out of him.


SUGGESTED SCENES:
Scene 1
Namjoon visits Chae at work because he lost his pair of keys and Chae would have to take him home. He doesn't mind waiting with by the 'Adopt-a-puppy!' pen for her if he gets to play with the litter of the small creatures who on seeing him tend to gather at the gentle giant's feet, already clawing at his jeans.

Chae came out wearing pink scrubs that have little red hearts printed all over them and it evokes an emotion in Namjoon that makes him uwu at her unknowingly, his cheeks turning dusty red.

"Hey Joon! I'll be back in an hour, you don't mind waiting right?" She asks him and he shakes his head, his dimple melting her heart and the sight of the litter crawling all over him made her want to squish his cheeks and stay a while with him.

She came back after her shift to see the puppies huddled up against him, while his head rested on the wall behind, deep in slumber. His mouth was agape with drool dripping from the side which didn't stop Chae to snap a couple of pics of him.

Scene 2:
"Joonie, can you add toothpaste to the list?" Chae said looking for one in the bathroom.

"Which brand do you want? Colgate? Pepsodent? Senso-" Namjoon starts listing all the brand names that he knows of.

"Colgate works!" She shouts back from the bathroom.

“This is unbelievable. Colgate has triclosan in it. You can’t brush his teeth with triclosan,” Namu says, aghast.

Chae rolls her eyes. “I’ve never even heard of tricsolan.”

“Triclosan,” Namjoon says poignantly, “is a chemical that has been linked to antibiotic resistance and various cancers. They’ve done clinical studies.”

“If tricsolan –” Chae begins.

“Triclosan,” Namjoon interrupts.

Chae disregards it. “If tricsolan ” she says, emphasizing the incorrect pronunciation just to piss Namjoon off, “is so dangerous, why does my dentist give me free Colgate in a goodie bag every time I leave? Isn’t it her job to, like, not kill me?”

Namjoon shrugs. “Dentists don’t have to take the Hippocratic oath.”

“Bullshit, yes they do.”

“I didn’t know you were a dentist, Chae –”

“You don’t have to be a dentist to know you’re spewing lies, Namjoon–”

Chae gets cut off by his plump lips on hers, his strong built arms wrapping around her frame holding her in place so she doesn't run away.

"I don't want my human to die, do I now?" Namjoon says, his eyes shining with innocence as if he didn't kiss her a moment ago.

"W-who taught you that?"

"Seokjin. He said it's a good way to shut people up."

Scene 3: Chae takes Namjoon to the subway and teaches him how to use it. She gets him a couple of MetroCards (in case he misplaces one) and teaches him how to swipe them to get in. Namjoon being more curious about the station tends to wander away from Chae so out of frustration, she grabs onto his hand and doesn't let go, unaware of the fact that his heart might just leap out of chest any minute.

He takes note of the strands of hair that often fall into her eyes or just tend to cover her features. Her headphones are in and she keeps hiking up her puffy North Face closer to her to stop the chilly morning breeze from getting to her bones. The big red glasses keep slipping down the bridge of her nose. Her cheeks are flushed and her lips are pursed.

Namjoon doesn't realise that he had been staring at her for too long. He doesn't usually have to face his feelings, so, for now, he ignores his brain when it tells him that Chae's lips are perfect for kissing and being kissed.

The train soon arrives and she drags him with her, with Joon following her like a rag doll in her control. They take a seat next to each other, their hands still intertwined. Namjoon's cheeks are dusted rosy pink at the contact, him not understanding the great deal in holding hands but it flustered him nevertheless

Namu's surprised when he feels fingers pushing one of the earbuds into his ear.

Sharing music has always been an intimate ritual for Namjoon. It’s the highest honour: if he likes someone, really likes someone, then he’ll let them listen to his playlists. And now Chae just popped an earbud into his ear like it was nothing. Holy Hades!

The music starts and it’s nice. It’s relaxing – ambient sounds and mellow beats. Namjoon likes it and likes that Chae is just staring at him, almost shyly, as though she’s waiting for approval. He flashes her his dimpled smile and bops his head liking her choice and Chae lets go of the breath she didn't know she was holding in.

 "Do you like Mario Kart?" Chae asks Joon breaking the silence and holding his gaze.

Joon doesn't quite hear it at first coz he is literally attached to her with a white wire which is too much for his brain to run at top speed.

"What? Mario? Yeah, I do. Jimin had a console back on Olympus," Namu says nonchalantly.

"Jimin?" Chae raises her eyebrows.

"Oh you know, the tiny blond bean who seemed to be drunk?"

"Son of Dionysos?"

"Yup. That's him. Who's your favourite?"

"Oh! I like Princess Peach!" She says, her eyes shining. "Who's yours?"

“Waluigi,” Namjoon says absentmindedly, still not able to detach from the fact that he and Chae are doing the most intimate thing humanly possible on the fucking train and yet everyone around him manages to stay so calm. How does everyone stay so calm?

He doesn't miss the look of absolute disgust Chae gives him.

“Waluigi?” She asks, utterly sickened, “Unbelievable."

“Hey,” Namjoon protests, “He’s cool. I always win Mario Kart with him.”

“I’m sick.”

Namjoon laughs and makes a Waluigi noise: “Wah!!!”

“Bye.”

“Yah ho!!!”

"You better stop. Our station has arrived," She says trying to sound as serious as possible but fails as the smile on her lips reflects Namjoon's.

Namjoon stands up too fast with the headphones still in and accidentally yanks them out of both of their ears, which elicits an “ow!” from Chae, which Namjoon feels guilty about for the rest of the walk.

Scene 4: They go on a beach and Namjoon tries to finds crabs to show Chae how precious those small creatures are and she returns with a spider to scare him. One of the spiders actually bites Joon in the process.[fake love lol]

Scene 5: Cotton candy catches his attention a lot and he always stops for them. Since they are not found on Olympus, he enjoys it here.

"It's so lovely, wow."

"Even if this world ends, we need cotton candy makers."

Scene 6:
"Gosh! I'm such a mess!" Chae cries even harder now, blowing her nose into a tissue.

This had been going on for the past one hour since Joonie finally opened the dam to her feelings. She let everything out as she leaned into his chest and cried her eyes out, somehow the smell of detergent and his musk calmed her down.

"No, you're not," Joon takes her hands away from her face and places the palms on his cheeks instead. "You're perfect and your imperfections make you who you are. You are my Chae. My Human."

Scene 7: [I don't know where would this fit, like in the middle somewhere before he sorts his feelings for her or after that. Or in the end]

Namjoon sees the red string around him glowing with warmth and he knew exactly what it was. He saw it on the first day he came to earth and now he sees it again but more prominent than before. The red string of fate was secured around his waist and he couldn’t help but sweat and get tense.

It was usually visible to Godly descendants and creatures and it meant that one’s soulmate is near. Namjoon boarded the bus and the hold became tighter around him. The string now brighter extended to the back of the bus where it disappeared behind the last few seats. The sting as if with a life of its own pulled him towards its other end.

Namjoon obliged and went with the pull, his heart thumping. He noticed someone sleeping with their head against the window and a denim jacket covering their face. The end of the string was tied around the person’s wrist now too bright to even look at.

Namjoon sat down next to the person and thought that he’d introduce himself but stops not wanting to disturb someone's slumber. He can’t help but be curious about the string so he tugs to the person’s end and their wrists come into view along with a crab charm bracelet and Namjoon’s eyebrows disappear into his fringe.

“Chae?!”

First thing I want to say is that Namjoon here is quite different from Namjoon in other fics where he is often labelled as “Dom leader Daddy material’ yada yada but what we often forget to see is that Kim Namjoon is just 24 years old and is quite boyish.
