The client currently behaves as if it succeeds, but as you can see from Smart Strike's super-effectiveness, it's fine on the back-end. In other circumstances where a Pokemon is simultaneously poisoned and confused (e.g. from Unnerve then switching out Unnerve), Lum would heal both conditions.
