  1. Sirocco shrugs. Those people about to be arrested brought it on themselves. "Hmmm, good idea."
  2. |<-- Gintoki has left irc.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: delicious french fry wife)
  3. Sirocco turns around and starts heading away from the commotion.
  4. Skies follows, keeping an eye on Zeliun and Gin to make sure they don't get dragged away by the crowd or guards.
  5. looks back to see if they're being followed.
  6. Sirocco grins beneath his veil. For once he wasn't going to get in a fight with the local guards.
  7. Sirocco "I wonder what they'll do to those people?" he muses aloud.
  8. Skies "I don't know," Skies says crossing her arms to hide her discomfort at the thought of what might happen to the poor guy who started it, "Hopefully nothing too severe."
  9. Zeliun follows behind the group, contemplating and grinning to himself. "Wonder how that would've turned out if I had the foresight to bring a basket full of fruit."
  10. Sirocco touches his cheek. "I doubt they'll be very merciful."
  11. Skies attempts to shoot a glare over at Zeliun, but begins to giggle when she sees the goofy grin on his face. She stops giggling when Sirocco mentions what might happen to the people, though. "I feel like we should do something..." she says in a hushed voice to the group.
  12. Sirocco "Like what?"
  13. "There's at least four Dragonborn watching the arrest. We can't interfere without exposing ourselves. The last thing we need is the Wyld Hunt showing up."
  14. Skies pouts, "I don't know. But it's bothering me. Right before the guy threw the tomato, I noticed the man in the Red Coat talking to him..."
  15. Zeliun stops walking for a moment, his head still staring into space - but staring at something, rather than daydreaming. He reaches out to tug on an article of Sirocco's clothing. "Hey, Sirocco. Aren't the people you're looking for wearing veils like yours?"
  16. Sirocco "What? Yes the men were veils like mine."
  17. Skies notices Zeliun has stopped walking, and tries to follow his stare to whatever he is looking at.
  18. Zeliun "Well..." Zeliun subtly points out one member of the crowd currently being arrested. "There's just an awfully familiar looking veil on that person over there."
  19. Sirocco "What?!"
  20. Zeliun "You don't suppose...?"
  21. Sirocco turns and looks to where he's pointing.
  22. Sirocco "Damn."
  23. Sirocco turns back towards the others.
  24. Sirocco "I have to help him."
  25. Sirocco begins to march towards the soldiers and the protesters trying to think of a way to spirit the man away without exposing himself.
  26. Skies grabs Sirocco's shoulder as he begins to march, "Hold on, let's try to think of a plan first..."
  27. Sirocco "If you have any ideas I'll be glad to hear them, but I won't stand by while one of the Heshim is in trouble."
  28. "Quickly Skies!"
  29. Skies "I'm thinking!"
  30. Sirocco watches the struggle anxiously.
  31. Skies "If we could some how convince them he's innocent...," Skies says looking just as anxious as Sirocco.
  32. Flare The grey haired man is looming over the veiled man, and his face is absolutely still, like a grave. "You are under arrest for Assault, attempted murder, Larceny, High Treason, Jaywalking, Disrupting the Peace..." He continues to list off crimes. The Man in the veil swears at him. "And saying nasty things about my mother. Did you or did you not throw the fruit?" He questions, picking the man...
  33. ...up by the scruff. The two soldiers with him look a bit worried. The veiled man mimes that he didn't.
  34. Sirocco snarls as the Dragonborn manhandles the member of the Family.
  35. Sirocco "If you're going to try now's the time."
  36. Skies activates Judge's Ear Technique, thinking it will be helpful to determine his innocent.
  37. Sirocco thinks to himself about how the Grey haired man dodged the tomatoes. The man was obviously extremely skilled. He moved without moving, he wasn't even sure if HE could pull that off.
  38. Skies "He didn't throw it," Skies says in a hushed voice to Sirocco even though that was fairly obvious.
  39. Sirocco "That makes our intervention all the more necessary." Sirocco replies tugging at the bit to help the man.
  40. Sirocco clenches and unclenches his hands.
  41. Skies holds onto Sirocco, though her grip is pretty weak because she doesn't want to see an innocent be hurt by this and she's not very strong.
  42. Zeliun Zeliun casually approaches the conflict casually, a friendly smile on his face. "Gentlemen, please treat this innocent man more gently. I didn't see him come as close as arms' length to a piece of fruit, and I'm sure he's just as upset by the insult as you are. Am I correct, my good sir?", Zeliun adds, motioning to the veiled man, signaling him to declare his
  43. innocence.
  44. Sirocco prays that the Heshim can swallow his pride long enough to get out of this.
  45. Flare The grey haired man shakes his head. He seems dumbstruck. "...I...what?"
  46. "I mean, there were words, but...what? I mean, I clearly am arresting him for the crimes he committed."
  47. Sirocco steps forward. "He didn't throw the fruit. I saw it. The man who did slipped into the crowd."
  48. Sirocco "You're arresting the wrong person."
  49. Skies takes a deep breath, and steps forward. "Excuse me..." She says as meekly as possible.
  50. Skies "You think he's the Captain, correct? He took off into the crowd after convincing this man to throw the fruit. He's using this as a distraction to escape, you should be looking for him!" She urges him, hoping he's caught off guard.
  51. Flare The Grey haired man stops his shaking. "...The Captain took off? By Pasip's Whiskers." He hissed, then threw the man down. "I knew he'd be here. I told them to make this a trap...too caught up...stupid." He mumbled out. "Alright. Fine!" he finally said. "Take this piece of trash, and do whatever. We have more important things to do." He said, then brushed passed the group, his guards...
  52. ...following him. The air seems to chill as he walks by, leaving a shaken man in the dirt.
  53. Sirocco "Air aspect...?" Sirocco mutters before extending a hand to his fellow.
  54. "Are you alright?"
  55. Flare The man nods. "...Yes."
  56. Sirocco helps him up and dusts him off.
  57. Zeliun sighs in relief as he walks away, just as baffled at the Dragonblood's reaction as the Dragonblood himself. "That... Was not my first work. I'm glad you're okay, mister, err..."
  58. Skies steps out of the way and silently watches the man as he passes by before turning her attention to the man Sirocco just helped up.
  59. Sirocco turns to Skies. "Thank you." he says sincerely. "I was about to attack the man."
  60. Skies blushes. "It was nothing, I couldn't really sit by and let the guy be arrested... and I'm mad at that Captain fellow, getting innocent people arrested in his stead."
  61. Flare "Walker." he muttered. "I'm Walker in Sands." He finished. He looked downtrodden and beaten, even if you couldn't see his face. Even his voice sounded depressed.
  62. Sirocco nods and pats Walker on the back. "I am Sirocco of the South." he says, "It's good to see another Heshim."
  63. Skies gently extends her hand for a handshake, "I'm Skies' White Rose, it's a pleasure to meet you Mister Walker."
  64. Flare The man shakes Skies' hand, and nods at Sirocco. "...Yes. Another Heshim. Is a dark day when it has been so long since I have seen another."
  65. Zeliun bows. "Zeliun Purifying Light. Are you hurt at all, Walker?"
  66. Flare "No more then my pride."
  67. Sirocco frowns. "You're alone here? You're not here with your clan?"
  68. Flare The man chuckles. "What Clan? It's been almost twenty years since then. We're scattered to the Winds. I've not seen another Heshim in thirteen years."
  69. Sirocco curses.
  70. Sirocco "I had hoped to find an entire family here. That's what the rumors said."
  71. Skies speaks up, "Perhaps we should find some place less in the open to talk.
  72. Flare "Ah, yes. You can come to my house. It's small...but quiet, at the least."
  73. Sirocco nods. "Lead the way."
  74. Zeliun follows.
  75. Skies as she follows she watches uneasily as people are arrested trying her hardest to come up with a way to intervene.
  76. Flare The man nods, and shuffles his way down the street. The guards are still doing their arresting spree, but they don't bother you. Every now and then, you see one of the commanders, save for the scared one. They blatantly ignore you, save for the grey-haired one, who you don't see. You see the Jester again as well, though he disappears down an ally and no one comes out, and despite that,...
  77. ...Walker keeps moving, his face down, shuffling on feet that look like they don't want to move. He leads you through the average section, to the poor section, and down a twisting and turning passage. Finally, you end up in front of a hole in the wall. Half the building looks like it's going to collapse, the other half appears to have some sort of mold growing on it. He Stands in front of...
  78. ...the door, breathing deeply.
  79. Sirocco "We can't help them all Skies. But don't worry, now that the Dragon born are gone I'm sure they won't be punished harshly."
  80. [=-=] Scratch that.
  81. "We can't help the all Skies."
  82. Skies looks at Sirocco, sadness very evident in her deep blue eyes. "You're right," she says with a sigh as they approach the house.
  83. Sirocco pats her on the back.
  84. Flare Walker slowly, ever so slowly, opens the door. The inside is bated in a pale red light. "...Well well well..." Someone says from teh inside, as the door opens wider. "...I can't say I was expecting this."
  85. Sirocco makes a face. It had better not be who he thinks it is.
  86. Zeliun crosses his arms and puts sympathetically. "At this point, if we tried to interfere with the remaining arrests, I worry we might do more harm. The real is so quick to take offense and quicker yet to draw arms."
  87. Flare It's just some woman.
  88. Sirocco nods at Zeilum. "Indeed.
  89. turns towards Walker. "Do you know this person?"
  90. Flare the man sitting at the table leans back, square tipped black boots arched in the air. He still has that same damn grin. His coat hangs off his chair. "Walker happens to be one of my favorite servants." The Captain says. "I was rather hoping he'd follow my orders though."
  91. Sirocco frowns and crosses his arms.
  92. Skies shoves past Walker, absolutely furious that not only was the man that started this entire thing sitting in front of them, but also that he was acting so non-chelaunt about the man getting arrested in his stead. She slams her palms down on the table, her hood falling back letting her long white hair fall out and her deep blue eyes concentrated...
  93. in a piercing glare...
  94. Flare "Yeeeees?"
  95. he drawls it out, on purpose, like he doesn't expect you to understand the word.
  96. Skies "What the hell?! This man was almost arrested, because he did what you told him to, and you don't even care! You don't even care that you have gotten about one hundred people arrested today, do you?! What was even the purpose of that!? To hurt people? I..." she trails off at a loss for words though her fury hasn't quieted down at all.
  97. Flare "It's all working according to plan. You gotta crack a few eggs and all that." he says, shrugging. Walker doesn't even seem to mind he's being called expendable.
  98. Sirocco frowns more. There were so few left... no Heshim was expendable.
  99. Skies she continues glaring at him, though not before taking a deep breath and exhaling. She knows she can't bring the guards here because Walker would then be implicated and he's suffered enough.
  100. Skies "Innocent people aren't eggs, you ass." She says unable to even pretend to hide her disgust at this man's attitude.
  101. Zeliun Zeliun steps forward at this point, his doubts erased. "I wasn't sure if you were bluffing or not, Skies... You have a lot to answer for, 'Captain', and I'd like some answers, /now/. This little plan of yours had best be the most revolutionary wonderful change I've heard of in months..."
  102. Flare "Tell ya what. You like 'em so much, why don't you do my job for me? There's ognna be a trial for those guys. Most of them are guilty as all get out, but some are innocent. Why don't you come up with a good defense, get 'em off the hook. Then you can save these people you seem to care about, and I don't have to lift a damn finger to prove the Realm's full of it and needs to go."
  103. "Or hey, stage a break out. Prove the Realm can't protect it's people. I relaly don't give an ounce what you do, other then the fact I expected Walker to be in jail and now he's not."
  104. Sirocco "How was his being in jail supposed to damage the Realm?"
  105. Flare "...You ain't too bright, are you?"
  106. Sirocco "Humor me."
  107. Flare "I just outlined it. If he's in jail, despite the fact he through nothing, he's been wrongfully accused. This means he's innocent. If he is then proven that he did nothing wrong, not only does the Realm's investigation look incompetent, they look like power hungry asses."
  108. "when he gets off the hook, he is then able to become a useful symbol of a wrongfully accused man."
  109. Skies "Or they could have killed him quietly, claiming he was a chief agent of the Captain," Skies says through her teeth.
  110. Sirocco "Do you really think the trial would have been fair? You hit a Dragonborn with a tomato in front of hundreds of people. They would have sentenced him before it even started."
  111. Flare "That's why there's a lot of them being arrested."
  112. "Hey, I didn't throw the tomato."
  113. "And it still doesn't help the situation. Think about it." He said, tapping his forehead. "50% off merchant stalls made a riot. What will a hundred executions with no trial or evidence do?"
  114. Skies "I didn't say 100, just one. They execute him as a scape goat and put the rest into labor intensive jobs that appear to be reasonable on the outside."
  115. Zeliun "And if the trial is staged and the evidence forged? False witnesses bribed into testimony? What then?"
  116. Sirocco shakes his head.
  117. Flare "Then you ferret out the false evidence. Obviously."
  118. "As for labor intensive jobs, Eyewitness accounts, statements from the workers, things such as that. Nah, that might be as bad as flat out killing them."
  119. Skies suddenly realizes she was yelling very loudly just a minute ago. She quickly peaks outside to make sure no attention was drawn to the hole in the wall before turning back to The Captain, "You underestimate how influential the realm is," she says with a hint of sadness in her voice.
  120. Flare "Eh. You work from the bottom. That's why I picked here. Lots of trouble going on."
  121. Sirocco "And how much they really don't care about mortals."
  122. Skies "People," she corrects Sirocco
  123. Flare "Who cares if they don't care about hte mortals, the Mortals care about the Mortals."
  124. Skies slaps The Captain.
  125. Flare The slap actually connects to the man, sending his chair toppling to the floor. For an instant, it looks like he's just floating in mid air, attached to the table by his feet, about to fall. Then with rapid motions, he lands on his feet, somehow. He's standing now, but what had been a relaxed look is dreadfully serious. Skies' slap hit his wrist. "Wow." He muttered. "Not bad."
  126. He does not look smug anymore
  127. Sirocco narrows his eyes. That was very... impressive.
  128. Flare "Now. Get out of my house before I throw you out."
  129. Skies is some what taken aback by his sudden... floaty-ness.
  130. Zeliun fails to come up with a proper addition to that bit of indignant rage, and feels slightly inadequate.
  131. Flare "...I said out. You can come back tomorrow when you've cooled down. I don't deal with hot heads."
  132. Sirocco "You're not an average person are you..." Sirocco shrugs. "Walker, I would speak to you later. It would be good to speak to another Heshim. And I have important news for you."
  133. Sirocco turns around and leaves.
  134. Flare Walker seems to be rather taken aback at everything that just happened. "...ahh...right." he mumbles out
  135. Zeliun eyetwitches. "It doesn't matter if the Realm leaves this place if they fall into worse hands. Remember that." He then exits with Sirocco.
  136. Skies she stares at him for a moment, regret reflecting across her eyes as she realizes she screwed up Sirocco's chance to talk with Walker, before quietly turning and leaving pausing only at the door to say "You're lucky that Walker is here or I wouldn't hesitate to report you. At least the guards pretend to care about the people they protect."
  137. slams the door on exit.
  138. Flare "You'll be back. 'Cause Walker ain't leavin." he yells at the shut door.
