- were going to be using an old but gold method that works really well with this product -
1. So first you are going to have to order yourself a new Oculus quest 2 - order 256gb for bigger resell value :jew:
i've personally had some good luck with best buy as they refund instantly under $500 but u can use any retailer it doesn't matter.

2. once you receive your product then head over to oculus support and go to submit a ticket via email -> https://tickets.oculusvr.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

3. SE Portion - tell them that you were playing VR and the headset strap popped off while you were playing and the headset fell on the floor and cracked, tell them there was a faint battery smell followed by the fall that was coming from the device and it would not turn on - put this in your own words and create a story

4. 9/10 they'll ask you for pictures so you're going to do one of 2 methods I've come up with
lazy method: tell them you disposed of the headset as soon as you smelt the battery scent - this doesn't require you to open the box
Advanced method: get your oculus, draw a faint small line on it with a pencil or something that you can rub off later and then get some water mixed with baking soda or corn starch and smear it on that line to make it look like battery acid is coming out of the crack

5. theyll then ask for proof of purchase (this is why you went to oculus support first) then your address and contact info so they can send you a new quest and if they don't then just try again with a different agent (I've had this work both times I did it so you should be fine)

6. Head over to whichever retailer you bought the quest from and tell them that the battery came punctured they'll probably ask for pictures so u can do either of the 2 methods I wrote above

7. they'll ask you if u want a replacement or a refund - you can do the oculus support again if you get a replacement netting you 4 headsets for the price of 1 (unless you double dip your retailer) or u can just take home 2 headsets for free

(yes the battery puncture method is outdated but for cheaper products like this its almost a guaranteed refund)
