  1. Biting the Bullet Edition
  2.
  3. 'Sup, doods!
  4.
  5. Good news: I have my computer back. I have a new power supply. I have backed up all of my important data in the event that my computer craps out again.
  6.
  7. Bad news: I have no idea if my computer will crap out again. The repair place has no assurance that my computer won’t crap out again. I am shutting down the computer at the end of every night in a deathly fear of the computer crapping out again.
  8.
  9. These past two weeks for me have tested my patience. Trying to figure out where the problem lies in this five-year-old PC has fatigued me a great deal.
  10.
  11. Breaking news, doods: my patience has run out. I am biting the bullet.
  12.
  13. I am buying a new computer.
  14.
  15. This is not a decision that I make lightly. On one hand, my savings accounts are getting a little too low to withstand any more surprise expenses. I just blew through $1,500 for all of the parts I wanted. On the other hand, I have been running into limitations with my current computer that are getting harder to ignore. That is, I can’t play in the community tournaments, record the tournament broadcast in the quality that everyone is used to, and also record my gameplay locally without running into encoding errors.
  16.
  17. I am getting massive upgrades to my CPU and GPU to greatly reduce the likelihood of future issues. If you’re itching to find out what I bought before I put it all together this week, I actually posted on my Patreon for once. patreon.com/cardsoftheheart All of the paying Sardines can get access to the post with the full list. Should I make free posts there?

  20. Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals:
  21.
  22. Goal #1: record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. The scripts are done! I am now challenging myself to find time amidst my tournament duties to work on recording the gameplay. I would then need voice-over on top of that. July will be when I will go all in on this after I successfully put together my new computer.
  23. Goal #2: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts. This could start September. This could start November. I have no clue.
  24. Goal #3: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process, though I'm not currently motivated to stream any other part of it at the moment. Next major objective is to make alerts. I have stream reaction clips to put in. Emotes, one or two alternate overlay themes, and alternate timer themes would come soon after. As soon as I think of things to put in, I will add them to the list. I added a list in a dedicated channel in my Discord server. If you have any time to kill and want to contribute, check it out.
  25. Goal #4: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming. I may put them on a separate channel.
  26. Goal #5: edit personal best videos in Tetris Attack Easy – V-Hard (post commentary recorded) and Normal (post commentary recorded)—and everything I did in Pokemon Puzzle Week—and that S-Hard PB—and that V-Hard WR—and that Easy – S-Hard WR—and that TA Easy PB—and another Easy – V-Hard PB (twice). Standalone archival videos are already attached to my speedrun profile. I'm hoping to make eye-catching productions from each speedrun. I'm considering it to be my personal test to be a YouTuber. I was failing miserably even before this moving thing became a thing.
  27. Goal #6: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for every game we might play. I have a volunteer to help broadcast the matches in my stead, but I need to get my new computer in place before I engage in too many projects.
  28.
  29. This week's schedule:
  30.
  31. Saturday @2pm-4pm ET – twitch.tv/puzzlespeedrun PPL2025 Koga Open replay
  32. Saturday @7pm-10pm ET – PPL2025 Sabrina Open Qualifying
  33.
  34. Now if you'll excuse me, doods, I need to prepare for a REALLY busy week. That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, be decent to each other. Later, doods!
