  1. This filter provides sane default settings, and a variety of well-documented alternative rules for straight-forward customization.

  3. Items are increasingly hidden at higher levels, but the best are always visible, as are rarer niche items. Unique & set items are always shown, as are runewords and crafted items. While relatively few items are displayed at very high levels, not everything that appears will be useful to everyone. Descriptions are included throughout to assist with tailoring the filter to your needs.

  7. * Mostly follows classic coloring scheme (it still looks like D2)
  8. * Non-Equipment more clearly distinguished from Equipment (gems, jewels, charms)
  9. * unique/set highlighting
  10. * unique/set items with shared bases or natural sockets show them (unidentified)
  11. * pseudo-ethereal items (indestructible/self-repairing & eth combo) are shown differently than regular eth items. (unidentified uniques included)
  12. * dynamic display for high-value vendorable items
  13. * popular crafting ingredients shown with codified recipes
  14. * useful magic items such as +3 Warcries "BO sticks" or those with +4 or more skills are highlighted
  15. * base items useful for runewords are shown
  16. * rules for crafted and corrupted items
  17. * identified relics show their tier
  18. * warning for equipping items after death

  38. 1. Ensure the file is named item.filter.

  40. 2. Copy it to your *Path of Diablo* folder (C:\\...\Diablo II\Path of Diablo)
  41. - this can also be done via the Launcher by using the file's location instead of a URL (C:\Users\\...\Downloads\item.filter)

  43. 3. Enable custom filters with in-game Settings. (bind as a hotkey for easy changes)
