  18. My bounce rate is 0,81% now, that's impossible
  19. Websitewww.authorityboost.net
  20. Depends on the site. The goal of affiliate/CPA sites is to get the click out to the product/service/offer ASAP to make a sale, so for those sites, having a high bounce rate is fine. Depends on the site type and goal.

  39. Bounce rate tells how your site performs. Bounce rate should be low. Have a live chat or form section to make customer engaging more.
  40. Definitely Yes, bounce rate can and does move google rankings. Keep maintaining your blog at low bounce rate. If the content of your blog is good for the audience and they will stay in your blog longer, which means low bounce rate.
  41. Definitely! You really need to get your bounce rate down specially when you have multiple pages on your website. So try not to neglect this factor as it can affect your Google rankings.
  42. Bounce rate is more important now because dwell time on site is more important to Rankbrain in contributing to Google's ranking formula. Regardless of the high quality of your 'static' SEO (on page and backlinks), if the visitor leaves your site quickly, Google can now tell that they bounced, which dynamically changes your page's ranking in a downward direction.
  43. One quick fix could be to have a link on the page the visitor landed on that upon clicking it takes them to another page on the domain, to get a free download or giveaway. That's not interpreted as a bounce to Google, but as more engagement with the site, thereby reducing the bounce rate.
  44. I think everybody is overestimating the importance of bounce rate, at least for seo purposes. I think "pogo sticking" is much more detrimental. I have had sites where pages have ranked #1-4 for informational queries with high bounce rates, but because the page was able to answer their questions and the user didn't bounce back to Google our the page still ranked very high.

  47. Exactly. Can't believe so many people are so uninformed in this thread. You can't say "bounce rate matters" as a blanket statement. There are MANY niches and queries were a high bounce rate is expected. Heck, one of my biggest money making sites has a bounce rate of 96%, and guess what? It ranks top 3 for many xx,xxx (searches per month) keywords.
  48. Does bounce rate affect rankings on SERPs?
  49. I agree with the guys above. A high bounce rate CAN be a good thing depending on what the query is. If you completely anwser their question(s) they should bounce. You have to worry about pogosticking.
  50. it depend on your niche also
  51. Overrated in MOST cases (not all)
  52. Scenario One -
  53. Emergency Plumber, has an OK site that's ranking pretty well because a lot of people reference him, he has good reviews and he's clearly good at what he does - Bounce rate = 65% - You know why? Because people who call him are standing knee deep in their own crap, they want a plumber that's good and they've found one, they jump on the site and click to call him. SEO Done.
  54. Most people want to contact him, not read about the latest pipe work fashion
  55. Scenario Two -
  56. Local councils - Everyone knows them, not always on a .gov website these days, all they want is a phone number or to pay a bill online, which in most cases goes to a third party website - 70% bounce rate
  57. Scenario Three -
  58. Car mechanic - Again, people want to contact them via the phone so they click to call, book a time for the car to go in - 70% bounce rate
  59. Scenario Four -
  60. Writer - The writer produces an awesome tips style content in the form of a PDF or infographic. Most of it is either people sharing to another website or downloading it for a later date to read - Bounce Rate 62%
  61. Scenario Five -
  62. A software developer is giving away software, its free and its simply grab an email, everyone is going nuts and sharing it.... 70% bounce rate but he is banking it
  63. So in most cases, if you know there is a reason why the bounce rate is high then Google will most likely work it out. However, if you are producing guides, blogs and full-blown articles where you expect people to stick around then yes, bounce rate is bad.
  64. Don't really use this -
  65. With over 500 metrics being considered when ranking on the search engine, bounce rate is definitely one of the factor that is used in determining your site's ranking for a particular page.
  66. It is not THE factor that will grant the first ranking, but among the 500 signals used, and when you combine these factors together, it paints a bigger picture in the process.
