  1. <soulpelt|> o.o
  2. <Antioch|GM> 20:57 <~Antioch|GM> It's a nice car, handling smoothly. There's a dock for her PRT-issue phone, and it takes only a moment to figure out her patrol destination from her assignment and spit out a GPS map.
  3. <Antioch|GM> 20:57 <~Antioch|GM> They're heading a good thirty minutes or so out of town, along the Erie shoreline to the northeast.
  4. <Antioch|GM> 20:57 <~Antioch|GM> Contested territory. The stomping grounds of a good few Tinkers intent on claiming their prize from Longinus's base.
  5. <Antioch|GM> 20:57 <~Antioch|GM> As she drives, she observes. Residential areas looking abandoned, power lines downed or missing outright, nary a single car parked on the streets, likely all cannibalized into Tinkertech -- it's a desolate area.
  6. <Antioch|GM> 20:57 <~Antioch|GM> Most commercial buildings appear to have been broken into. A gas station's been outright dismantled.
  7. <Antioch|GM> 20:57 <~Antioch|GM> "Looks like we're here," Feral drawls. ||
  8. <Antioch|GM> 20:59 <SCG|Gigawatt> "Let's do this shit." ||
  9. <Antioch|GM> ...
  10. <Antioch|GM> "Couple of ways we could do this," Feral says.
  11. <Antioch|GM> "We park the car out here, see if any moron tries to roll up and chopshop it, or we cruise until we see something worth getting out of the car for. What're you feeling?" ||
  12. <SomeCrazyGuy> She chuckles.
  13. <SomeCrazyGuy> "Let's wait for the moron." She checks the roof, seeing if there's any exposed metal on the interior of the car. ||
  14. <Antioch|GM> The interior of the car looks pretty well-insulated, at least from where she's sitting. What's under the hood might be a different question -- she still remembers the van she blew up, after all.
  15. <Antioch|GM> Feral finds a place to park, next to the curb of an empty convenience store.
  16. <Antioch|GM> "You take the roof, I take the building?" ||
  17. <SomeCrazyGuy> "Why don't I hide in the trunk? Give me a signal when the eventual idiot gets to work, and I'll pop out and make quick work out of 'em." ||
  18. <Antioch|GM> She shrugs. "If you're sure," she replies. "I'll send a text when we need you to bust out, then?" ||

  24. <Antioch|GM> It's a new enough model that there's actually a glow-in-the-dark pull tab to let her out of the trunk as she pleases. Convenient, although not being aware of anything that's going on around her and having to sit and wait for who knows how long isn't as pleasant.
  25. <Antioch|GM> It's a little cold -- the trunk isn't as well-insulated as the rest of the car, and the fact that a lot of her skintight costume is metal doesn't seem quite as handy in the present circumstance. ||

  263. <SomeCrazyGuy> She laughs.
  264. <SomeCrazyGuy> "Those bolts weren't at lethal strength, unless you don't know how to build a fucking suit."
  265. <SomeCrazyGuy> "I've been holding back since I started, but you think I'm just a killer. Wrong. I just don't think you have the fucking stones to kill me." ||
  266. <Antioch|GM> "Mmm. Whatever you say."
  267. * FossilLord is now known as FosSupper
  268. <Antioch|GM> "So, Feral. Here's my offer. I'd like her off the table, for any and all future interactions with the Protectorate."
  269. <Antioch|GM> "I'll give you all the info we have on the Tinkers here. Even me and G.G., since I'm feeling generous. Hideouts, resource shortages, the works."
  270. <Antioch|GM> "Off the table?" Feral says, suspicious. ||
  271. <SomeCrazyGuy> She leaps at the closest enemy, going for a bearhug, or at least an end to the discussion. ||

  278. <SomeCrazyGuy> ((Here's hoping he misjudged how I work.))
  279. <SomeCrazyGuy> She sends a bolt at the smokey fire bitch, full fucking strength. ||

  285. <Antioch|GM> The cage of spikes grounds the charge, but she keeps pushing, giving it her all. The lightningrod shatters, sending shrapnel everywhere, but the charge dissipates before it reaches her target.
  286. <Antioch|GM> "Point taken," he says, "you were holding back."
  287. <Antioch|GM> "G.G., shore this up, will you?"
  288. <Antioch|GM> Feral makes a break for one of the spikes, ripping it out of the ground and interposing herself between the fire Tinker and Gigawatt.
  289. <Antioch|GM> "Seriously?" the Tinker sighs, spitting flames from a wrist-mounted nozzle at the two.
  290. <Antioch|GM> "Hurry the fuck up and get yourself unstuck," Feral hisses loudly.

  292. <SomeCrazyGuy> Gigawatt goes for another bolt at the closest enemy. Nonlethal. ||

  295. <Antioch|GM> The sole remaining lightningrod takes the charge and blows up, but having diverted her attention to offense rather than escaping the tar, Feral can only block so much of the flamethrower and the gunk holding her down begins to ignite.

  306. <Antioch|GM> She comes to, some amount of time later, still in the same place, securely pinned down in a cocooned shell of metal.
  307. <Antioch|GM> Feral is similarly trapped. The metal flexes with her struggles, but doesn't give way.
  308. <Antioch|GM> "We'll deactivate the metal automatically after G.G.'s a sufficient distance away from us," the fire Tinker says.
  309. <SomeCrazyGuy> (GG?))
  310. <Antioch|GM> She realizes her mouth is gagged, metal covering it.

  314. <Antioch|GM> Struggling against her bindings, she tries to fire off bolts of electricity, trying to shed her human form to shift into intangibility.
  315. <Antioch|GM> After a few tries, it becomes clear that every bolt she fires off only drains her of energy. Nothing's accumulating into her body to catalyze the transformation.
  316. <Antioch|GM> "... you're free to go," the fire Tinker says, "once he does."

  321. <Antioch|GM> "And, just to sweeten the pot, I'm coming over to PHQ to deliver the intel myself. You can even hang onto me for the time being. Collateral, you see. A promise that you'll get her back once my group gets what they're here for."
  322. <Antioch|GM> The fire Tinker continues rambling at Feral while she struggles against her bindings.
  323. <Antioch|GM> "Sounded like a 'sweet deal, I accept' to me," he says. "Crazy how generous I'm being, right?"
  324. <Antioch|GM> "G.G., take her away, if you would?"
  325. <SomeCrazyGuy> ((so, just to be clear, I can't even shock myself to get shit all over me, my power does -not- work by creating ionized trails that should be more conductive than metal rods, and my breaker form is entirely dependent on energy not being absorbed? I'm legitimately confused at this point.))
  326. <Antioch|GM> ((G.G.'s metal goop is actively draining you right now. In other circumstances, you could be OK, but the energy that would kick off your transformation is getting leeched off.))

  329. <Antioch|GM> "Since I'm bringing you, we'll have to walk the whole way," the quiet G.G. says. "No biggie. You just charged my suit for about a day and a half's worth."
  330. <Antioch|GM> She hovers along, trailing behind him like a weird, oblong balloon, incapable of screaming, incapable of forcing her out with brute force.
