  1. This article is written as a means of clarification for what I feel is the biggest beginner hurdle among beginning astral projectors.
  2.
  3. I WANT TO IMMERSE MY SENSES IN MY WONDERLAND/THE ASTRAL, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE LET ME ACHIEVE THIS.
  4. --every astral projection beginner who's been frustrated with their lack of sensory immersion
  5.
  6. --- well then do you want to know the reality behind this situation??? ---
  7.
  8. The problem is your subconscious thinking that the physical is your true self.
  9.
  10. I know it's glossed about in the "reasons (you think that) you fail at astral projection" but the reality of this matter is not only is this a very common problem, it's a psychological problem, and because of your subconcious associations it is snowballed by nature.
  11.
  12. persistence will get you through to what you want, so keep on trying, even if it feels impossible to you.
  13.
  14. --- how to truly achieve sensory immersion ---
  15.
  16. FOREWARNING: I have not achieved sensory immersion outside of lucid dreaming, so what is here may be subject to change, but Hopefully this should clarify for those that have been having troubles since forever.
  17.
  18. 1. Slow and steady way - constant meditation and practice
  19.
  20. during your meditation sessions, immerse yourself by interacting with your world, feel what it's like, smell what it smells like, hear what it sounds like, in time you will overcome your psychological associations and truly experience your metaphysical senses.
  21. The biggest frustration with this method is how slow it feels, it's like working out, you simply can't go from 10lbs to 100 in a week, and your mind is set in this mindset.
  22.
  23. also do this during any "micromeditation" sessions whenever you get a break.
  24.
  25. 2. The quicker but trickier way - Lucid dreaming/sleep paralysis
  26.
  27. There is a reason that lucid dreaming and astral projection are confused with each other and seem to have similar gateways- sleep paralysis typically leads to lucid dreaming, which is in of itself, sensory immersion.
  28.
  29. use your preferred lucid dreaming method, WILD, FILD, WBTS, whatever, if you don't know how to lucid dream, check this out: http://www.dreamviews.com/content/
  30.
  31. 3. Both of the above
  32.
  33. why not? trying out both are practical means of sensory immersion, but the more chances and the more methods, the easier it becomes all around.
  34.
  35. this is the method I most reccommend.
  36.
  37. 4. your way - screw the noise, I do what I want.
  38.
  39. this is your domain, I don't give advice to those who want to cut their own path, just be safe, sane, and have fun.
  40.
  41. --- in conclusion ---
  42.
  43. sensory immersion is -not required- for astral projection, but it is highly desired for it and a good goal to work for, you can work for it
