  1. a spring-loaded clockwork staff
  2.
  3. On the ground lies a staff of patchwork metals.
  4.
  5. A slender baton of bronze, little more than a foot in length, gleams dully under light. Near one edge is a small circle crafted in relief, so slight it would be unnoticable if not for the absence of any other decor on the baton's face. When the circle is depressed, both ends of the baton swiftly extend in opposite directions, forming a full-length staff. Each end of the staff is tapered, layer upon retractable layer, with every one forged of a different metal; the recognizable among them including steel, silver, mithril, and iron.
  6.
  7.
  8. a pair of multi-lensed clockwork goggles
  9.
  10. A set of goggles lies on the ground, their lenses gathering dust.
  11.
  12. These frames closer resemble goggles than glasses. A thin band of blue-stained leather serves as the traditional strap to bind the goggles to their wearer's head. Across the face, supple leather cups the wearer's eyes protectively, eliminating all sight except for what is viewed through the wide glass lenses, tinted such that outside observers cannot see within. The lenses are bound to the leather by means of brass frames. Attached to these frames is a series of jointed arms, each end clasping a smaller glass lens that can be moved to position before the primary, magnifying the wearer's vision.
