Welcoming committee [Undyne & Mettaton]

"I'm so sorry, darling. Something came up. Alphys will be here later."

"What?!" Undyne eyed the robot suspiciously. "You didn't do anything to her, did you?"

"Me?" Even with a checkerboard for a face, he managed to look offended. "I would never! Don't you know who I am?"

"Well, I've MET you before," she said, putting as much disdain into the syllable as she could. "You're Met - Metta - Mettazoid?"

"Oh dear, oh dear. I never realized the television signal doesn't protrude into the backwater where you live."

"Nah, I just don't bother with broadcast television. Rots your brain. Just human history for me."

"Well! This stunning gap in your education should be rectified at once!"

"That doesn't sound -"

"You must come with me immediately."

Mettaton grabbed her hand, just as the part of the floor they were standing on began to sink down. Into view scrolled about half of a comfortable living room, surrounded by cameras. Within seconds, he had negotiated her into a comfortable chair and was pouring her a glass of wine.

"I don't think -"

He sat down across from her. "Oh, don't worry, the cameras aren't rolling. We are entirely private."

She sipped the wine. It was actually pretty good.

"Now then."

He extended his arm, and to her horror, it kept getting longer, stretching through the room like a snake. He wrapped it over her shoulder amicably.

"Are you sure you're not familiar with ANY of my programming?"

"I think I would remember."

His arm was almost calming, as long as she didn't think about the way the rest of him was all the way over there.

"H-hello?" said a new voice. "Is that you, Undyne?"

Alphys was peeking through the gap in the ceiling.

"Alphys! Thank god!"

"What are you doing down there?"

"Your, uh, friend was just showing me around. Hang on, I'll come to you."

She walked over to the platform, and it raised her into the air.

She couldn't have explained how, but the robot winked at her, just as he left her view.
