Lily Pankonin born on the 2th of February 1987, her parents raise her on a farm far away from the metropole Helsinki in Fallkulla. She comes into contact with all the natural animals and she is used to horse riding a lot. One of her horses is named 'Pearl' she always thought there is something about the soul in a horse's eye, her horse was everything and all her life offered to her she so she loves to ride 'Pearl' tournaments especially. Her Father and Mother are really proud of Lily and her horse ‚Pearl‘ she starts to partake in championships between the year 2008-2009 her horse was trialed but they were only awarded bronze, still she doesn't do it to be successful but because she likes her horse very much and keeping Pearl satisfied and full of spirit and happiness is her first priority.  
 
At 20 years old before the series of consequences that have happened after the Black Mesa incident and the 7 hour war Lily falls in love, a kind and handsome man his name was Brandon Brown they get to know each other at the Finnish Spring Festival  at the Helsinki Temple Fair in 2007, Brandon was an integrated citizen from Beijing they both start to like each other more and more until the beginning of the Seven Hour War.
 
Combine started to raid the cities and metropoles first, tower after tower appearing everywhere until they spread out and attacked the rural areas Brandon was still with Lily at the time while Combine creatures invade spawned by portal in less than a few hours during the storms. Their parents had been shot in cold blood before their eyes, so Lily and her boyfriend Brandon have to run and manage to escape barely from the hands of the opressors and make their way to the stall knowing that the only rescue is with and chance to survive is to ride Pearl since its the fastest horse they had known and by pure luck and skill they both get on top of Pearl and jump over the fences and evade any Combine creatures and armed units. They make their way to the forest and escape through the lands of lakes, rivers and sea areas as they keep close to the forest avoiding combine aircrafts.
 
Society devastated and at zero they both struggle for food, she still loves the horse and her boyfriend Brandon but sooner than earlier they notice something outrageous. That wild life decreases more and more, falls and ceases to exist at one point and there was no way of finding any meat or food from plants because they no longer yielded any fruits and farming was no longer possible under normal conditions for them because they are in constant fear and travel through forest and after that to the next location while their sourroundings become more hostile to life. Walking the lands void of nourishment eventually they started to starve after a month but the horse was still with them she knew how to keep him alive, Pearl turned out good as she feeds him good quality of grass that should be able to get all the nutrients the horse needs.
 
Brandon tough, feels very tiresome, always complaining to his beloved one that he starves to death but he isn‘t malnourished despite the fact he thought they will survive. Nevertheless even in his heart he has no doubt that she loves the horse more than him making him very jealous. Keeping the horse well and alive made Brandon crazy, there is no way that they could survive on their own any longer he keeps complaining. He even stares intently at the horse on certain nights he knew Lily will be sad if anything happens to her horse but he couldn‘t hold himself longer. Lily keeps telling him ‚no‘ and that 'Pearl' is something different and that her horse is not livestock but has a living soul just like Brandon and that she loves Brandon just as much as Pearl. What was supposed to happen happened. One night Brandon jumps out of his sleeping bag at midnight, their temporary camp they both build in the night. He grabs his knife and rushes over to the horse it was sleeping so he silently walks over to it and slices its throat open and slaughtered the horse 'Pearl' afterwards as his newfound banquet.
 
Lily hears this of course and jumps out of her bed noticing that there is something wrong, Brandon was nowhere to be found in a blink of an eye she hears the animal and panics when she smells blood and hears screams of Pearl she is in shock jumps up and makes a sprint to the outsite she sees what seems like abstract to explain: A violent, necessary and sacrificial scene she mutterers to herself that he did not do it and that she did not do. Creating fake memories about the scene to make sense for her and why 'Pearl' has to die. She drop to knees seeing both their loved ones, one eating the other feeling sensations of anxienty in her chest smiling to her boyfriend. He has already started to eat the meat and the contents inside the horse that is no longer a horse telling Lily it is his banquet, Brandon smiles keeping his gaze towards 'Pearl' and glances over to his back. Lily somewhat keeps up her smile walking towards the horse eating it too still talking to herself full of frustration that she is not actually eating 'Peal' creating a story where none exists and they both finish their meal in the end. The sacrifice, the moment that she starts to eat her horse 'Pearl' sharing it with Brandon and denying it at the same time, she developed the condition Self-defeating personality disorder always remembering it. During re-educations flashbacks usually occur while everytime she feels pain it causes her to feel anxienty triggering fake memories of: ‚ that she did not do it‘.
 
They both make their way out of the Forest one day and they both are very malnourished. Brandon starts to randomly avoid Lily and makes the run for it leaving her alone. Certainly Brandon lost his mind as well. Alone with herself and feeling that there is something wrong about Lily, her mental state weakening their physical condition more and more she turns into an hysterical woman. Lily doesn't even notices that her friend is long gone a week after. She still talks to herself thinking its him, still in her heart she is with Pearl and survives with Brandon, happy memories of the past and fake memories create a fake identity of Lily. In the end she runs straight into the arms of the opressors that were looking for slaves relocating her to city 24 where the main story begins.
