Q: What is the goal for this category? A: The goal is to collect all 9 Jewels of Truth, which then merge into the Gem of Truth, which allows you to see your fatigue and strength. A: Normally yes, this would probably take way too long to do in one sitting, but there's a pretty hot glitch that was found by NicotheChihiro called the 6AM glitch that allows to do a lot of things to cut down the time considerably. Q: Doesn't the Mountain Cottage require you to be married for 50 in game YEARS?! A: Yes, but one of the things the 6AM glitch lets you do is stack all the cutscenes back to back, so if I make the anniversary cutscene happen over and over I can eventually unlock the Mountain Cottage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNyDdodQ_4c Q: But you need the Town Cottage too, and that's EXTREMELY expensive isn't it?! A: Yes. In almost every version of Friends of Mineral Town (FoMT/MFoMT/SoS remake) The Town Cottage costs 100 Million, and that doesn’t count having to gather/buy other materials... EXCEPT for whatever reason the Japanese version of More Friends of Mineral Town has the price cut down to 10 Million. Still a lot but it's slightly more reasonable at least. I also really don't understand why they reverted it back for the international release as well as the Story of Seasons remake but w/e. A: One of the benefits of running MFoMT over OG FoMT is there are a couple additions that make it a lot easier to grind cash in a speedrun. A: Long story short, this was actually my first idea for speedrunning Friends of Mineral Town back when I first saw the HM/SoS community being built up way back around 2015... I think. It was a LOOONG time ago. After realizing how unviable the category would be for speedrunning at the time I was demotivated to pick FoMT up as a speedgame until around 2019 when the remake was announced... but regardless of that I wanted to do this now in order to fulfill a past goal I could never meet way back when.
