Fluffy Cultivation System Valky and Nyanko Edition Stage 1: Opening The Body The first step on the path of this cultivation is, as is true for many types of cultivation, establishing the base foundation that will be built upon in future. In this case, the cultivator will start to attune themselves to nature, and draw in the various different Qi’s of the world. At this stage it matters little the purity or affinity that they take in. Great purities will speed up this process but will not end with a notably better result. The purpose of drawing in this energy is to refine the body into that of a Natural World body. The Qi of the world must be able to flow into and out of body smoothly. Only once the cultivator has reached the point where the Qi is able to flow into their body as smoothly as through air, will the stage be considered complete. This body is highly attuned to Qi of any affinity, though less for each individual element than other more specialised techniques. In terms of durability, speed, and power, the body will triple in amount. Stage 2: Setting The Seed With the stage set, the cultivator will begin to step on the path of proper cultivation. Now that the Qi of the World is able to freely enter their body, they will start to draw in that very same Qi. For each type of Qi affinity, they will be able to condense a large number of strands into a seed of power within their dantian. Once this seed is formed, they will be able to draw on it’s power. Doing so will require manifesting a physical extension of the seed though. This takes the form of a tail-like appendage that grows from the cultivator’s lower back. The ‘fur’ on this tail acts like roots, absorbing the Qi from the air like water. As the seed matures the fur will grow longer and fluffier, to increase its surface area and better absorb Qi. The cultivator at this point has the option of condensing additional seeds of power. This comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. More seeds means that the cultivator will have a larger well of power to draw upon, as well as a larger variety of elemental affinities that they will be able to use. But each additional seed that the cultivator forms will also ensure that future cultivation stages will progress more slowly. It is important to note that seeds do not have to be of a different affinity. For instance it is perfectly possible to cultivate three flame seeds, three water seeds, and two earth seeds. Unless the cultivator has a special physique, the most number of seeds their body is able to take is nine. Stage 3: Natural World Harmonization This stage is incredibly important to future cultivation stages. The better this stage is completed, the more ease the practitioner will have in many of the future steps. They must learn how to harmonise themselves with both their seeds and the world around them. The practitioner will form a bridge between the seeds and the world, allowing the world to further nourish the seeds while in turn using the seeds to gain further control over the elements present within the world. Doing this will ensure that the seeds will flourish to their fullest potential while affording the practitioner grand scale use of the elements. Where before they might be able to conjure fireballs or heal small wounds, they could now cause roaring bonfires and send out crackling strikes of lightning. Stage 4: Nascent Kitsune Birth With the seeds now fully grown, it is time for them to bloom. The practitioner will draw each seed into their soul, where a connection will be made. This is a slow process that cannot be rushed, but will end with each seed gaining its own spirituality. That spirituality will quickly grow stronger until each of the seeds of power have developed their own souls, connected at the most base level to the practitioners. Once complete, those nascent souls will use the power of their Qi to manifest into the world. Each of these seeds will take the form of a small childlike foxgirl. Due to their young age, these chibis will act in a rather childlike way, if with a bit of foxy flare. Despite this, they will listen to the orders of the cultivator, for they are extensions of the cultivator’s will. Each foxgirl will be able to control their specific element, often with greater control than the cultivator themselves. Stage 5: Soul Maturation Otherwise known as the stage of parenthood, throughout this stage the cultivator will continue to harmonise with the world and channel that power into their Nascent Kitsune. By doing this, the kitsune will grow and develop. Their power and mastery of said power will quickly increase, while their bodies will swiftly grow up to match the maturity of their master. As they grow up, the kitsune will harmonise not just with the world but also with each other. For every sister they have, they will begin to develop an additional tail, further increasing their own absorption of natural energies but also increasing the amount of energy they will need to take in to fully mature. Stage 6: Elemental Purification Now that the Nascent Kitsune are acting as conduits to the Qi of the World, the cultivator will stop synchronising themselves with the world personally and will instead focus on learning to properly synchronise with the Nascent Kitsune. By doing this they are able to further their connection to the elemental affinity of that Kitsune, which grants them further control over the energy. At the same time, the increased synchronisation with the cultivator will help grow the energy reserves of the Nascent Spirit which then creates a feedback loop thereby strengthening the cultivators own reserves. Once properly synchronised the cultivator will help purify the Qi that the Kitsune takes in. This stage will only end once the cultivator has a strong enough connection to their nascent souls that they can synchronise with them all at the same time. Stage 7: Kitsune Soul Mantling Where the previous stage focused on spiritual synchronisation to improve the use of energy, this stage focuses on a more physical kind of harmonisation. The cultivator will slowly learn to physically fuse with their Nascent Kitsune. This will raise the ability of their body two-fold for each Kitsune they fuse with at once. While fused, the cultivator will also be able to manifest the traits of the kitsune they are combined with, potentially taking their entire form if need be. Once the bodies are able to reach perfect harmonisation, the bodies of both the cultivator and the Nascent Kitsune will undergo a permanent refining and leave them far stronger than prior. This increased closeness will also further raise the control the practitioner has over the Qi of the World. Like the previous stage, this stage will be complete once the practitioner is able to perfectly fuse with every Nascent Kitsune at the same time. Stage 8: Aspecting Of Elements At this stage, the cultivator themselves is much less involved. Rather, the Nascent Kitsune will begin to cultivate their own Kitsune Tail souls. While the cultivator originally turned an elemental seed into a Nascent soul, the Nascent Kitsune will focus on developing the individual aspects of the elements from which they were born. This will advance depending on the depth of both their own and the cultivator's understanding of that element. Once fully developed, these tail spirits will bud off into their own nascent kitsune spirits for those more focused aspects. If the cultivator has insufficient understanding of their elements, they may only end up with two or three buds. Once these buds have flourished into fully grown Nascent Kitsune this stage will be over. Stage 9: Grand Soul Establishment The budding does not simply stop at the previous stage. The aspected Nascent Kitsune will also continue to bud. However, at this point they are far enough removed from the original soul that these buds will begin to take on traits less in line with the founding elements. Buds from a fire seed and a lightning seed may find that their own buds are much closer to one another. While slow at first, as more buds form and mature they themselves will begin to bud and will thus speed up the process of multiplying. At heart, each bud is still connected to the original soul, and so as the buds multiply, grow, and then split again, so too does the soul of the user grow and stretch. As their soul grows, so too does their reserves of energy. Thousands of buds can form during the course of this stage, each a little bit different from the previous and each bring a slightly different flavour to the practitioner's soul. Stage 10: World Establishment The practitioner, having reached this stage will have many thousand kitsune buds. Their soul will have grown exceedingly large and powerful. Now it is time for the cultivator to make a home for these Nascent Kitsune. The cultivator will draw upon the power of every single one of the buds that has been created. The most recent buds will fuse with their parents, who will then do the same, until all the kitsune buds have come to rest within the body of the cultivator. Channelling the power of the elements that each kitsune commands, the cultivator will draw all of that power and mix it with their grand soul. Slowly, they will establish an internal world within their soul, complete with its own Laws and Mysteries. The Nascent Kitsune will appear throughout this world, and act as shepherds of its life. As they walk, so too will life appear behind their step, and so too shall Qi spread from their tails. After nine days this world will have become a world flourishing with life and kitsune. The laws of this world will be influenced to a degree by the variety of kitsune that went into its creation. Once the world is created, the practitioner will have Qi equal to a world unto themselves. The Kitsune that reside within will be able to leave and re-enter at their leisure.
