Your strategy will most likely change when you have defeated the pillars/moon lord once. A good thing to remember is that each pillar represents a class in the game. It is advised you go after your class's pillar first.

If the player defeats the Solar Pillar first, they can make Daybreak or Solar Eruption to help with the others. These are powerful melee weapons.

If the player defeats the Vortex Pillar first, they can make the Vortex Beater to help with the others. This is a very powerful gun.

If the player defeats the Nebula Pillar first, they can make the Nebula Glove to help with the others. This is a very powerful Magic Weapon.

If the player defeats the Stardust Pillar first, they can make the Stardust Dragon to help with the others. This is a very powerful Summon.
