LOG ADDED: 10/20/21 -start Subject: Dr. Ryuta Kawashima Noted by: Arthur Candler I don't believe I have to say much about the actual experimentation period here. The doctor's mind is a... very active one, and while we haven't pinpointed quite why, the Noise seems to be attracted to that. While usually I'd call it an asset, it wasn't quite what he needed in this scenario. Jack seemed very amused by that much, I suppose. At least it was a confirmation of what we'd initially expected, that the White Noise targets active minds before inactive ones. It seems he was attempting to understand the White Noise in some way. I respect his ever-inquisitive nature, but that's the way things go. Nothing much new to note here. Instead, I suppose an update on the current state of the location is in order. The previous subjects are starting to become more unstable, lining up with some observations of mine regarding the state of the Noise myself. It seems the number of experiments we're doing in the first place, especially in this short of a time, has been conductive to more hazardous working conditions. Of course, I've brought this up with my employer, but she is unmoved. Of course, the experiments will continue, and I have no agency in the matter. I suppose there's nothing I can do about it either way, but it's still driving me up a wall, put simply. As for the contenders left around? Lone Digger has been in his room for the last few days, hiding from everyone. As of the last few days, the rappers have been more furtive. As if I don't already know what's going on with the older of the two. Poor man. Parasites are notably annoying to deal with, but... perhaps there's more to it. I won't pretend that I know everything about alien biology. Speaking of the two, they were much less... active, about the experiments happening, when Kawashima was summoned. While before Jonesy's experiment, they had lashed out, attempting to stop me, this time they only stared in disgust. ...Another reason to feel guilt, I suppose. The remaining contenders for this round are waiting in the wings, preparing for their battles yet to come. I've come to look forward to seeing their clashes. Not because I enjoy what's set to come after, but because I've come to respect our guests in the Estate. Watching them do battle is... upsetting, but there's an element of intrigue with such an evenly-matched cast. Especially this deep into the game. I just wish it didn't have to end the way it does. Sometimes I wish I'd been put in charge of a much less damaging tournament. I've heard Mick has been having a good time running his own. I should check in on him at some point, having familiar company may help me out of this rut I seem to have found myself in. But, I suppose that will have to wait. I do not control when the rifts open and close. But when they next open here, I think I'll stop by and visit. Interestingly, I think I'm not the only one who's seen these rifts either. One of the contenders seems a little less than willing to talk about the Jetblack, as if... she's been there before. Perhaps I'll ask Mick. I don't intend to do much about it, though. My employer will never know, in any case. As long as I don't catch it happening, I won't stand in the way of it. Is there anything else left to mention in this report...? Ah, yes. I almost forgot. There seems to be some tension sparking up outside of the Estate's bounds regarding the tournament. Perhaps we'll have to pause the proceedings a bit before we move onto the next rounds. - UPDATE /// 10/27/21 - Yes, yes we did. Either way, I do suppose that we're back now. Hello again. Welcome back to our proceedings. While you're here, I suppose I'll let you in on some information regarding the future. We plan to hold another Q&A session featuring this round's winners, and the Winners Finalists, after Losers Round 2 ends. We hope you look forward to it.
