**Appearance**: Khamen is a young man who is commented to have a "debonair" air of mystery around him. He possesses fair skin, a slim build and is of average height. Both of his eyes are completely blank, implicating blindness, as such he always covers them with a tightly-wrapped black cloth. He has neck-length black hair that has a cowlick that stands up and sweeps back, starting at the lower right part of his hair, while bangs freely fall over his face. He commonly wears a buttoned black shirt with a chin-high collar that is kept open at the front. The buttons are diamond-shaped and made of what is presumed to be non-harmful crystallized Dust. He wears a red, checkered ascot-knotted scarf, fastened with a blue gem tie clip, that falls over his chest in length. He wears a pair of slim black pants that tuck into similarly-colored black dress shoes. He also appears to wear dark nail polish as well. In Beacon, he wears the Male Student Uniform, but retains his ascot scarf.
**Personality**: Khamen is a very enigmatic, but extremely intelligent character. He possesses a refined taste and extensive knowledge of the world around him, something that even Salem compares to her own encyclopedic knowledge. He prefers to think and act by himself, always keeping his intentions mysterious, and is therefore difficult to predict. Despite this, he is shown to be a very cool-headed individual and rarely displays signs of distress as a result. When not sharing crucial information, he usually teases those around him in a lighthearted yet condescending manner. Unfortunately, his positive traits are often overshadowed by his constant air of arrogance, making Khamen seem aloof and antagonistic to others. In addition to his outward characteristics, Khamen is also shown to have a strong perception far beyond that of an ordinary person. He displays a deep understanding of the world around him, and is often shown explaining the workings of the universe and the worlds within. Khamen is a mysterious individual, usually shrugging off complicated questions and giving responses that provide no definitive answer. As a result, his comments often leave it up to the receiver to judge whether or not he is telling the truth. Cinder often comments that if Khamen was her partner, she would have a very hard time trying to deduct his plans.
**Semblance**: Khamen's Semblance is called "Plasma". It enables him of creating, shaping and manipulating plasma,  a state of matter consisting of fully ionized gas of low density containing an approximately equal number of positive ions and electrons. The plasma is usually manifested as either orange-red fire or electricity or both, combining them as needed. Cinder states that Khamen's plasma burns slighty more than simple fire and electricity. Along with that, he can also generate solar flares and light by altering the atoms of his plasma, proving to be very versatile. He can also create constructs out of plasma, usually having a slight purple aura accompanying their structure as well. Its deadliest application, however, is the ability of manipulating pulses, a disturbance or one of a series of such transient disturbances that moves through a medium (gas, liquid, solid or energy) from one point to the next point. By utilizing this ability, he can create magnetic and force-fields, unleash energy waves and even manipulate sound to a certain degree. Salem speculates that Khamen's Semblance must have awakened when he was struck simultaneously by fire and electricity, alongside standing within an electromagnetic field.
Weapon: Khamen wields a Giga-10.Calliber GunBlade named "Bela Morte". According to James Ironwood, the gunblade is a weapon of Atlesian technology. True to its name, it has the form of a large sword and a gun. When it is switched into "Blade Mode", it can slice cleanly and swiftly through most obstacles, including the "bones" of Grimm. When switched into "Assault Mode", it changes into a smaller, SMG-like form, where it can fire automatic bullets like a rifle or concussive blast bullets like a shotgun or sniper rifle. It also has an inactive, compactile form, by folding the trigger and rear of the gun form, making it easier for transportation.
