  1. If you use an @w.cn or @9.cn email address with Hotmail or Outlook.com, you may have noticed your messages went missing from your mailbox. Beginning September 28, the owners of the w.cn domain made the decision to discontinue their domain’s use of Hotmail and Outlook.com as their mail services provider.

  3. Here is what to expect as a result (you may see #1, but all will see #2 below):
  4.

  6.
  7. 1. When you log in with your @w.cn or @9.cn account and view your mailbox, you may see that all of your messages are gone. The owners of the w.cn domain administer their domain’s mailboxes on the Hotmail and Outlook.com systems and chose to remove all of their @w.cn mailboxes. This is entirely in w.cn’s control and Microsoft cannot recover these mailboxes.
  8.
  9. 2. When you log in with your @w.cn or @9.cn account, you will be asked to choose a new email address for your Microsoft Account. Choosing a new address allows you to continue using the Microsoft services you logged into previously using your @w.cn or @9.cn address. Your @w.cn or @9.cn address must be changed and you cannot skip this step. Again, this is a result of the owners of w.cn and 9.cn discontinuing their use of Hotmail and Outlook.com services.

  13. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will continue using Microsoft services. Please understand that this in entirely out of Microsoft’s control. Please direct your inquires to w.cn if you require further information.
