When she begged her parents to let her take ballet lessons as a 6 year old they had thought it would just be a small hobby to relieve stress with, not to eventually grow into a love for both dance and music. So, when she told her parents that she wanted to become an idol instead of going to business school after uni and work with her father like they planned her to, you can understand that their reaction wasn't of the supportive type. They ordered for her not to do it and that she'd tarnish the family's reputation otherwise. Tae-Ra tried out business school for an year due to her parents persistence but quit as she was full-on set on becoming an idol.
