"And that concludes the show! Thank you all for attending, and I hope to see you again next time!"

A final round of applause at Naju Memorial Park. A lot of seniors had attended the magic show of this young gentleman known as Jonas Krone - free of charge! As his sign read, "The only price is your attention!" His Togetic assistant cheerily chirped as Jonas took one final bow, before putting his hat back on and stretching. Most of the seniors stuck around to thank him, as was expected - he got gifts and all that.

However, while most had come to watch, there were two present who were there for... other reasons. Investigation. One of them was Ezra, and the other was a prodigy detective in town - Brigid Whalen, Giratina's enforcer. Indeed, the two had noticed during the show that Jonas was using blessed magic - not the typical sleight of hand from common magicians. And it was their job to get potential information on him, if at all possible.

"So, how do you wanna approach this?" Brigid glanced over to her ally curiously.

"Don't see why we can't just ask. He seems like a nice enough boy." Ezra stretches languidly as he rises from his seat. "Wouldn't mind giving him something for the show first if you don't mind. I think I've got a mint or something here."

"Straightforward, huh?" Brigid closes her eyes. "Guess we could give that a shot. And yeah, feel free to give him something - that was a pretty cool show, business aside."

Eventually, the crowd files out, and Brigid makes her way over to Jonas, clearing her throat. "Hey, Jonas - nice show out there. I was here with my guardian, and I was wondering if we could maybe talk to you a bit? Just some questions. We won't take up much of your time, I promise."

"Well, how could I refuse an offer from the great detective herself?" Jonas winks towards her with a bow. "Sure!" He makes his way over with Brigid, and has a seat in between her and Ezra. "How may I be of service?"

He reaches into his jacket, pulling a hard candy from his pocket. Probably a mint, but it's hard to tell as he shakes Jonas' hand leaving the mint behind. "Well first of all, here. Show like that I'm sure your throat's tired. Second of all I'm not usually big on magic tricks but even I could tell some of what you were doing is a bit unconventional."

Jonas glances down at the mint and chuckles, popping it in his mouth. "Thank you, kind sir." As Ezra says "unconventional", he pauses for a moment, tilting his head. "... Whatever do you mean? A magician never reveals his tricks. I understand things may have seemed mystifying, but..."

"That was, uh, godly power." Brigid crosses her arms, unconvinced. "For certain."

"Oh." Jonas pauses, holding into his hat, before his eyes go wide. "Well, well! Seems I've run into quite an audience here. Who are you aligned with?"

Brigid glances to Ezra curiously.

"Hah, well aligned's a strong word. I ain't talked to any of the gods in a few decades." He lets forth a deep belly-laugh and pulls another candy, popping it in his mouth. And one more, offering it to Brigid. "This is just an old man's curiosity. I used to do knife tricks, you know?"

Brigid takes the candy and pops it in her mouth with an appreciative smile. "He's just an old friend, if you get what I mean. I'm aligned with Heatran, myself." To demonstrate, she holds up her gun, and her skin turns silver briefly.

"Ah! Say no more." Jonas bows his head politely towards the two. "I'm with Kuwansi. A powerful psychic, if I do say so myself! I do many research into the various legends the gods have."

"Kuwansi, hm? I didn't know he was involved in the war." Brigid poses the implicit question casually.

Jonas shakes his head. "Ah, well, he's not. I mostly prefer to stick to my research. And, you know, entertain people. It's quite fun to learn all about legends and entertain others!"

"I see. Just figured I'd ask about that stuff." Brigid seems satisfied with this information, and decides to move on, glancing over to Ezra. "Did you have anything to add? Whether it be on this or anything else."

Ezra doesn't actually say anything as he plays with his knife, letting it spin between his fingers, roll across his knuckles and twirl across his thumb - wait where did that knife even come from? "Haha, still got it! Hm? No, no. Nothing more from me. Oh, do you have a girlfriend, boy?"

Jonas doesn't seem very fazed by the knife trick, even giving a little clap and a bow - showman's respect, after all. "I don't believe I do, sir. Though there are a few girls out there I certainly wouldn't mind showing a great time, if you get what I mean. Why do you ask?"

Brigid blushes a bit at that. "Well, we've only just met..."

"Oh, don't be so modest. I could go for a fine lady like you, Brigid." Jonas gives her a wink and waves his hand. "Check your pocket." With that, he makes his way off cheerily, giving one more tip of the hat towards Ezra before going off to... wherever he lives.

Brigid checks her pocket curiously, finding a phone number. "He's... something, I'll say that much. We should probably report, huh?"

"Fair enough." Brigid shrugs, putting her gun away. After making sure nobody else is around, she takes out a small purple orb and tosses it down to the ground at her feet. The area quickly turns black, and out comes Ardri!

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! WHO DARES... oh. It's you guys."

Ardri eventually settles with a sigh. "So, I take it you learned about that Jonas guy, eh? What's his deal?"

"He's allied with Kuwansi. Apparently he's not involved in the war, so as far as I know, we shouldn't have to worry about him. Also, I think he just asked me out." Brigid glances to the phone number before stuffing it back in her pocket. "Less important."

"Well, that's all we needed to know. Good to check on blessed before they decide they wanna kill us, eh? Weed out the problems." Ardri grins and clasps his claws together. "Good job, you two! Even if this was exceedingly simple, you didn't screw up, which is more than anything the legion can say. Kudos!" And he's gone, just like that.

Brigid stares for a few moments before clearing her throat. "Right. Uh... can I get a coffee from your place? I could use a drink."

Ezra fiddles with the knife again, "Were we supposed to be weeding out the problems? My mistake. Ah well, it'll work out fine, I'm sure." He nods to Brigid, "I'll make you a harvest blend. Only five dollars, cuz I like ya." He laughs again and starts making his way back to the shop.
