  1. In an era where every student has to take at least a semester if not a year of basic-level computing courses in high school, this class is a complete waste of time. It is long-overdue to be updated: questions ask for responses that can only be given from operating systems that are ten or more years out of date, programs that are at least that old if not older, and assignments contain criteria that is by and large unnecessary in this day and age. It is likely that the average ten-year-old today could pass this class with a minimum of effort. All things considered, this class should be, if not completely removed from the required courseload, at the very least be utterly overhauled to update it for the second decade of the twenty-first century.
