  1. PERSONAL
  2. 1) Are you over the age of 17? Yes
  3. 2) How do you wish to be address by the management outside of character? [This means both in title and via how to contact you!] Bubbles! Or Sarah. Whichever is fine.
  4. 3) What are the best free days for you to be involved in group rps? (This is for scheduling group rps, nothing more!) Usually the weekends, or morning/early afternoon weekdays. I have a baby tho, but I’ll be sure to let someone know when and if I can’t respond to something.
  5. 4) What timezone are you in? Central!
  6. 5) Were you recruited by a member? If yes, who? Vixxey
  7.
  8. CHARACTER
  9. 1) What character are you auditioning for? Makoto Niijima
  10. 2) Why does this character interest you? She’s a multifaceted character and someone who develops and changes a lot during the game. On top of that, I personally love her—.
  11. 3) What are some minor headcanons you buying a punching bag and hung it up in her room for after some of her longer study sessions just so she could practice her akido on it or let off some steam. I also the idea that after the fall of Mementos, Makoto and her sister started spending a lot more time together, doing some of the things they hadn’t done since their dad passed away. Imagining she started trying her hand at poetry too is something that I really like the idea of!
  12. 4) What would you think is their tragic flaw? Her grandiose perceptions of what she thinks people expect from her, especially her sister.
  13. 5) What do you think are their greatest strengths? Her resolve, she’s insanely perceptive, and she’s incredibly dependable as a person and a friend.
  14. 6) What do you think they fear most? She has a problem with letting others in and relying on the people around her. Most of her life her sister took care of most of the financial things, and with her job she was incredibly busy, so all she really had was herself. Opening up is...terrifying.
  15. 7) If YOU could give them advice, what would it be? Sometimes being able to let people in around you can save you from self destruction, but to make that happen, you have to take a leap of faith.

  24. For the first time in months, Makoto Niijima was actually running late for school. Late night study sessions coupled with stake outs and high apprehension had seriously cut into the girls sleeping schedule, her third alarm barely jarring her awake that morning to hurry out the door. She was grateful that her sister had already gone to work for the day; dealing with the disapproving glare of Sae would’ve been far too much for the poor girl to take.
  25.
  26. Luckily she’d barely made it in time to catch the train to Aoyama-Itchome station, the student council President able to breathe out the tiniest sigh of relief as she supported herself against the nearest rail. Her hand clenched tightly around her bag strap, the only real indication of her mind’s inner turmoil. Her face was that same composed mask she always wore, not giving away any of the darkness brimming just beneath the surface of her darkened heart.
  27.
  28. As she stepped off of the train she collided with a body in a tracksuit she knew quite well, her eyes widening slightly in surprise at the girl standing before her. She was obviously one of the volleyball team members, and with the way she was favoring her left arm, Makoto couldn’t help but wonder if she’d just ran there from practice.
  29.
  30. “Are you okay?” She called out on impulse, a hand reaching out as if to help steady her, but that hand immediately retracted when she saw the look in the girl’s eyes. There was pain and distrust, mixed in with a loathing that rivaled even her own
  31.
  32. “Why do /you/ care?” The words were sharp knives in her spine, rooting her to the spot even as the girl limped away. Had she expected a different reaction than that? It was foolish of her to when she knew how the school population viewed her; to them, she was no more than a robot.
  33.
  34. ——
  35.
  36. “How’s your investigation into the Phantom Thieves going, Makoto?” Principal Kobayakawa’s voice barely resonated with her once she’d finally made it to his office, her posture straightening as the mask took its place upon her face.
  37.
  38. “Not as good as I’d hoped, sir...” the lie came out in a whisper, the girl already anticipating his displeasure with that news, “b-but I’m looking into some possible leads within the school! I’ll let you know if anything pans out..”
  39.
  40. “Well, see to it that you make it happen. If your sister had been on this case, it would’ve been solved weeks ago, and I’m losing my patience with these vague answers, Makoto. I need results.” His strict tone of his cut her almost as deep as her earlier altercation’s had, her hands clenching into fists at her sides to keep her from lashing out without intention. He always seemed to know just what to say to bring her down to her lowest level, and she knew it was how he kept her under his thumb. Why did she keep exposing herself to this? “Your letter of recommendation is on the line here, as well. Don’t disappoint me.”
  41.
  42. After a moment, Makoto gave a firm bow of her head, her knuckles white from the strain of her grip. The only words she spoke in response were “...Yes, sir. I won’t let you down,” before she finally made her way out of his office. Her shoulders were quivering, the vast ocean of regression of doubt inside of her already threatening to swallow her whole. What had she done to deserve this? No amount of questioning would yield an answer, so why should she even try.
  43.
  44. She must’ve been subconsciously looking around the hallway the moment the familiar blonde rebel walked by, his disheveled uniform and boisterous tone making him stand out from the crown like a sore thumb. The boy at his side definitely did a better job of blending in with the masses, but after all of the nights Makoto had found herself staking out Cafe Leblanc in her desperation to catch him in the act, even he couldn’t hide from her calculative gaze. It was funny how seeing them could calm the hurricane that raged on inside of her, the doubt she normally harbored being brought to the surface with just one question: were the Phantom Thieves really as bad as everyone was making them out to be?
  45.
  46. As she followed the duo out into the courtyard, Makoto had a feeling she’d find out the real answer to that soon enough.
