Question Details

I have a fulltime offer from Microsoft (Seattle) with a very rigid deadline approaching soon. I am in the recruitment process for some other good companies (top 5) but there is no way I will get the final decisions from them before my Microsoft deadline. So, I am having a hard time deciding what to do.

Microsoft was my dream job till like 2 years back but as my experience has increased, I have realized that the culture and the product I will be working on matters a lot. So, I have the following concerns regarding MS:

1. As a fresh graduate, I want to be in an energetic, passionate environment. I want to feel young inside the company. Microsoft is very old company and I am concerned if I will find that over there.

2. I haven't used any Microsoft product in a long time (apart from Office). I am concerned if Microsoft is still making cool, game-changing, 21st-century products for the common folks?

3. Reputation: In 2017 - what's the reputation of an MS employee?- For other big companies? For newly successful startups?

4. Seattle vs Silicon Valley (or San Francisco) as a place to live, meet people, and enjoy weekends.
