  1. So you want to be a Community Guide?
  2. Well the first thing you need to do is break down the Name "Community Guide"
  3.
  4.
  5. Community- You will be on the front lines, dealing dirrectly with the community. This means you have to be on the top of your game at all times because you will get some crazy questions and some times you will also be insulted and provoked, but you must always keep a level head, and never let your temper get out of controll. If you have issues with anger or not being able to be patient, this is not the position for you.
  6.
  7. Guide- Your main goal in P.W.O. as a CG is to answer question and help players starting their adventures. So you must have a strong knowledge of the game and how things work. Now this part of the job can get annoying very easily because you will be asked the same question hundreds of times, and it can be frustrating. The most important thing to remember here is your main purpose in P.W.O. is to help the players, not moderation.
  8.
  9. Sometimes the chat can get out of line, so it is also part of our job to help moderate. We have a few tools at our disposal that are used to keep the chat in line, but remember "With great power, comes great responsibility". I know it sounds cheesy, but it is true. Abuse of these powers is not tolerated. Also please remember to use the powers accordingly, someone swearing in chat maybe grounds for a mute but not enough to warrant a kick. We follow a system that is similar to a "3-Strike" system, warn, 30 second mute, 60 second mute, 120 second mute, kick. Some things may be more severe than others just use your best judgement on those and you should be fine.
  10.
  11. Now I want to come straight out and say it, being a Community Guide is highly rewarding if you enjoy helping people, but it is not fun. We are the group that takes the most abuse from the players because we are the ones that deal directly with the community. You also have to have the ability to look past friendships and make the right decision. If a friend of yours is swearing in the chat it is your responsibility to take the appropriate action and not just ignore it because they are your friends.
  12.
  13. Also Since you are becoming staff, you will have to carry yourself in a professional manor. Remember you are not a player anymore you are a representative of P.W.O. now. As such, once you are out of your apprentice stage and settled in as a CG you will no longer be able to interact with the players of the game like you used to. While on your staff accounts you are no longer aloud to battle or trade, but you can have a player account so you can still enjoy the game.
