  1. Seals aren’t meant to be broken.
  2.
  3. What do six seals, six dragons, and twelve warriors all have in common? Power.
  4. -
  5. “Elder, we have found them.” A young dragon exclaimed, bowing his head in respect. “We found them and have brought them all here at your request sire.” He continued. “They are in the burman.” His head stayed low, his eyes downcast as a sign of submission. His body clad in black scales, indicating he was used as a night spy. The young dragon before the elder finally looked up. “Sire, they are none too happy about this.” He said softly, in the softest tone he could possibly manage.
  6.
  7. The elder held up a brisk hand to gently silence him. “No more.” He said with a harsh, leading tone. “Go now. Your job is complete, Tians.” The elder said, waving him off. The young dragon known as Tians quickly obliged as told and stood. “Yes M’lord.” He replied, turning on his heel and trotting out of the palace from whence he came. The elder stood, his bones cracking as he did so. Time was not so kind to the male, his body living through so many centuries he lost count, He already lived 2 millennia and probably would live 1 or 2 more before his death. He was over 200 years old, easily one of the oldest dragons still living among the Karnsh.
  8.
  9. Upon his body he was clad in velvet, a long, black cape. Around his neck it was tied gently, but securely that it would not fall off. Beneath the cape was his broad shoulders and straight chest. Even In his older years he was merely only half as old as his average living span as such his body in appearance was in wonderful shape. The black cloak he wore, outlined in a royal purple, flowed down his back, and onto the floor, just a few feet longer then the male was tall. At 8 feet tall the male was no small man. His shoulders easily were as wide as a adolescent dragons’. Down from his shoulders his chest was bare, toned pair of pecs and defined abdominals were revealed as he stood. Going more into detail, if you looked up you could see his face. Eyes set on a destiny only described in oracles.
  10.
  11.
  12. The man walked from his chambers out and down into the burman. A burman was a dragonspeak term. It meant the gallery, commonly known to humans as a meeting hall. His steps were loud as his feet brought him down the spiraling stairs to the burman. Before him were two large, enough for a full sized dragon to walk through, doors infront of him. Each door was hand carved, crafted by the most skilled workers. Each of them had a drawing of a dragons face, the skull, horns, teeth, and hard set eyes. Each also had a bit of color carved into it using flower dyes. The doors themselves being older then the elder was. His hand stroked over the decretive cover gently, fearing the worst as he thought about what was to come. He furrowed his brow before shoving the doors open gently, but hastily. “Men, women.” He started, not even looking up as he strode into the room. “We are all gathered here, either by our will to be here, or the chains that bind you, to unite in unison and defeat what looms over us all.”
  13.
  14. The room was filled from top to bottom with Dragons, and humans alike. Some had given the convenience of their humanoid form to the room, some had been more rude and stood in dragonesque stature. A low growl was emitted from a few of their jaws as they contemplated what a betrayal would do if they rose up to fight against the male that lead them all. Most decided against it, either from fear, or out of respect. The few that didn’t stayed there glaring.
  15.
  16. The elder crossed the room taking a seat at his throne in the front of the room. “All of you are here for a reason.” He said scanning the room. “We have a battle coming, foretold through the ages. One that will test us all,” He continued. “Shall you fail this test, it will be all over, or rather…the beginning of our nightmare will resume.” He spoke with wisdom beyond all of their years. “I know the sum of you all detest these ideas. These plans. But fear not my brothers, my sisters. The end is in the making, and looking past our quarrels with eachother is the only way of redeeming our once proud world.”
  17.
  18. A few dragons became less tence, some of the humans there were still none too pleased.
  19.
  20. One women spoke up. “Why us? Why would you chose the ones who hunt you down, to kill you, to be an ally?”
  21.
  22. The elder looked to her and bowed his head. “A fair question, young lady.” He started, “…And one that is to be answered by looking in your own heart.” His hand went up to his face to touch his forehead lightly with his pointer and middle finger. “The answers you seek are not in this old mind, but in your own.” He said wisely, taking the same hand from his face and pointing to her gently. “Think with your heart, not your fist, not your weapons. Why unite two sides by force who have been enemies since the dawn of our age?”
  23.
  24. The female scowled, this was one of the main things she hated about dragons. They sought peace, but were the cause of all the unrest. She could still remember the say when she first heard of dragons, first saw one. It was also the day she learned true pain. A beast of the skies had been the one to befall her village that fateful day. It was the day her world was shattered. “I think I speak from all of us ‘mortals’ when I say this…With all due respect…” She only said it that way because she was afraid for her life if she disrespected someone with so much authority. “…but your liege, I don’t think any of us FUCKING CARE!”
  25.
  26. The elder snapped his eyes onto her and growled softly. “Calm your tongue.” He said, with a wave of his hand. The females eyes widened and she grabbed her throat, unable to speak. She mouthed the word “beast” at the elder. And stood still, not like she had a choice, all of the hunters brought here were secured down by their ankles to the floor. The rest of the hunters glared at the elder, keeping their mouths shut. They didn’t want to end up like the women there.
  27.
  28. The dragons were another story. All 6 dragons stood there proudly.
  29. Each of them provided an element to the table; fire, water, ice, earth, wind, and last of all steel or metal.
  30. First to speak was Kraven, a hotheaded leader of fire, a young dragon with a temper the size the volcano that he lived within. He had much respect for his elder, but he wasn’t in agreement with the current happenings. “Sir, “ He tried being cautious of his words. “…why would we have to pair with some worthless humans to proclaim what is already ours? We hold the seals already, why would we need some pathetic humans to tell us what to do?”
  31. The elder ignored his question. “Sit, and be silent, Kraven.” He replied.
  32. Kraven growled but did as was requested of him. “…yes sir…” he answered respectfully.
  33. Of the other dragons in the hall, most of them stayed quiet. The second one to speak up was the coldest. She was ruthless, and she had an icey cold heart. Her name was Glacia; the leader of the tundra. She growled stepping up. “I refuse to make a pact with one such as he.” She said in a growling, low tone, pointing to the man that was to be her rider. Her white scales shimmered as she moved her head infront of his. “Pathetic human…” She said. Snarling at him softly before pulling her massive head away and moving back to her spot.
  34. “You have no choice.” The elder answered simply. He didn’t want to answer anymore questions about why he did what he did. He sorted the humans from the dragon, putting each dragon with a certain human. Kraven was paired with the hotheaded women who spoke out of turn. Glacia was paired with the silent man leaning back against the wall. Renten, Elrain, Arthon and Karvis were paired with the remaining 4 humans, all 8 of them assorted genders.
  35. “Remember, if you stray too far from your pact partner, you will weaken until the bond between you has been connected once again, if you feel pain, your partner will feel pain. So if I was you, I’d mind your teeth, lest you feel your own jaws in your flesh.” He finished, then dismissed them. “Farewell my friends, do make the right choices with all of this.”
  36. Kraven and Glacia both took off from the room angry at who they were paired with. The other 8 also took off, but less quickly and upset then the others.
  37.
  38.
  39. Down the steps the large, white ice dragon prowled; a human unfortunately close behind her. The whole idea behind this forced treaty was absurd to her. To allow this man, this dragon killer to ride upon her back as if the blood of her kind had never stained his hands; it was an outrage. She turned slowly, facing her pact partner. “Don’t think you’re going to be riding me.” She said, rather bluntly. “I know what you are, what you’ve done, and I don’t like it in the least; since killing you, kills me, I’ll take my chances with neither.” She said, digging her razor sharp claws into the slope they stood upon. All around her were pillars, of pure gold. The accented the awning that arched over the exit to the hill they were on. The top of the hill had been leveled away, flattened and built upon. It was paved in cement, smoothed over time to be a like a sheet of glass, marbled beauty. Such was always the work of dragons.
  40. Below her feet the marbled, smooth cement was starting to crumble under the severe pressure from her talons. Looking down and noticing this she moved her head down to breath over it, causing an icy layer to appear on the part she had maimed. One last glare at her newest obligation she opened her wings and took flight into the air; the muscles in her powerful appendages pulsing with blood as they lifted her heavy body skyward. Her eyes closed to the air current as her feet pulled up close to her body, to make her more aerodynamic. She left her rider in the dust purposefully, soon feeling a small tug to her chest. She kept flying and soon started to pant, her vision becoming rather blurry. She was forced to turn back, and land beside him. She had caused the bond to weaken by flying too far and now was tired. “Dammit, he wasn’t lying.” She said in one breathe then grabbed the hunter in her large maw, his body about the size of her head and neck combined. She growled mindful of her fangs; took off again into the sky, ignored the hunter if he made any noise, and headed back to her home.
  41. After many hours of this flight she dropped him rather roughly down an icy hole. Soon, she crawled down into the crevice as well, curling up in the large space.
  42.
  43. “May as well make yourself at home here.” She growled to the male, curled up away from him for the time being.
