  1. Alright, so I’m sure you guys have heard of the phrase, “Money doesn’t buy happiness”. Well, it’s true to a certain extent. Consumers in the present-day, many of us for example, resort to shopping as a way to uplift our mood. This “happiness” doesn’t last forever, at least not until the next fad is introduced to the society. It seems as if the main motive people live by is the motive of making money. Ironically, we make money to simply spend it on things we don’t necessarily need, but rather buy just to be a part of the current fad, which ties into the idea of our needs vs. our wants.

  3. I mean, a prime example would be myself. I have an iPhone 4. I used to have a crappy phone, and all my friends sort of had the newest trends such as blackberry and the iPhone, so I quickly fell into the fad and went out and purchased an iPhone 4. I mean, I was happy with my old phone; however, my mind had been set on fitting in.

  5. I guess you can say that corporations have in a way, “altered” our idea of happiness. Rather than viewing happiness as an emotion, it is often based on materialistic things such as clothing, jewelry, and gadgets which aren’t fundamental when it comes to happiness.
