  1. Hey guys, how’s it goin?
  2.
  3. I am hitting walls I was not expecting to hit yet with the #PPL2021 qualifying. The Easy is great, the Normal got slightly better than good, the Hard got slightly better than average, but the V-Hard got close to levels that were once thought unreachable. My best V-Hard was 18 seconds behind foxyman's record. I was ONE MINUTE AHEAD going into final boss Mewtwo. I finished with a 9 second improvement. I'm still salty. I'm salty because it's not in my best interests to grind it further at this very moment. I'll make up the most ground on #1 Tayman at this juncture by improving my S-Hard time. I might be adjusting S-Hard downward in favor of Easy/Normal/Hard if no one else signs up, but two people have not submitted runs to this point and I know of at least three others who have either expressed interest in joining or always find themselves joining last minute. I think we can get to 16 people just from the known quantities. The point is, S-Hard has the most room to improve, but needs an absurd amount of attention from me to try and improve it. Therefore, I'm going to move my focus to improving it this week. I am prepared to get beaten down in order to get the #1 seed. If I get sub-20, I might go back to Hard mode.

  18. P.S. I totally thought I posted a Pastebin last week, but I just plain forgot. Below is what I would have posted. Let's call it the #LostPastebinMonday:

  20. Should I Still Be Calling it Qualifying? Edition
  21.
  22. Hey guys, how’s it goin?
  23.
  24. One week into the qualifying stage (It should be 'seeding' at this point, no?) and the Pokemon Puzzle League tournament is showing how wild it's going to be. Last year's runner-up foxyman completed his runs for the month with a sub-20 S-Hard, a sub-13 V-Hard, and falling one second short of Normal WR—and defending champion Tayman has beaten just about all of them. On top of that, I've set competent times to beat for Easy and V-Hard. Once FFR submits his times, we'll really be seeing the top 4 take shape. Man, I don't have the energy to keep up with all this like I used to. I'm almost getting too old for this.
  25.
  26. Don't let that stop you, though. We could always use more people to join in the fun so make sure you sign up at puzzlegeneral.challonge.com/PPL2021. Just sign up and submit a run and you're in! I'm still looking for people to help run the tournament, too. If you have something you can contribute, sign up!

  28. This week's schedule will feature a lot of prep:
  29.
  30. Wednesday – 8pm EDT – PPL2021 Qualifying Day 4 - Normal/Hard – Estimate: 2 hours
  31. Thursday – 8pm EDT – Final Fantasy X is Getting a Little Toasty Out Here – Estimate: 2 hours
  32. Friday – 8pm EDT – Friday Night Salt Mines with !pg and Pokémon Puzzle League Qualifying Day 5 – Estimate: 4 hours
  33. Saturday – 5pm EDT – PPL2021 Qualifying Day 6 - S-Hard – Estimate: 4 hours
  34.
  35. I didn't get to anything with the broadcast layout this weekend. I hope I don't have to take days off just to make sure I get everything I need to launch the preview stream on the 4th, but you should be prepared for me to have to do that.
