  1. Sunday, February 16th, 2020, starting around about 9 PM, PST.
  2.
  3. *Basil waves to the Kai as he walks in and settles on the cliff overlooking the water.*
  4. *Konsatsu turns his head to the side and looks towards Basil, slowly rising to his feet and walking over to the boy, "Hello Basil. What brings you here today?"*
  5. Basil: heh, mostly visiting. I made friends with Zion after all and wanted to continue where he and I had left off in training with each other. Felt I'd come around and say hello to you as well.
  6. *Konsatsu nods as he looks down at Basil, "I see I see. Well you have great timing, as I there was something I wanted to teach you, if you're interested of course."*
  7. *Basil smiles as he stands up and turns to face Konsatsu. "I'd be honored to learn from one of the divine of creation."*
  8. Konsatsu: I would show it to you, but it is quite dangerous. It is a Purifying Light of sorts. It has the ability to obliterate any evil or malicious person and sort of purify their soul. It's known as the Genki Dama.
  9. *Basil nods as he listens, weighing the words gently as the Kai spoke. "Something that could have been used for the greater good during the Glaza trouble." And that was no lie. Glaza had been a NIGHTMARE.*
  10. Konsatsu: It can only be used by those pure of heart. As well as if you accidentally hit an ally, it will still cause damage to them, just not killing them instantly.
  11. *Basil nods as he listens. He then reaches into a pocket and draws out a pencil and a notebook, and begins to jot down the information given so far. "That is a relief, I wouldn't want to hurt an ally by accident if I could help it."*
  12. Konsatsu: It can only be used by those pure of heart. As well as if you accidentally hit an ally, it will still cause damage to them, just not killing them instantly.
  13. *Basil nods as he listens. He then reaches into a pocket and draws out a pencil and a notebook, and begins to jot down the information given so far. "That is a relief, I wouldn't want to hurt an ally by accident if I could help it."*
  14. Basil: of course. I would like to, yes.
  15. *Konsatsu gestures towards the open clearing, "Come. We will spar to test if your body is capable of handling the technique."*
  16. *Basil follows and smiles, taking his stance up gently, keeping much of the lessons Zion had given him to heart and preparing for the Kai to test him. He'd also remove his headband in order to allow the weights to not impede him. It wouldn't be right for him to hold back, afterall, as this is a case of needing to test him.*
  17. *Konsatsu lowers himself slightly to the ground, his movements seeming graceful and slow. He raises a hand towards Basil and gestures him forward to attack, "Come on then, let's begin."*
  18. *Basil nods, and then launches himself forward, as fast as he can.*
  19. Basil is knocked out by low health!
  20. *Konsatsu nods as he looks down at Basil, "Mhm. Mhm... You are more than physically capable of learning the technique. You will be the second person I've ever taught this move in all of my time as a Cardinal Kai."*
  21. *Basil pants and grunts, swallowing a bit in order to help draw air into his lungs, that fight was quite a feat of strength and agility in quite a few places, and energy in a few others. He nods and slowly got up, standing as he dug into his pocket and pulled out a capsule, releasing the re generator he usually uses to help himself get back into fit state. "Thank you...who was the first?"*
  22. *Konsatsu raises a hand to his chin for a moment, before closing his eyes and smiling slightly, "It was long ago, maybe one hundred or two hundred years after I first received my post. There was another Human warrior by the name of Josudai, he was an exquisite swordsman as well as a Hero of his time. He showed up here after a brave battle with a man named Kayaba that ended with both of the warriors losing their lives. I took quite a shine to the boy and taught him everything I knew."
  23. A sad expression washes over Konsatsu's face for a moment, "Sadly, when I had sent him to go deliver a message to the Supreme Kai, he was jumped by a group of Demons and had his soul destroyed. Partially by one of my techniques and the other half by the demons."*
  24. *Basil blinks as he sees the expression fade to sadness, and he gently reaches to place a hand on the Kai's shoulder, softly rubbing in as comforting a way as he can without it being too... awkward. "That is... a sad tale. But I don't believe you were at fault of course. No one could have foreseen the demons attacking him. I am sure he fought bravely, and tried his hardest to get that message delivered."
  25.
  26. His face brightens a bit. "Perhaps you can use me as a sort of... redemption for the loss. Someone who can carry it on proudly. I have my life, afterall."*
  27. *Konsatsu slowly raises back to his feet, making a grand gesture around himself, "Alright, Lesson one. Understanding the meaning and philosophy behind the Genki Dama. This is going to be taxing both physically and mentally, so are you prepared?"*
  28. *Basil nods as he rises himself, stretching a bit and retrieving the notebook and pencil, as he moves to walk with the Kai. "I am prepared Konsatsu. My mind and body are both ready to learn as much as possible, and then some." He couldn't hide a bit of the anticipation in his step, but he would try to remain calm enough so that it wouldn't get in his way of the lessons.*
  29. *Konsatsu gestures around himself, "The first thing we must discuss is Genki. You have energy, or Ki as I've heard many call it, within you and you use that to fight. Within that energy is the Genki, the true building blocks of the universe. Every living being has Genki within them, from a single blade of grass to the strongest of warriors. Genki lives inside all living things. Another way I've heard Genki described is as 'Origin Ki', or the Origin of all Energy."*
  30. *Basil nods as he listened, writing it down in the notebook in order to both hear, see, and feel the words entering his mind. This was the best way for an individual to learn, through a mix of all types of learning methods. He underlined the part about Origin Ki and nodded, looking back up to the Kai. "The energy possessed by all."*
  31. Konsatsu: The Dama refers to the combination of Heaven and Earth's Essence. The energy is brought from every living thing as is an embodiment of Heaven and Earth's Ki.
  32. Basil: perhaps even other planets? I've been to Melchior's home planet of Acronia, its very similar to earth.
  33. Konsatsu: As long as you can draw energy out of a planet, it does not matter where you are. I refer to the Realm of the Living as Earth for the sake of simplicity. A more literal interpretation would be the Embodiment of the Afterlife and the Living World's Energies.
  34. *Basil nods as he marks this down, looking up at the Kai when he is done to let him know to proceed.*
  35. *Konsatsu nods as he watches Basil writing his notes, "When we combine the phrase together, we get a Ball of Origin Ki comprised of Heaven and Earth's Essence. Once you gather the energy, it must be formed into the shape of a ball to control it accurately."*
  36. *Basil draws his hand up to rub his chin as he asks "What are the repercussions of it not being in the shape of a ball? Too unstable and potential to explode?"*
  37. *Konsatsu closes his eyes to think for a moment, "Well, such a large and volatile amount of pure genki would be hard to shape into anything other than a ball. It would be a strain on the body to attempt to form it into anything else. I suppose it could be possible to shape it into something else, but it would be less efficient."*
  38. *Basil nods as he scribbles this down, drawing a circle, and marking it as 'most efficient' and then adds a random shape, marking it as 'dangerous and straining'. "I see, that would easily lead to someone accidentally killing themselves if they tried it wrong. Glad I asked."*
  39. Konsatsu: This move was also been called the Spirit Bomb by Josudai, which is also quite accurate. It is a ball of pure spirit energy that has the possibility to explode upon impact, so you can refer to it as either of these names.
  40. Basil: it certainly sounds very fitting for such a technique. If it has the power to defeat the absolute worse evils, then it certainly is a purifying spirit bomb.
  41. *Konsatsu looks around for a moment, "Hmmm, I see. I would like you to begin focusing on gathering energy under a tree. You should do this for quite a while, until you feel truly in touch with the world around you."*
  42. *Basil nods and smiles as he points at the nearby tree. "Will this one do?"*
  43. *Konsatsu shakes his head, "No, I have a specific tree in mind Basil."*
  44. Basil: ah, the large one.
  45. Konsatsu: This tree holds quite a large amount of energy within it, so it's a perfect place to begin channeling.
  46. *Basil nods and smiles as he gently settles into a crossed legs position with the tree behind him, resting his back on it as he breaths slowly and starts to feel for energy, calmly, and quietly.*
  47. *Konsatsu moves over to his tree and begins to observe the energy around themselves.*
  48. *Basil gently uses his own energy to start a bit, before reaching his hands out and holding them up, treating the energy much like an apple, taking with care, and thanking the plant for it's help. It would be very gradual, of course, not wanting to have the tree give more than it could handle.
  49.
  50. In the process, he is slowly syncing his breathing to the ebb and flow of the wind, his hands remaining still as stone, and his energy flowing like water to give way to what is offered to him.*
  51. *Konsatsu watches Basil with his eyes closed, noting in his head about how well the energy seemed to collect naturally towards the boy. He would comment on the progress that Basil made so quickly, but that would break the young man's concentration. Konsatsu just smiles and continues watching him practice.*
  52. *Basil kept collecting the energy and allowed it to rest near his arms. He'd hold it like a delicate flower, barely touching it with his own energy, in order to help maintain it's presence and not let it go to waste, as well as not letting it collect in any odd shape or form. He had to make sure he was careful with this energy, it was not meant to be wasted frivolously, and was meant to be used for the good of all.*
  53. *Konsatsu slowly rises to his feet and walks over to Basil, watching him from a distance, muttering to himself, "Hmmm. He's making great progress."*
  54. *Basil was soon in rather total sync with the environment around him, continuing to draw in offered energy from the tree. He doesn't ask for more than a bit from each, but of course, there were many leaves on the mighty tower of bark and plant matter. He'd lightly rub his back into the trunk of the tree as he focuses, likely making friends with the tree in a manner of speaking, as a means of letting it know he wasn't going to forget what it has offered, as he gently begins to build the energy into a small sphere. Not enough for an attack of course, but enough to maintain and feel.*
  55. *Konsatsu was quite impressed with the progress Basil had made. He soon walked up to Basil and lightly tapped him on the shoulder, trying to wake him out of the meditation, "Alright. You've completed this lesson. Next, you'll need to learn the proper stance and come up with a phrase to ask for energy from all things."*
  56. *Basil opens his eyes and nods, looking up to Konsatsu before he rises to his feet and gently offers the energy back to the tree, allowing the energy to return and revitalize the plant so that it continued to serve it's natural duties.*
  57.
  58. Monday, February 17th, 2020, after Midnight, PST.
  59.
  60. *Konsatsu nods to Basil, "So, your body has pressure points that allow energy intake and output. The most important for our purposes are the ones that are placed on the inside of your middle knuckle on both hands, the center of the soul of your feet, and right on the back of your head."
  61. He says all of this while pointing out the positions on the body.*
  62. *Basil nods as he picks up the Notebook and begins to write and note, he'd draw a simple stick figure in order to point out where the points on the body are, making special note that these are the most important for the technique. He does write an advisory to maintain all pressure points equally anyways, but to pay special close attention to those specified. "Those pressure points would be the contact points for most of the energy?"*
  63. *Konsatsu nods, moving his body into an X with his palms facing towards the sky, looking upwards, "Correct. And this is the proper stance to gather the energy in the most efficient way possible. Combine this stance along with a prayer for energy and you should be able to gather plenty of power."*
  64. *Basil nods as he thinks a bit, pondering on how to phrase it. "I think, the best way to give a prayer, is to kindly ask life, big and small, to offer what energy aid they can, to end the pain and suffering that evil is inflicting on the undeserving."*
  65. Konsatsu: A simple speech such as 'I call upon the trees and the water. The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars. The plants and the animals, all living things... Let me share your power!' may work for you.
  66. *Basil nods as he rubs his chin. "Likely the best way to ask, yes. And if its not enough still, ask any fighters around me as well to offer up what they can... or at the very least buy some time."*
  67. Konsatsu: This technique gets more powerful the longer you charge it. You can even reach out to the surrounding planets if you can sense that far.
  68. Basil: that would probably take some practice and patience of course. Though I imagine being more specific in my prayer in such a case would also help.
  69. Konsatsu: Indeed. Creating your own prayer may even help to channel energy better than mine would. Its all about practice.
  70. Basil: I will certainly try to come up with ones appropriate for the situation. Asking a whole planet if I don't know it very well after all would be risky.
  71. *Konsatsu gets a serious look on his face, "However. Remember that the Spirit Bomb is a martial arts discipline that allows you to borrow energy from grass and trees, from people and animals, from inanimate objects and the atmosphere... And then to concentrate them and release them. If you can draw so much destructive power from a ball made in this realm... ...Imagine what you can do with a Spirit Bomb formed on Earth! If you can also learn to tap into the astounding powers of the Sun... Well. Just be careful. Or you may destroy the very planet you're trying to protect!"*
  72. *Basil nods as he gets just as serious a look as Konsatsu. "Indeed. If it were a technique comparable to a person, it would be the Glaza of techniques. Very dangerous if left unchecked, capable of killing innocent lives, and damaging others. It would also be wise to save it as a last resort I believe... when the situation is dire and the stakes are too high to leave to a simple fight."*
  73. *Basil nods as he moves softly to stand under the tree, moving his arms out, setting his head straight, and his feet planted fairly apart, making the X that Konsatsu had made, and keeping his focus firmly as he lets the tree hold him up. He once more began to sync his breathing with the world around him, to allow nature to work with him.*
  74. *Konsatsu watches Basil intently, making sure that he is doing it correctly, "Make sure that you are looking slightly upwards Basil, as well as that you're keeping your hands and feet parallel to each other."*
  75. *Basil nods slightly as he raises his head slightly upwards, and adjusts his hands and feet so that they are equally apart and level with each other, raising his hands a bit higher as well. He'd hold still once he manages to get them matched properly and waits, focusing, letting his body grow accustomed to being in this position, and feeling for how best to maintain his balance.... as well as making sure he doesn't shift his body in such a way that would give him a hernia.*
  76. *Konsatsu watches as the energy in the air begins to move towards Basil and pool above his head, "Again, quite marvelous progress in such a short time. You must hold that pose for a full day or longer."*
  77. *Basil widens his eyes a bit, but he knows that the Kai isn't kidding. Still, he was in for the long haul here, and he was deadly serious about mastering this technique so that not only would it A) not kill him, and B) Allow him to help assist when new evil rises, but to give the Kai a sense of accomplishment and pride in a student.*
  78. *Konsatsu looks towards Basil, "You must master this stance until it becomes second nature to you. If you don't get it perfect, the energy may become tainted as you collect it."*
  79. *Basil takes a deep breath and nods, affirming himself and standing, gathering his muscles and steeling them for the day's wait. In his mind, he is thinking of the various ways he could ask in prayer, for the help. Thoughts of <That's too simple> and <Not enough specifics> mingle with various phrases that he comes up with.*
  80. Basil: <I can do this...I know I can.>
  81. Konsatsu: <He's even spending the time stancing to think of prayers... What a devoted guy.>
  82. Basil: <Dilligence and hard work. Thats my best quality... I can do anything I put my mind to... >
  83. Konsatsu: Alright, just keep it up like that. Only 35 hours to go.
  84. *Basil kept the stance, almost looking like a statue at this point.*
  85. *Konsatsu stands up, "Alright, I believe you're good now Basil. How do you feel?"*
  86. *Basil grunts as he gently relaxes the stance, and adjusts his body slowly, a few clicks and cracks as bones settle back into their normal positions. "A bit stiff but not too bad."*
  87. Konsatsu: How does your energy feel?
  88. Basil: stable and abundant, not to mention rather calm and natural.
  89. Konsatsu: That is how you should feel. Do you feel the spirit of the energy you collected?
  90. *Basil takes a deep breath as he closes his eyes and feels for the energy. A faint feeling mixed into his energy, he could feel the spirit, which makes him nod and open his eyes. "I can. It's present and waiting for the time when its needed."*
  91. Konsatsu: Just remember, this is borrowed energy. It will need to be returned eventually.
  92. *Basil nods as he breaths out, gently looking to return the energy, as it is not needed to use in an attack right now. Its a time of peace, at least here in heaven. "Of course, there is no need to hang onto it long other than for learning how it feels right now."*
