  1. >speeding down a dirt road
  2. >the jungle on all sides
  3. >your sitting in the back of the technical
  4. >Paul is resting with his back to the truck bed
  5. >Ivan is driving with Dave in the passenger seat
  6. >all is going according to plan
  7. >nobody has spotted any army men so far on the patrol
  8. >you glance down at your AK104
  9. >its decked out in all the 'tactical' accessories you can think of
  10. >IR laser / flashlight combo, angled grip behind that, and an red dot on the top rail
  11. >painted a combination of matte brown and green to match the surroundings
  12. >the truck hits a bump knocks your AK out of your hands and deeper into your lap
  13. >thats a mag hitting your dick
  14. >quickly shift the AK to a more horizontal position across your thighs
  15. "Shit, looks like some locals roadblock ahead" -Dave
  16. "How does one suggest to avoid it?" -Ivan
  17. >you stand up, leaning on the back of the cab, and peer forwards to see the roadblock
  18. >its about 300 meters ahead
  19. >there are no side roads leading off of the road your on
  20. >it doesn't take long until your hilux starts to slow for the checkpoint
  21. >there is one man standing in the middle of the road with a bolt action
  22. >Paul stands and readies the .50
  23. >these checkpoints have been used by the army to slaughter other patrols
  24. >the man looks down the vehicle and then stares at paul
  25. >paul looks back
  26. >the man steps aside and waves us through
  27. >we continue down the road
  28. >the locals usually hate us mercs
  29. >so this is a pleasant turn of events
  30. >we turn around a corner and disappear from view of the checkpoint
  31. >paul sits down with a sigh
  32. >its only a few more miles of road until our time patrolling is over
  33. >you see a bridge ahead
  34. >its just a old wooden one that locals had built long ago
  35. >the truck slows down as it goes over it
  36. >suddenly you hear an explosion underneath you
  37. >the truck starts to tilt right
  38. >it feels like your falling
  39. >you are
  40. >something happened to the bridge
  41. >you notice that there are tracers crossing overhead
  42. >it seems like someone staged an ambush
  43. >you grab your AK
  44.
  45. ---
  46.
  47. >Paul had tried to stand up and use the .50, although he fell and is now leaning on the back of the cab
  48. >you move over to the .50 and grab on to the mount
  49. >AK in one arm, mount in the other
  50. >the truck is nearly vertical right now
  51. >the back window had broken at some point
  52. >the truck is now nearly vertical
  53. >and falling
  54. >its not a far drop
  55. >but for fear of being made into soup by the truck, you jump away from it
  56. >you and the truck hit the muddy floor of the ravine
  57. >you get on your stomach and look around
  58. >no one has come to check the wreckage yet, but you wouldn't give them long until they did
  59. >the truck is upside down
  60. >you try and stand up
  61. >fuck you broke a leg
  62. >you crawl to the cab
  63. >its crushed in on itself
  64. >they are all probably dead
  65. >except paul
  66. >he is on the ground passed out
  67. >his waist is almost completely severed from his body
  68. >he is still alive, but bleeding out
  69. >you put him out of his misery
  70. >now time for something else
  71. >getting out of here
  72. >the truck is fucked
  73. >your legs are fucked
  74. >you start crawling
  75. >away from the bridge
  76. >away from the truck
  77. >hopefully you can get far enough to where they won't find you
  78.
  79. ---
  80.
  81. >you open your eyes
  82. >its dark outside
  83. >your leg really fucking hurts, but at least the splint is immobilizing it
  84. >all the adrenalin has worn off
  85. >you don't remember much after the ambush except crawling
  86. >and your team is dead
  87. >it takes a second to regain your train of thought
  88. >but you look to your wrist
  89. >its 0350
  90. >your patrol was supposed to end at 1930
  91. >your leg has a splint
  92. >you didn't even have one in your gear
  93. >you sit up and take a look at your surroundings
  94. >there is a russian soldier crouched across from you
  95. >you reach for your AK
  96. >AK is not there
  97. >that soldier has an AK
  98. >you look at her for a moment before she breaks the silence
  99. "You probably have many questions, is that correct?"
  100. >you shake your head
  101. "Well, it is a long story that can be told at another time. What is important right now is that you're stabilized and we are far away from the islands army, you get one question for right now."
  102. >you think for a moment
  103. "Who are you?"
  104. "For starters you can say that I was born in Izhevsk, Russia, I am twenty four years old, and I can kick your ass. Ive seen how you fight and it could use some help, now get some more rest."
  105. >she returned to fiddling with your AK
  106. >she better not break anything
  107. >but judging by the special forces recon her clothes are putting off she knows how to handle it
  108. >you lay back down and try to remember meeting this girl in the first place
  109.
  110. ---
  111.
  112. >you wake up to the ruskie from earlier shaking you awake
  113. >she makes a quiet sign with her hand
  114. >she points to a opening in the trees behind you
  115. >there is a small army patrol of three men
  116. >knowing how their patrols are set up, you know that one is a medic, another an autorifleman, and the last the leader
  117. >you both duck down into the foliage
  118. >her clothes work surprisingly well for camouflage in the jungle
  119. >although your clothes consist of blue jeans, a black hoodie, and alice rigging
  120. >you keep watch of the patrol for a hot minute while she plans an escape
  121. >you turn around
  122. >she's gone
  123. >your AK is laying in the foliage
  124. >what the fuck is up with her
  125. >you grab your AK and check if its loaded
  126. >ready to engage
  127. >the patrol is in a clearing, if there were any time to take them out, it would be now
  128. >you take a shot on the autorifleman
  129. >it hits his armpit, just barely missing his plate carrier
  130. >he goes down
  131. >the medic immediately starts to fix his ally
  132. >the medic is in your sights
  133. >but the team lead is keeping a 360
  134. >by himself
  135. >you're tempted to take the medic
  136. >although you know it will increase the chances for the leader to get a bearing on your location
  137. >you take another shot
  138. >the medic goes down
  139. >the team lead also gets down
  140. >behind a log
  141. >and where he's taking cover from can only mean that he knows where you're firing from
  142. >but he doesn't know exactly where you are
  143. >you decide to leave while you have the upper hand
  144.
  145. ---
  146.
  147. >you've been walking through the jungle for about two hours
  148. >the russian is still missing
  149. >you have seen nothing of interest so far
  150. >some time later you see smoke rising over the horizon
  151. >it could be a campfire or some wildfire
  152. >with nothing better to do you start to trek over to it
  153. >its a fair distance away
  154.
  155. >as you near the scene you see that it is a campfire
  156. >its still a light although nobody is near it
  157. >there is one tent off to one side of the site
  158. >around the campfire are a few guns laying besides some logs
  159. >you head over to the tent, AK raised
  160. >you open the front flap
  161. >nobody inside
  162. >there is some camping equipment inside
  163. >you head back over to the campfire
  164. >one of the guns looks like a mix of a dragunov and a bullpup rifle with a scope
  165. >another almost is an AK12, but something looks off
  166. >the last one you see is a OCIW, although as with the AK12, something looks wrong
  167. >as you take a closer look at the guns, you see chink markings all over them
  168. >it seems that some chink SF team was camped out here
  169. >but now their gone
  170. >but they will probably be back
  171. >you grab all the guns and strap them on your pack
  172. >its a fair amount heavier than your normal load, but since you've lost most of your normal load in the ambush its not impossible to hike with
  173. >you march away from the campsite until the sun starts to set
  174. >its a good time for some campcraft of your own
  175. >you setup your sleeping bag on a clear patch of the jungle
  176. >you set your bag right next to you
  177. >you crawl in your sleeping bag and zip it shut
  178. >you finally get some shut eye after a long day
  179.
  180. ---
  181.
  182. >you wake up cozy in your sleeping bag
  183. >it's still dark outside
  184. >this week has been so shitty you stay in the bag
  185. >you should be safe anyways
  186.
  187. >you wake up to it being light outside
  188. >you look over to your pack to see that all your guns are gone
  189. >you head over to the pack to check the contents
  190. >everything else is there
  191. >you pack up your camp
  192. >then you notice that there is a campfire smoldering nearby
  193. >you didn't make that
  194. >no one else is in the area
  195. >might be the chink recon team
  196. >before the ambush you had heard rumors about chink forces getting involved in the region
  197. >something about saving shithole nations from their dictatorial governments
  198. >this island fits the description
  199. >it's probably the chinks or that one russian you saw earlier
  200. >she probably disappeared off to her team doing god knows what
  201. >might even be with the chinks after all
  202. >either way the main thing on your mind is to get back your ak104
  203. >you look around the campsite for clues
  204. >you find no clues
  205. >you head towards the chink camp you took the guns from earlier
  206.
  207. >you are approaching the camp, although still hidden in the treeline
  208. >there are four people at the campsite
  209. >looks like three women
  210. >one is actually the russian that had helped you earlier
  211. >the other two look like your standard chinese women
  212. >one holding some marksman rifle
  213. >and the other an ak style rifle
  214. >the last figure is decked out with a balaclava and helmet
  215. >the helmet might have some nvg mounted on it
  216. >but it's flipped down in daylight
  217. >the figure looks towards you
  218. >they raise their bulky gun
  219. >you duck behind a tree just as a grenade blows a chunk out of it
  220. >another grenade blows up mid air behind you
  221. >you cant hear shit after those blasts
  222. >the grenades stop coming
  223. >the russian comes around the corner with an ak raised at you
  224. >you take a closer look at the ak
  225. >ITS YOUR FUCKING AK
  226. >a jab in your back signals another person
  227. "If you turn around, you will be shot" says an unknown woman
  228. >you comply
  229.

  237. >The clearing is just big enough for the support helo to fit in as it comes down to resupply your section.
  238. >Your patrol drove into an ambush nearly an hour ago
  239. >The guerrilla activity in this area had started to increase in 2022 and its keeping a strong presence
  240. >The local government and by extension military were both recently founded after a large coup in 2020, and they have little to no experience with fighting unconventional war
  241. >They had rectified this by hiring Vining Private Services, VPS for short
  242. >For the first few years of the VPS presence on the archipelago, they were rooting the guerrillas out of the jungle
  243. >Then, in September of 27', an unknown party had given VPS a large sum of money along with a request to push the local government and military off of the island
  244. >Higher ups in VPS had decided that allying with the guerrillas was their best plan to push the government off of the island
  245. >Your commander motions for you and the rest of...

  247. I might finish this although these >be me styled stories can be very limiting.
  248. Future authors beware!

  251.
  252. This is the second time I'm writing this. First off to future authors, don't be a retard like me and write directly on to pastebin, it doesn't save to a cookie if the page is exited off of. Use something like https://wordcounter.net/. Secondly, I wouldn't recommend writing with >be me stories as they can cause slight insanity and I feel as if it is limiting. As well referring to this story, the last section is no longer canon, although I'm leaving it in here for archival purposes.
