- Prayer Counter is an iPhone application that assists Muslims in counting their prayers’ Raka’at and Sajdat by reminding them in case they got distracted and lost the count.
- Users should remember that focusing during prayers is what grants them the reward (Thawab) and this application is only made to help them in case of mistakes.
- To use this application, the user will have to simply
- + Start the App.
- + Place your iPhone on the prayer mat.
- + Start praying
- The application will count the prayers (Raka’at and Sajdat) when you descend to the ground (kneel) and your chin/neck/upper chest are covering the phone (Sujod) the light sensor in your iPhone will detect a decrease in the light intensity and this event will be counted as “one” Sajda and every “two” Sajda are counted as Raka’a.

- If you are using an iPod touch, then you can tap on the screen while you are descending to the ground, since your iPod touch does not have a built in light sensor hardware.
- If the light intensity is high in your surrounding, then make sure to place the phone right below your mouth for more accurate counting.
- + The “Reduce” button is to correct the count.
- + The “Save” button is to save prayers in logs.
- + The “Reset” button is reset the count.
