Dubious Correspondence

[The box contains a sealed envelope and over two dozen smaller unlabeled boxes of peppermint tea bags. The envelope is marked with a burgundy wax stamp and the letter within has been written by hand on a sheet of white printer paper, meticulously spaced and signed with a single letter.]

I know that our time spent together was terribly brief and I am not entirely confident as to whether or not you remember me. In the end I suppose it is of little consequence. I hope that you are doing well, finding your own happiness and fulfillment despite your circumstance and preferred company. I have learned  a great deal more of how the Union treated you since your recent departure and to be quite honest I am appalled. I cannot conceive as to how someone such as yourself would have been placed in such a program and no apology or expression of my sympathies could ever suffice. I will be praying for you. Find yourself safe. Perhaps if we are to meet again it will be on much more pleasant terms.
