  1. 1: Banning, kicking, muting, unbanning an user
  2. Before you decide to ban someone make sure the user has been warned 3 times first.
  3. This can be done by typing ?warnings [@username/userid]
  4. We advise you to type this in #staff-botspam by getting a users name in #bot-spam by @[user], copy the full name and paste it in
  5. #staff-bot spam using your commands. A user will then get a DM by Dyno following the command.
  6.
  7. A: Banning
  8. Banning may be necessary as user misbehaves from time to time.
  9. However, it is at your best bet to ask your fellow staff members what their opinion is on this situation.
  10. As some may not agree with the reasoning of the ban.
  11.
  12. B: Unbanning
  13. In case a user that has been banned previously requests an unban you can not just unban him instantly, obviously.
  14. Always contact an administrator or another moderator in case admins are not available.
  15. As he or she may not agree to an unban. It's important for us staff to discuss such things.
  16.
  17. C: Kicking
  18. Kicking may be necessary when a user does not do what's asked. but when a ban is not required.
  19. Kicks, in general, are not discussed and do not require any approval from staff members, although if you're uncertain
  20. what to do, always contact a fellow mod.
  21.
  22. D: Muting
  23. We usually mute a person when he or she is spamming, trying to kill the mood, or generally throwing profanity around
  24. the channels
  25.
  26.
  27.
  28. 2: Responsing to useless banter
  29. You're more than likely to see off-topic posting or memes in channels where they don't belong.
  30. A picture or 2 in #general is no problem, If you see more than that being posted please to act on it.
  31. And tell the individual we have #pics-and-memes for that.
  32.
  33. If the user does not comply and is not changing channels,
  34. you can warn him or worst case mute or even ban, please do notify admins when you do.
  35.
  36.
  37. 3: Resolving issues between users
  38. There might be conflicts between users from time to time. Make sure you act on this the right way.
  39. Always make sure you read the full chat log of both users before you're making a decision on who's right and who's not.
  40. Act as professional as possible in situations like this.
  41.
  42.
  43. 4: Professionalism is key!
  44. As a staff member you're expected to always be professional. No matter the situation.
  45. You're staff and you will also define your fellow staff members in a way. Do not make them look like a bunch of fools.
