  3. IV. Epilogue
  4.
  5. -
  6.
  7. The snow swirled about the figures as they laid in the bright illumination of the moon, the warm lights of the far off towers of the Crystal Empire gave the hillside an orange tint, making the eyes of each glimmer.
  8.
  9. “Yknow, I didn’t know about this part.” The larger of the two said, his bright bare skin pressed tightly against the charcoal of his partner, her limbs wrapped across his broad chest, her own, larger chest pressed against his side. “The whole ‘moonlit view’ thing.” he said. Her eyes were closed, and her chin rested on his shoulder. She gave a little ‘hmm’, eyes still shut, her bushy black hair splayed out across the snow behind her.
  10.
  11. “It’s true! I’m not really sure if we’re actually here, or if this is some sort of illusion, but…” He turned his head to his partner, and gave her shoulder a little squeeze, his hand holding her close with it. “Well, I certainly can’t complain.” She smiled and gave another little ‘mhm’, eyes still closed, pressing her muzzle into the crook of his neck.
  12.
  13. He breathed out, his breath billowing in the night air like a wisp of smoke. “Odd that we’re not freezing though. This snow is quite comfortable.” He commented, rubbing his hand up and down her shoulder gently as he motioned with his other free hand. She gave his neck a little kiss, and he grinned, moving his hand to gently take hold of her head, her black hair flowing through his fingers. Their garments were scattered around them in the snow, but showed no signs of becoming wet. Black robes and gray waitress attire mingled with one another in the light of the moon and city.
  14.
  15. “I think you would’ve gotten a kick out of seeing Cadence now.” He chuckled, looking back down at the Crystal Empire. She cracked open an eye, her red iris looking at him quizzically. His own emerald eyes met hers, and with his free arm he made a ‘C’ shape, mimicking his torso being quite round, blowing up his cheeks comically. She closed her eyes and giggled, wrapping one leg around his. He sighed, still grinning, turning back to the bright orange light of the city, enjoying the warmth of his love’s embrace. While she was certainly more tired than he was, he’d be lying if he said he too wasn’t drained from their lovemaking. For what felt like hours after he’d revealed his true self to her, the pair had been embroiled in passion like none he’d experienced before. It’d been a Hearths Warming Eve to remember for the both of them, for sure, but he was just as happy to have her in his arms as he was sharing himself with her.
  16.
  17. He heard her sigh, and her breathing started to slow. He knew she had begun to finally fall asleep, and twisted to press his lips against her gray cheek, and a small smile spread across her face. She let out another content sigh, snuggling a little bit closer against him. He grinned even wider, and looked back to the city, saying a silent thank you in his mind to the Princess of Love, wishing her well with her own husband. Then, at the moon, giving the Princess of the Night a more heartfelt thank you (and even a little one for her and her sister’s darker halves) before turning to rest his head against his partner’s, her bushy hair like a down blanket against his skin.
  18.
  19. Soon, he fell asleep with her, the snow glowing white under the moon, and the two found themselves happier than they’d ever been.
