Guys,



I really am not one to keep people from doing personal things at work, etc. I really want people to have as much freedom as can be here at work so you continue to enjoy your jobs and the atmosphere that has been created here. With that being said though I do have a responsibility to make sure that everyone here is giving their maximum effort on a daily basis.



Currently I never say anything to anyone about their internet usage, email usage, cell phone usage, etc as long as they are getting their jobs done. I understand that there are times that you need to make or take a personal phone call while at work, I do this sometimes and I have also been known to answer a text message or two while at work; so don't think I am saying I am above anyone on my team.



What I have seen over the course of the last couple of months though is more cell phone usage here at work than should be allowed. Constantly when I am walking by cubicles I see phones in laps, people typing away on the phone, etc.



Consider this your friendly warning, if I continue to see people or hear people texting multiple times a day, or see people on their phones multiple times a day I will not allow you to bring your phone into work. I know this doesn't pertain to everyone in my group but I do know of some in my group who their cell phone activity is having a negative impact on their work and attitude here.



Also a last reminder to stop bringing your cell phones to the morning meeting, I asked nicely once and people listened for about 2 weeks and then started bringing them again.
