  6. General notes:
  7. 2D Movement:
  8. In addition to obvious stuff (diagonals are good and fast), you move slower when you have something in your tank. In general, try to inhale your target as close to the spot where you need to shoot it as possible.
  9. Dust Routing:
  10. This is what requires the most on-the-fly adjustments to the route. The game requires these amounts of dust to proceed the story:
  11. End of Chapter 1: 100 Dust
  12. End of Chapter 2: 200 Dust
  13. Access Nano Cleaner Zera: 150 Dust
  14. What this means from a practical point of view is that you want the following amounts at the following splits:
  15. Bran Maligden: at least 50 Dust (24 of which comes from crystals)
  16. Great Gwom: at least 50 Dust (24 of which comes from crystals)
  17. Geof Agricite: ~60-70 Dust (36 of which comes from a crystal) (do not grind this, just cash in whatever you get naturally and make up anything that needs to be made up later)
  18. Iwasaki Antimon: ~60-70 Dust (36 of which comes from a crystal), and NOTE how much you have left to 200; must be less than 90.
  19. Clonwei Yonstein: The number you noted at the end of Iwasaki (36 of which comes from a crystal)
  20. New Theeland: 80-90 Dust. Easiest to grind off the slime room, but you shouldn't need to grind.
  21. Pastel Horizon: 60-70 Dust. Grind point is diamond and slime room in Fukuchi's ghost Picoscale area. Shouldn't need to grind much for this either. This plus the New Theeland total needs to add up to 150.
  22. I'll mark important points of no return below.
  23. Text Skip:
  24. The in-game Skip Dialogue setting is very good, but note that the text actually goes slower if you're holding jump. As such, don't mash through text; just let it happen naturally.
  25. Pause-Gliding:
  26. When you pause the game while Nova is airborne, the game resets your momentum, both vertical and horizontal. This can let you fall much slower while covering a much greater horizontal distance than would normally be possible, especially with Ridescale. Optimal performance of this strat involves a specific rhythm for pausing and unpausing based on how far horizontally you have to go and mow much vertical space you can afford to lose; each one in the game is slightly different. Mashing works, but is slower.
  27. Ridescale Clipping:
  28. When you tranform into Ridescale, your car is always facing directly away from the camera, regardless of what direction Nova was facing. To clip into a corner this way, hold the movement stick into the corner, then sweep the camera in the opposite direction, and transform as the camera passes through the wall. It takes some practice, especially clipping out of Great Gwom's home, but it is consistent.
  29. Nano Assassin Skip:
  30. When you enter a Nano Assassin boss fight room, you have a bit of space you can move freely in before you actually trigger the beginning of the boss fight. If you can inhale an object without leaving that space and then shoot the boss, you can run over the trigger area to start the boss while the boss is in hit stun, thereby allowing you to just stroll out the back door. This is possible on three of the five Nano Assassins: Great Gwom (using a mini-Gwom in the boss room), Misteria Waizel (the easiest one), and Bran Maligden (extremely precise, but technically doable). It *is* possible to skip the Nano Assassin in Drifting Polle; HOWEVER, skipping that cutscene results in a softlock preventing you from clearing the dust storm and getting to Blue Vale.

  255. Navigate right around the mountain to cactus patch
  256. Talk to Stavros in cactus patch
  257. Leave cactus patch for mountain, and drive straight to overworld card
  258. Turn around, drive off cliff to house, talk to Gravis and Stavros
  259. Enter 2D
  260. Pushing gum with something in the tank is slow, pulling gum is fastest
  261. Right fork first
  262. Get the key on the right side before taking the path to the bonus card
  263. Talk to the key on the way back each time
  264. Autoscroller just before the crystal, stand by one of the gats for free wins
  265. Skip the chest next to the crystal
  266. Get crystal, 36 Dust
  267. Split on fade to black

  269. Orb Sector 4-16-5:
  270. Climb the mountain to Minorva, talk 3 times

  298. East until you see flying enemy, then south to village
  299. Get Fukuchi's shell, return to raft

  301. Follow coastline east
  302. Go to Fukuchi's spirit, enter Picoscale
  303. DUST ROUTE: Last chance to grind is in this Picoscale area, the room with the slimes and diamonds at the end. Need enough dust to total 150 with the New Theeland total turned in previously
  304. Climb mountain, get card

  306. Return to raft, go straight north when you get to open ocean until you hit land, then east to ghost train
  307. Go to ghost train, ride to bridge
  308. Get both chests, return to train
  309. North from train, leave via warp pad 1
  310. Exit Nexus via beach exit

  314. Drive to Outer Sands South
