  3. It is important to ensure you keep information about childrens and families confidential to make sure the childs security isnt compromised. This means keeping all versions of photographs, personal information, medical information locked in a filing cabinet or in a passworded folder on a computer, that is inacessible by anyone apart from the staff that need it for good use. It is your professional responsibility to make sure the childs information doesnt get into bad hands, which include but are not limited to: Avoided family members, for example an abusive father; pedophiles, anyone who the information doesnt concern. This would be bad because to start, the family members would be annoyed, for second the avoided family member may track the child down and find out where they live. This would make the whole situation worse. Pedophiles finding information on children is pretty self-explanitary and the complete opposite of what a teacher wants. Also a pupil knowing you keep their information safe will help build trust which is also important, as a pupil that trusts you is one with a good relationship. Making sure the information is kept safe is also part responsibility of the setting, which should ensure that all information has resources availible to make sure it is safe, eg. a filing cabinet for the info to go in. All this put together ensures the welfare of the children is topnotch and all pupils can go to school knowing that all their information is confidential, and school is a safe place to be in the sense that all your information is kept in controlled ways.

  9. It is important to demonstate a good attitude in the setting to ensure the child sees that you are not just at work for the money but also to ensure the child gets a good education and achieves. It is also important to have a responsible attitude to ensure the child remains safe and secure, and a reliable attitude to make sure the child believes that you will get their work marked, as in return they will try harder. This could also mean participating in tasks, as this means the child will be encouraged to do more work. This could also mean demonstrating good communication skills to get across important messages both to do with the task and about behaviour.
  10. Respecting parents is also important to prove to them their children are in safe hands and are fully aware of how the teacher works. What is most important is having a non judgemental, anti discrimatary approach as children learn from their teachers, and learning to be discrimanitive is the complete opposite of whats accepted in todays society. It will cause many problems if the parent recognises a bad change in behaviour in their child due to school, as it should be a place to learn whats wrong and right. Also, there could be children from different backgrounds in the class and being discrimanitive towards them is just wrong.
