*On June 27, 2017, President of the United States Big Boss traveled to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, to discuss a major procurement agreement between the two nations. The President also spoke on nuclear disarmament in the region. He was accompanied by Secretary of State /u/DuceGiharm and Secretary of Defense /u/Matthew545, in addition to Netherlands Prime Minister /u/TheJelleyfish, Minister of Foreign Affairs /u/OKELEUK, and Minister of Defense /u/kooienb. A press conference was held subsequently on matters related to the deal as well as general issues from the Dutch people and political figures.*

I would like to begin by thanking three individuals from this great nation who were instrumental in forming this deal. Prime Minister /u/TheJellyfish, I believe that we've come to an agreement that will greatly enhance the already strong alliance between our nations while delivering valuable security to yours. May it result in further peace and security for your people.

I'd also like to thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs, /u/OKELEUK, and Minister of Defense /u/kooienb, who really dug into the weeds of these negotiations with my team. They were instrumental in shaping this agreement and their dedication to their nation's security and desire for continued camaraderie with the United States are admirable. This wouldn't have been remotely possible without them.

And I am similarly indebted to my Secretary of State, /u/DuceGiharm, and my Secretary of Defense, /u/Matthew545, whose combined expertise was critical to making this agreement a reality. They've put in a lot of work negotiating and drafting this deal which amazes and impresses me given how new they are to my Cabinet. I truly can't thank them enough.

I will be providing the full text, signed by the parties involved, at the end of this speech. In short, the Netherlands has agreed to pay about $12.6 billion for several pieces of military equipment and associated services. Prime among these are 95 Lockheed Martin F-35As, delivered across a five year period beginning in 2019, with the ability to train with these aircraft at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona between 2018 and 2024.

This deal also establishes the procurement and sale of several craft from Boeing, General Atomics, and Northrop Grumman, including 38 AH-64E Apaches, 8 MQ-9 Reapers, and 4 MQ-4C Tritons. In addition, the Netherlands will also be receiving 50 RIM-161 Standard Missile 3s and 50 Tomahawk Missiles.

Again, the full, exhaustive list will be provided at the end of this speech, detailing all exchanges and their costs.

Lastly, it is a great honor to announce that as a part of this agreement, the United States will be withdrawing all of our nuclear weapons currently stored at Volkel Air Base in the Netherlands. This act highlights one of my key missions as President to balance nuclear security with mutual nuclear disarmament. I am pleased that the government of the Netherlands has cooperated so well by requesting this as a part of our deal, as it marks a major milestone in both regional and global disarmament.

We will be moving the USAF 703rd Munitions Support Squadron along with these weapons to the Spangdahlem Air Base in nearby Germany. Given this, and the existing nuclear presence in the region, both my Secretary of Defense and I are confident that this poses no security risk to either nation, while furthering our goals of progressively consolidating and reducing our global nuclear presence.

It is my deepest hope that this will set the stage for further nuclear withdrawal in Europe and other parts of the world. The United States is committed to this like never before and it's monumental to see this step toward post-nuclear peace taken.
