"Well, mostly what we talked about was chickens. And making bets. We made a lot of bets and borrowed a lot of chickens which were mostly left out to be taken anyway as offerings. There are a lot of things which can be equated to taking bets or to do with chickens and it makes a lot more sense if somebody else does the explaining."

The last bit of sugar melts away in the horse's mouth. There really is a lot of blood in a big old horse like this and Molly waits patiently for the last bit of movement to end.

"Well, that lady with the glowy eyed baby said if I ever got in trouble I should run away. And the sad man said I should take Mr. Fox's advice and use Imagination when I'm in trouble, but neither of those things were very helpful in this instance. If only we'd known that the leg was infected earlier, someone might have been able to treat it before the rot got in, set up a poultice or something."

The horse's eyes flutter slightly at what is probably it's last gasp before death and Molly looks it in the eyes sadly.

"I'm sorry Thunderfoot I really wish you understood me when I say I'll try harder for you next time."
