  434. [18:45:57] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: on the other hand Taiwan wants to succeed.
  435. [18:46:09] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: the situation arguably here is Taiwan is only 'halfway' succeeded from China.
  436. [18:46:20] Lionyx: i guess cause it's an interesting source of tourism which china doesn't want to lose
  437. [18:46:35] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: indeed. but Taiwan's culture has already evolved so much
  438. [18:46:39] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: even the language is starting to differ.
  439. [18:47:01] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: we do not know what the future for Taiwan stands for in terms of its sovereignty status but
  440. [18:47:15] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: my forecast is it will eventually become it's own independent nation.
  441. [18:47:37] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: But doing this will take a lot of work and time because there is still another problem of Taiwan being it's own independent nation
  442. [18:47:48] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: that being is not just land sovereignty but airspace and water sovereignty
  443. [18:48:18] Lionyx: their water interferes with china's waters?
  444. [18:48:31] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: afaik the UN classifies a country has it's right to it's own sovereign airspace and water within a certain distance radius
  445. [18:48:33] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: until it becomes international
  446. [18:48:36] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: lio yes correct
  447. [18:49:04] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: if Taiwan demands its right to be an independent country it would also demand it's right to it's own sovereign airspace as well as waters, which part of it already overlaps with china.
  448. [18:49:25] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: trying to negotiate who owns which airspace and how much will without doubt cause a lot of political disputes.
  449. [18:49:46] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: so there's a long way to go until complete independence
  450. [18:50:02] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: and that concludes history!
  451. [18:50:33] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: As for the final section of this lecture! My personal experience visiting Taiwan!
  452. [18:50:54] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: I've been to Taiwan several times, reason being is it is extremely close, not even an hour flight from where i grew up.
  453. [18:51:33] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: best part? The street food is some of the best I've tasted.
  454. [18:51:45] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: The hot springs too!
  455. [18:52:09] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: 80% of tourists in Taiwan are Chinese Tourists.
  456. [18:52:31] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: due to geographic location, the biggest happiness i obtain from there is like i said previously is the hot springs.
  457. [18:52:46] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: I've attended both the ones artificially made in a resort as well as a natural one with a waterfall!
  458. [18:53:43] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: While the hotel rooms itself is nothing to be brag about, it is only slightly better than an inn but
  459. [18:53:55] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: i gotta say if you are on a holiday and if you live in asia
  460. [18:54:07] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: this is the best budget place to come and get the most out of it in terms of relaxation and foodies!
  461. [18:54:42] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: In Taiwan the main messenger app is called line messenger
  462. [18:54:52] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: it works just like WhatsApp, viber and wechat
  463. [18:55:02] Lionyx: is it also a cheap destination if you live in europe?
  464. [18:55:03] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: You can purchase a lot of things just tapping your phone on a scanner
  465. [18:55:08] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: Lionyx nope unfortunately :(
  466. [18:55:37] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: to the point that bringing money isn't actually a must
  467. [18:55:42] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: *ofcourse you need a bank here
  468. [18:56:02] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: Hey guys before i conclude this, any questions you still have? :)
  469. [18:56:19] Lionyx: I think you hadn't seen my question back in the history part: → [00:45:45] Lionyx: hasn't it taken China's permanent room in UN at some point? or am I thinking of something else
  470. [18:56:44] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: no it hasn't
  471. [18:57:02] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: china knows it can't take it back, United States and several former allied members will resort in warfare just to stop them.
  472. [18:57:07] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: which china does not want to
  473. [18:57:21] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: So china tries to approach with some other diplomatic solutions. I doubt they will get anywhere thou.
  474. [18:57:29] Lionyx: no I mean like there are 5 permanent United Nations members which China is part of
  475. [18:57:42] Lionyx: (alongside the UK, the US, France & Russia)
  476. [18:57:54] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: oh yeah Taiwan is not considered part of china according to UK
  477. [18:58:07] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: so no representatives from Taiwan are in that member union
  478. [18:58:26] Lionyx: and iirc back in the 20th century China had seen its permanent spot being taken by a smaller entity, but can't recall if it was taiwan
  479. [18:58:49] Lionyx: cause the other nations weren't acknowledging people's republic of china
  480. [18:58:55] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: that's Hong Kong
  481. [18:59:07] Lionyx: alright that was my doubt
  482. [18:59:23] +Mighty+Rising+Ace: anyway thanks for coming guys i'll conclude it here!
