<Knobdy> It seemed like your Commanders-in-Chief were true and honest in their statement that you and the Falken Project would be getting more support, because you all received a fresh shipment of much needed supplies for the Falken's sensitive and specific electronics as well as a bonus for everyone on the crew, including you. [20:12] <Knobdy> Apparently helping protect the President's from an enemy Kaiju is the sort of thing that gets you appreciated.
[20:12] <Knobdy> Who could have know?

[20:13] <Knobdy> Currently you're technically on alert, but you weren't called up for the last two Kaiju attacks that they had since the Falken was undergoing a full look over to make sure that the stress from combat maneuvers hadn't caused her too many problems. And it seems like your girl holds up to combat just fine.
[20:15] <Knobdy> There's a knock on the door, warning you that there's someone there. "You there Kid? It's me, Pops." Your chief calls out.
[20:16] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Oh, hey, what's going on? I didn't here the signal to scramble." The pilot expresses his surprise as he opens the door.
[20:18] <Knobdy> "It's not that kid, just some queer news I've managed to pick up from friends in a few places. Shatterdome places." He tells you as he gestures for you to let him inside so you can talk in private.
[20:19] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> The pilot gestures him inside and shuts the door afterwards.
[20:23] <Knobdy> Pops enters and takes off his cap, rubbing his bald head as he sighs, "I've been hearing bad things about Kaiju kid, problematic things for the Falken even with her weapons load out. Reportedly, one of President Armstrong's pet Jaegers," He references one of the Presidents special projects, much like the Falken, "Ran into a Kaiju in armor."
[20:23] <Knobdy> "Thick, composite plating armor. Metal armor, like what we put on the old Mark I's. A bit different, but..." He shakes his head.
[20:25] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Metal? How the hell?"
[20:25] <Knobdy> "I can't say I know Kid. And to add onto the problems for us, this thing reportedly had ranged weaponry on it. Fired some kind of spines out of its chest at high speeds." Pops gestures.
[20:29] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Armor and AA? That's pretty convenient."
[20:30] <Knobdy> "Isn't it just? Look, you didn't hear anything from me, but rumor has it that High Command is starting to take the rumors of their being an intelligent behind these Kaiju a hell of a lot more seriously than they were before, and all the implications that brings on." He lowers his voice, "Can't say what this means for us, but I wanted you to know and make sure
[20:31] <Knobdy> that you were careful out there next time. If there is something smart behind these things, then there's no way you haven't scared its damn pants off with that show you put on before, and you're easier to destroy than a Jaeger."
[20:33] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Well, they never said this would be an easy job." He scratches his head.
[20:34] <Knobdy> "Exactly, now. I'm trying to work on a few things I'd had planned out for the Falken but never had the funding for before. I can't say when I'll be able to finish them but-" Pops is cut off by the sound of Alarms starting to go off all over base. Kaiju signal it seems.
[20:35] <Knobdy> "Damn it all, of course it'd happen now." Pops snarls as he opens the door and starts sprinting for the hangars, "Get suited up and I'll make sure everything is ready!"
[20:36] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Yeah, right behind you, old man." He yells at Hucke who takes off out the door.
[20:40] <Knobdy> Thankfully your suit is hanging exactly where it's supposed to be, and unlike certain other types of pilots you don't need fifteen damn people to help you zip up your pants. It's quick and easy to get in and button up everything that needs to be buttoned, and it's not slow at all as you make your way over to the Hangar and...
[20:40] <Knobdy> what is that ugly thing they've got attached to the back of the Falken where she's sitting on the runway? It's huge, about as big as she is.
[20:43] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "The hell is this thing?" The pilots asks one of the nearby crewmen outloud.
[20:45] <Knobdy> "Oh, sir!" The tech salutes you, "It's some kind of overboost module sir! The Falken's capable of surviving just fine at speeds above what her engines can get up to on her own, so with this attached you can actually hit well above what you could before...in a straight line." He admits.
[20:46] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "So, what, I'm basically a rocket?"
[20:47] <Knobdy> "More of a Hypersonic Scramjet with this attached, sir." The tech explains, "Uh...preliminary congratulations on breaking the air-speed record on a manned machine sir."
[20:49] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Uh...yeah, sure." He nods as he leaves the tech alone back to his job and for the ladder into the Falken's cockpit.
[20:56] <Knobdy> "Congratulations Kid!" You hear pops call out to you as you watch him work on the module attached to your plane, "You're getting sent to Hawaii! Sun, Sand and giant monsters! Everything a pilot could ask for, eh?
[20:56] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Eh, maybe not everything. You wanna take my place, Pops? You sure could use the vacation."
[20:59] <Knobdy> "Hah! I'm too old and fat to survive hitting those kinds of speeds. I'll be following you over in Birdie and haul the tools to keep your chariot all fixed up when you're done playing." He explains to you.
[21:00] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "All right then, let's not keep our big friend waiting."
[21:14] <Knobdy> "Great attitude Kid." Pops hurries out of your way and scuttles down off of his ladder as techs rapidly disengage from and move away everything in the way of your plane and the runway. As you get into Falken you think you can hear her thrum with annoyance for the weighty block they placed on her rear. Apparently she doesn't like all this junk in her truck.
[21:20] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> The pilot runs through the ritual of checking all the instruments and making sure the numbers and needles aren't in the wrong places. "This is Sickle 1. All green here, ready for take-off."
[21:22] <Knobdy> "Roger that Sickle 1, you're clear for take-off." It feels a bit odd to have this overboost module on your bird, but it's still manageable as you get her up into the air and climbing. Now you just need to level her out and lock in your flight angle to where you're intercepting that Monster and you'll be set to activate it and see just what this thing can do.
[21:24] <Knobdy> "All right Sickle 1, we've got more confirmed intel coming in to us." Pops informs you over the radio, "It's...not good." He tells you as you set yourself up.
[21:26] <Knobdy> "I'll keep this simple." He says as you trigger the over-boost switch, "There's two of them." You feel the full weight of his sentence slam into you just as you feel the full weight of rapidly accelerating up to and past mach five hit you. [21:27] <Knobdy> The world underneath you is screaming past as you break the air speed record, land disappearing in under a minute to become oceans.

[21:30] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> Sickle 1 can only utter a silent scream as the Falken flies at speeds beyond what he's normally used to.
[21:31] <Knobdy> You can feel Falken screaming as well, her frame straining under the immense forces being exerted on it by the speeds you're pulling. At least with how fast you're going it shouldn't be too long to Hawaii, right? Right?

[21:33] <Knobdy> You finally feel the overboost module start to wind down and watch as your speed begins to decrease. It looks like the Hawaiian islands are just ahead of you as your speed comes down to something more closely resembling the Falken's normal top speeds when you're pushing your bird. You can pretty easily make out the Jaeger towering in the water as it moves out
[21:33] <Knobdy> further from the coast to protect Hawaii.
[21:34] <Knobdy> "Falken, this is Marshall Brady." A man speaks to you over the radio, "PPDC will be taking control of this operation, and you'll be working under us. Move to designated area and begin focus on observation for the Kaiju reaching the surface."
[21:36] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Sickle 1 copy."
[21:38] <Knobdy> Your Falken makes the turns easily as you jettison the overboost module and it falls gracelessly towards the ocean where it'll be picked up by a crew, assuming you don't all die here today.

[21:38] <Knobdy> "Sickle 1, this is Harry Simh of the Mean Stalker. Do you copy?" You get another new voice over the radio, this one with an accent to his English that you can't quite place.
[21:38] <Knobdy> You'd guess British, but it's not quite that either.
[21:40] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "I copy, Mean Stalker. Ready when you are."
[21:43] <Knobdy> "I don't know how much you're getting told between our seperate branches having their pissing contests, so I'll just clear this up quickly. We've got two confirmed Kaiju that came through the breach at the same time, thanks to that new satellite we just put up we can track them better than before and they can't destroy this one. One of them looks like a norma
[21:43] <Knobdy> l Cat III, but the other's putting out metallic signatures and we've picked up hints of a nuclear signature in the same vicinity. Meaning that chances are it's one of the abnormals."
[21:44] <Knobdy> "When these things come up out of the water, we're going to need you to do everything you can to keep that Cat III off of us once the Abnormals been engaged, I can't promise how long we would hold up against a two v one. Think you can manage that?"
[21:46] <[Pyg]Sickle_1> "Consider it done."
[21:51] <Knobdy> "Great, now let's..." It's at this point that the water blasts up into the air as two massive figures break out of ocean and reveal themselves. One of them is glinting brightly in the light, an armored metallic looking form that look as if it was hewn roughly from a single massive chunk of iron ore. Organic looking vents on its chest hiss as it releases steam
[21:52] <Knobdy> That thing's no damn Kaiju you've ever seen, it's built humanoid! It looks more like a Jaeger than anything.
[21:53] <Knobdy> The other shape looks fairly thing and long with two odd arms as it crawls along on all fours in the water. It's covered in black hide of a Kaiju and the glowing blue details that are much more familiar.
[21:53] <Knobdy> You then watch as it spreads its arms out and reveals they're wings which begin to flap hard as the massive thing manages to make itself fly despite the sheer impossibility of something it's size flying.
[21:56] <Knobdy> Mean Stalker lunges forward, bringing its fists up as it closes in on the Abnormal with practiced ease, ducking under a blow and slamming a fist into the Kaiju's midsection which it follows up with a vicious straight punch that sends the huge thing skidding back in through the waves.
[21:57] <Knobdy> Of course, you've got more problems right now, namely in the form of the massive fucking dinosaur bird that's coming your way, screaming at you with a beak shaped like a drill and full of a hell of a lot of razor sharp looking teeth.
[21:59] <Knobdy> "Kaiju's designated: Daimajin and Rodan!" A voice from command helpfully informs you the decided nickname of what's trying to kill the Falken and Mean Stalker.
<Knobdy> MEANWHILE, ACROSS THE OCEAN
<Knobdy> Raptor: You know what's great? Getting these fancy modules from the big boost in funding you guys got after the President's killed a Kaiju with an unarmed Jaeger and some jets help. Including the Fancy module you currently have equipped that lets your boosters keep going and going and going and going and sending you flying all WHEEEEEEE across the ocean towards Hawaii, to go save that old dog Simh and some fancy pants jet plane from a genuine double event.
* Joshua_Gangjeong looks across the conn-pod at Jack, suited up and fully strapped into the Raptor's systems, a wide and vicious smirk on his face. "Ready to test out our new toy?"

06[22:08] * @Jack_Harrison the laughter just melts off his face, a resolute smirk tearing a ragged gash through his stubble. He fingers a bright red switch on a secondary console. Something new.

[22:12] <Joshua_Gangjeong> The Gs are unreal. Even with the G-resistance toggled up, Joshua feels as though all the skin on his body is being ripped away from his bones. For a moment he's almost sure he died. Only the fact that he can still feel that Jack is alive through his link is proof that they still belong to the mortal coil.

Mean Stalker seems to pick up on the situation faster than the Abnormal Kaiju does and punches the thing one last time, sending it tumbling riiiiight exactly where you want it as-
[22:32] <Knobdy> Mean Stalkers own thrusters slowly fire to life as it moves to avoid the after shock of your passing. As for you, you get a nice upclose view of the confused look on what passes for hte Abnormals head as you slam your pile bunker home.
[22:36] <Knobdy> Then the poor bastard just gets completely and utterly ruined as you drive home the point. The sheer kinetic force of the impact nearly rips your arms out of their sockets and you feel the immense pain as your blow slams home and fires. Daimajin proceeds to...well, the best term is essentially evaporte, since you may as well have hit it with a massive rail-sh
[22:36] <Knobdy> shot. Chunks of it go flying off into the distance as its legs wobble unsteadily for a brief moment before falling into the ocean. Mean Stalker is standing in a wide stance as the ocean slowly closes back down in on the hole you opened up in your passing.
[22:37] <Knobdy> "...You know, Science is probably going to want one of these abnormals intact eventually." Simh points out to you both as you hear a quiet snorting in the background.
06[22:39] * @Jack_Harrison holds pose, breathing steadily. Countless vents on Raptor spew a waterfall mirage of heat, ocean churning and boiling around her feet as her massive booster unit vents.

The rush of adrenaline is gone almost as fast as it came, and although feels slightly shaky from the endorphin coursing through his body, his expression and voice are as calm as ever. "Well, if they're this fragile, then I say they have no value anyway."
01[22:41] <@Jack_Harrison> There's a fine dusting of Kaiju Blue covering half her torso, streaks of opalescent ichor staining her arm a phantasmagoria of azure.
[22:44] <Knobdy> "Well, now it's time to deal with the other one-." Mean Stalker just turns towards the city before you hear command speak up.
[22:44] <Knobdy> "Negative Mean Stalker. This is Marshall Brady, hold your positions." Brady orders, "Same goes for you Raptor. Do not engage Rodan."
[22:44] <Knobdy> "...Come again sir?" Simh speaks up, a hint of incredulity in his voice, "Did you just tell us-"
[22:45] <Knobdy> "I'm *ordering* you to stand down and to not engage the Kaiju. Let the Air Force do their job." The Marshall demands.
06[22:46] * @Jack_Harrison stares silently out through the viewscreen, over at Mean Stalker. Raptor mimicks the silent stare, accompanied by a comical maelstrom of hisses and dripping monsterblood.
[22:50] <Knobdy> "...Raptor, follow me and, just this once, do what I say." Simh asks of you as he starts to move, marching towards the City at a steady pace, taking a sort of jog, "And don't push your Jaeger too hard, I can tell from her that she's gonna need a full workover."
[22:51] <Knobdy> "Simh, what the hell do you think you're doing? I don't know what kind of operation they ran over in Los Angeles, but here you follow my orders!" Marshall Brady barks.
[22:52] <Knobdy> "I'm sorry sir, but Article 18 clearly states that I have the right to refuse to follow an order that I cannot, in good conscience, follow. What you just ordered falls under that." Simh responds, entirely calm to a person that doesn't know him. Someone who does can no doubt nearly feel the punching fury welling up in him.
