  1. While dropping my son off at Kindergarten he spotted one of his friends and the two of them raced across the huge playground to get to their classroom. When they got there they both hung up their backpacks and formed a line to wait for class. At this point his teacher approached me and asked that I make him walk to class in the future because children are not allowed to run on the playground.

  3. Seriously? Children on a playground? Not allowed to run?

  5. I asked the principal later and she confirmed that this was the rule, put in place because several years ago a child had tripped while running and broken their arm. So now children can only walk or “dance” while on the playground. Running is apparently only allowed at supervised track events because it’s just too dangerous.
