  23. “M-may...” Mason cried. Dawn comforted him, Will and Josh went and began looking for her, shouting her name. “May!” William called out. No reply. Mason got up. “Mason, I think you need some rest, let’s go back to the cabin...” Dawn insisted. Mason and Dawn walked back to the Cabin, Mason felt so uncomfortable, walking into the log cabin, while May was still out there somewhere. Dawn put him to lay down on the sofa and put a blanket on him. “You must be freezing...” Dawn said as she checked his temperature. “I’m going to go outside and look as well okay? You stay here, we're going to find May, don’t worry.” Dawn smiled. Mason laid there, looking at his surroundings, he got out his phone and tried to call his parents. “Oh god, what are they gonna think?” Mason wondered. He dialled their number, no answer, he tried again, no answer, he began going through Facebook and his mum had put up a post “woopsie! Forgot our mobiles at home! We'll contact you when we come back!” Their account was offline, and mum had told Mason before he had left that they were going to stay away from the internet. “Great, what luck” Mason said aloud. Mason was too tired to stand up, but was too worried to sleep. A knock hit the door. “Come in...” Mason yelled. No one walked in, Mason tried to walk to the door, but constantly fell over, he opened it up to see a dart outside the door. Suddenly, his memories came rushing back “Those footprints, they were of someone who was about Size 10, maybe Size 11, The fact that Josh, Mason and Dawn were okay showed signs of no forced entry... Did we forget to lock the door in our drunken state?” Mason pondered.

  25. Sirens approached the log cabin. Out came police officers, they began approaching Jason. “Hello, we're looking for Mason Williams, would that be you?” One of the police officers asked. “Yes, that would be me.” Mason replied. He invited them in, making sure that all the Bud Light from last night was disposed of. “My names officer Charles and this is my partner officer Louis, we're here on behalf of a call we received about an hour ago from a girl named Dawn, saying how you and a young girl named May had gone missing. Is May here with you?” one of the officers asked. “...No, she went missing last night, I tried to chase after her, but I was shot by a dart and passed out...” Mason replied, “The dart is on the floor outside.” Officer Louis went outside, he put on a glove, picked it up and put it in a zip lock bag. “Do you recall any of the events from last night?” Charles asked. “Briefly, like I said, being shot by the dart really messed with me... But I remember being up, pretty late, and I heard footsteps outside my bedroom door, going towards Mays, I thought maybe May had gone to the bathroom or something, but when May let out a muffled scream I sprang up and ran to her, she was dragged outside the window, I jumped out afterwards, I chased the footsteps on the ground for a bit, but that’s all I can remember.” Mason said. The police men looked at each other. “Mason, your story sounds pretty unrealistic, we'll have to bring you down to the station for further questioning.” They said. Louis cuffed Mason and dragged him outside. “Mason!?” Dawn yelled. “Why are you arresting Mason!?” asked William. Josh looked tired and didn’t seem to be home, so he didn’t reply. “Mason didn’t do anything!” William protested. “We’re taking him to the station for further questioning, if we think his story doesn’t add up we'll throw him in prison.” Louis said. “This isn’t right! A little girl is missing right now! You should be out looking for her! Not arresting her clearly innocent brother!” Dawn yelled. This was the first time Mason had ever seen Dawn angry before. Mason was put in the back of the car as they drove off.
  26.
  27. “So, Kid, there anything you want to tell us?” Louis asked. “I’ve told you everything, I don’t understand why I've been arrested...” Mason said as they pulled up to the nearest police station. They put Mason into a room and shun a bright light at him. “Kid, tell us the truth, we know you're lying.” Louis said. “I-I’m not lying...” Mason cried. “I was shot by a dart! Honestly! You saw the dart!” “Yes, we saw the dart, we saw you look down at the dart as we pulled up, telling us that you had placed it there in anticipation!” Charles yelled. “N-no I didn’t!” Mason yelled. “Mason if you confess to the crime we'll let you go.” Louis said. Hours passed and Mason never let up, he refused to answer after a while, constantly saying “no comment” eventually a young woman with bright blonde hair came bursting in. “Sir!” She yelled. “Not now Diane!” Charles yelled. “Sir, the kids got an alibi.” Diane announced. They looked up at each other. “A hunter in the woods last night claims to have accidentally shot Mason.” Charles and Louis walked out of the room and Mason followed. “I-I swear, I didn’t mean to shoot the kid!” He said. Officer Louis and Charles introduced themselves. “Now, why have you come here today?” Louis asked hastily. “I-I saw the missing person report for that girl on the news, when I saw that the boy I shot last night was on the news as her brother I had to go back, I asked the 3 kids looking around, they said Mason was in custody so I came here to explain what happened.” The Hunter said. Mason was un-cuffed. “You’re still a suspect kid, we're gonna take this guy into further questioning, tomorrow we'll be around to talk to your friends.” Louis said to Mason. “Okay.” Mason said, the nerves came out in his voice, all these thoughts came rushing through his head what if he's framed, what will his parents think, is May okay? All of these, while getting driven back to the cabin in a police car. The sky was gloomy as he approached the cabin, he opened the door.

  29. Dawn was crying while Josh was comforting her. “W-What happened?” Mason asked. William look up at Mason. “We found her Mason...”
