  1. It’s a cold December afternoon in Lawrence, Kansas. The sun is already beginning to set behind the plowed fields of which usually stand taller than a grown man with wheat. Winter is here and making itself known with its cold chill and premature darkness, much to the distaste of Ollie, who looked ridiculous in winter coats and preferred to avoid them if at all possible. This was his usual spot to stop on his daily walk with his hound, Wash, and the setting was all too familiar; except for a feint purple glow in the field in front of him.
  2. He blames it on the brain damage, as he blames every odd happenstance on; some weird-ass mind trickery that liked to make its way into his daily routine. He squints as the glow begins to brighten and form a portal-like shape. Despite the weirdness, he can’t help but think about how much better Portal would be if you were able to shoot purple portals outside of multiplayer; blue and orange are just clashy in his mind. The light grows wider as two shapes begin to emerge from the seemingly endless pit that was this portal. Wash’s ears perk up and Ollie squints even more; he really needs to remember his glasses when he leaves the house.
  3. “I told you, I can’t control it!” A female voice shouts from the opening, it sounds like it’s coming from a long train tunnel of some sort. A male voice follows hers.
  4. “What if we end up in some kind of Ku Klux Klan prayer session or in the middle of a war or worse…” He’s cut off by the girl.
  5. “What could possibly be worse than any of those things?” Ollie swears he hears her cross her arms and roll her eyes.
  6. The other voice takes a pause. “A world with no internet…” The talking stops until two bodies take form in front of the man and his dog. The girl crosses her arms; he knew she was an arm-crosser!
  7. “Wheat field; yeah, this is some scary shit, Evan.” Ollie raises his eyebrow. These two seemed oddly familiar.
  8. “Lily, control yourself. You are becoming a threat to humanity as a whole!” He throws up his hands in the air and surveys the setting.
  9. “Evan…an’ Lily?” Ollie narrows his eyes, trying to find the right words to say. They turn to him with quizzical expressions on their faces. “Uh, funny thing, but, I’m…Ollie…you know, like, Ollie. An’ you guys are…Evan an’ Lily…like…Evan an’ Lily. Yah know?” Evan crosses his arms.
  10. “Told ya.” He says with a smug expression on his face. “You’re bringing us to all our internet buddies. First me, then Eric.”
  11. Ollie holds up his hand. “Hold up. Eric?” Evan nods.
  12. “Yep, we came across him, but he passed out.” Ollie takes a moment to think, Lily stays silent.
  13. “So ya’ get to teleportin’ and ya’ go to ‘dem first? I am simply appalled.” He smirks when Lily tries to defend herself.
  14. “It’s not that I don’t like you more-I do-much more, really. I mean, I don’t even really like Eric that much anymore, and I’m pretty sure I went to Evan first because he was closer. No offense, Ev-I like you just as much as I like Ollie.” She breathes in after her long sentence which lacked the much needed breathing process. “I dunno how it works, it just happens. Evan does weird shit too! Show him!.” She huffs as if she made her point.
  15. Evan rolls his eyes and walks up to a tree. He puts his arm right through the trunk; Ollie smiles. “Kitty Pryde style, huh Ev?” Evan laughs in appreciation at the reference, Lily doesn’t seem to get it.
