  1. <Darkling> Sitting in an APC is a bit dulling, but at least you were out of the base on your own. The drive to Dr. Freyja's was a bit lengthy though now that the roads were under construction.
  2. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stares out the window's small window, chin in his hand.
  3. <Darkling> At least the driver isn't bothering to try and talk to you, just minding his own business.
  4. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Just as well. Small talk was painful to engage in when forced. He had other things on his mind. Freyja was going to scold him, wasn't she?
  5. <Darkling> The APC stops, and the back door opens, an agent already standing by waiting to escort you into the building.
  6. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stands, hads clasped behind his back as he exits the APC and enters the building.
  7. <Darkling> The agent stops by the elevator, allowing you to proceed alone.
  8. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He does so, pressing the button to take him up.
  9. <Darkling> You can see Freyja moving about in her office as the doors part on the top floor.
  10. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He approaches, knocking on the doorframe once he's close enough to her office.
  11. <Darkling> "Come in." She replies.
  12. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He steps in. "Good to see your office survived."
  13. <Darkling> "Yes, good for you really, since any damage to the facility could cause quite a setback."
  14. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "You're in charge, I'm not worried."
  15. <Darkling> "Please, take a seat." She motions to the usual leather couch.
  16. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sits down, relaxing back.
  17. <Darkling> She takes a seat as well, clipboard in hand. "So, any lasting irritation from you 'infection'?"
  18. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Discomfort when touched, otherwise no."
  19. <Darkling> "Good." She scribbles away. "This is the first time we have seen this type of feedback."
  20. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "The same as my drop in body temperature."
  21. <Darkling> "Hmm." A noncommittal noise. "And has it faded some?" She points her pen to the buttons on your shirt.
  22. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He opens his shirt to show her.
  23. <Darkling> She leans over to examine him.
  24. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His cheeks redden some from the view, bit sits still for the examination.
  25. <Darkling> She runs the pen from her lips down her neckline as she examines. "Hmm.."
  26. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He tries to look away, but even from the corner of his eye he's watching.
  27. <Darkling> She leans back up, and jots down some more notes.
  28. <Darkling> "And how are you finding living at the base?"
  29. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...acceptable. Behind enemy lines, all that." He buttons back up.
  30. <Darkling> "Yes, one might think it would be much easier to access certain information now.."
  31. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "One might agree." He smiles faintly.
  32. <Darkling> "Well, you are booked for five hours with me, and our session certainly won't take that long."
  33. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Transportation back?" Obviously the APC he arrived in won't do, unless they work for the same people.
  34. <Darkling> She crosses her legs slowly, short skirt leaving very little to the imagination.
  35. <Darkling> "Transportation will not be arriving until you are due back at base. Therefore I've arranged something else."
  36. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I would expect nothing less fro you, Doctor Freyja."
  37. <Darkling> "Of course. Was there anything you wished to discuss?"
  38. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...if you don't mind. What...was the original like?"
  39. <Darkling> "The original." Her eyes widen slightly, cheeks barely flushing.
  40. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I'm just a copy. I don't know if I'm anything like him or now, since we...I...was raised differently from him, I'm sure. I want to know what he was like."
  41. <Darkling> "He was smart, brilliant even, before the Second Impact he was a member of the Mensa society. Quite a charmer, had the sweetest way with words, and could sweet talk fish out of the brook and the birds out of the trees. ."
  42. <Darkling> "He was a leader in xenobiology, which is more than reason enough for you to have been made his prodigy."
  43. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Well, that certainly explained a few things, didn't it?
  44. <Darkling> "That sufficient?"
  45. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Yes, thank you."
  46. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I should be getting to work." He stands and approaches Freyja, then leans in. He wants something, a hug?
  47. <Darkling> "Good. I need a drink now." She sets her clipboard facedown on the chair and stands. "Would you care for one?"
  48. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Only one, I have things to do yet, after all."
  49. Darkling> She walks over to a cabinet, removing two crystal glasses and a similar jug.
  50. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He considers mentioning lead poisoning to her...but its Doctor Freyja. She already knows. So...how was he getting to the base if not via APC?
  51. <Darkling> She pours an amber liquid into each glass, then corks the jug, placing it back into the cabinet.
  52. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "What is it?"
  53. <Darkling> "Whiskey, dated before the Second Impact." She hands you a glass with a more than modest amount in it.
  54. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...aged and rare."
  55. <Darkling> "Just how some like it." She takes a sip.
  56. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...they have good taste." He takes a sip and winces. He's never encountered liquor very often.
  57. <Darkling> "Drink up, it'll warm your spirits." She winks and finishes hers, setting down the cup to head over to her desk."
  58. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He does as she suggests, wondering what adults saw in this activity.
  59. <Darkling> She rummages around some files in her desk, looking for something, behind shaking as she does so.
  60. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His gaze moves to the upside down clipboard. Carefully he picks it up, cheeks burning from a warmth starting to spread.
  61. <Darkling> The top page has some actual notes on it of what they discussed.
  62. <Darkling> The next few pages down have sketches on them, very vivid ones.
  63. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...anything usefu- that's a position he hasn't heard of. No! Look for something useful.
  64. <Darkling> "Ah, here it is." A drawer closes.
  65. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He puts the clipboard down as he found it.
  66. <Darkling> She turns around, walking over to you and handing you a sheet of paper.
  67. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He takes it, looking it over.
  68. <Darkling> Blueprints of the city sewers. "Follow me now." She heads to the elevator.
  69. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He lingers long enough to take one of the pictures Freyja had drawn, offering him an accurate representation of her anatomy. Then he followed.
  70. <Darkling> She takes him down the elevator into the basement, the room he qas quite familiar with.
  71. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His gaze moves from side to side, counting them as they pass. Or trying.
  72. <Darkling> She accesses a panel he hasn't see before, and a door opens. "This leads into the sewer. You can from here get to the Base if you follow those blue prints."
  73. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Thank you, Freyja."
  74. <Darkling> "My pleasure," she leans down to whisper this, brushing herself against him. "Hurry along now, and remember to be back withing time."
  75. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A shiver down his spine, one last look to her and he departs.
  76. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." The sewers. Lovely. No one said this work was easy though. He pulls a pen-light from a pocket and turns it on. He consults the map before starting forward.
  77. <Darkling> It smells down here, like sewage of course, what else. It's warm and the air is moist, and you begin to sweat despite your lowered core temperature.
  78. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "..." He tried not to think of the drawing tucked away in his pocket, occassionally checking the map. Best not to think on what he was sharing the sewer with as well. But...what was he going to be looking for? Freyja expected him to find data on Rasia no doubt.
  79. <Darkling> A few sections of the sewer are revealed to the street above from the damage, and more than a couple of times you are required to squeeze between some fallen rubble and the wall, getting more than thoroughly covered in slime.
  80. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Surely Rasia and Lahja were having a better time of it back in the base. Corrin...drowning him in the muck would be a fun experience, wouldn't it? Ivy...he wasn't sure about yet.
  81. <Darkling> It takes nearly an hour to reach a marker showing he was under the base.
  82. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He checks his watch, then the map again. He tucked it away, sweeping the area with his light for any signs of access, out of this damn sewer.
  83. <Darkling> There is an access hatch above, up a shot rusted ladder.
  84. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Let tetanus be the least of his concerns now. He starts up the ladder for the hatch.
  85. <Darkling> The hatch gives way and you find yourself in a small broom closet. There's a bundle on the floor in front of the door with a note on it.
  86. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Lets drink some bleach. No, read the note instead.
  87. <Darkling> "Some clothes so you are not found due to the smell. V"
  88. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He's quick to change into the new set of clothing, glad for it, dropping the bundle of old clothing down the hatch.
  89. <Darkling> Where to then Mr Faustus?
  90. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He wants data on Grendel and Ivy. Two unknowns he hoped to clear up. As memory serves as to the layout of the base, the best place to find this information is...
  91. <Darkling> Lit may have access, but he's staying at the base now. Might not be safe.
  92. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Then where else?
  93. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Hm. The science offices.
  94. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Or medical.
  95. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Medical it is. Both Ivy and Grendel's pilot would have to have passed through there at least once.
  96. <Darkling> Down the hallways then. There's some staff about, but they are expecting to see you around the base. A few even over a smile.
  97. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A brief smile for them, best not to call attention to himself by being too anti-social.
  98. <Darkling> Through the infirmary, then onto the offices.
  99. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He keeps a relaxed demeanor, but he's ready to bolt. Strategic retreat has its acceptable situations. This didn't seem like it would be one, but you can't be sure.
  100. <Darkling> Most of the offices are occupied on this floor, and the ones that are not, seem to be useless.
  101. <Wilhelm_Faustus> That just figures, doesn't it? Still, that hour hike through the underground will not go to waste. Keep looking.
  102. <Wilhelm_Faustus> We'll continue the search on the next floor down.
  103. <Darkling> Less people down here, mostly research staff.
  104. <Wilhelm_Faustus> If there isn't anything here we have one more floor below the look around. Anything here of use? Lets see...
  105. <Darkling> Even less staff around, that being a single clerk that passes by you with haste.
  106. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Excellent. Now to find the office likely to have the best access, though one logged onto the database would be perfect. Asking too much perhaps?
  107. <Darkling> Well, there's an empty looking office to your left. Maybe try that one first.
  108. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A reasonable plan he concludes, slipping in warily.
  109. <Darkling> A few filing cabinets and a bank of computers.
  110. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He looks over the bank of computers, but turns to try one of the filing cabinets first.
  111. <Darkling> Hundred of folders with files in them of possible pilots and their compatibility. None of the names seem familiar.
  112. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He checks a few more drawers, then on to another filing cabinet.
  113. <Darkling> A few more folders of remote NERV bases.
  114. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Interesting. He pulls the files out for skimming.
  115. <Darkling> NERV Berlin, NERV Austin, NERV Ottawa, NERV Antarctica, NERV Siberia...
  116. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...just how many bases did EI need
  117. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ?
  118. <Darkling> A few names are blacked out on the page.
  119. <Wilhelm_Faustus> This causes a frown as he flips through the pages.
  120. <Darkling> Nothing else useful in this cabinet.
  121. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The files are tucked back away. Any filing cabinets I missed?
  122. <Darkling> The other ones in the room are empty.
  123. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The computers then.
  124. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Lets see what they have to tell him.
  125. <Darkling> It boots up to a simple prompt asking for a username.
  126. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sits back.
  127. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Well, who else was there? He sits forward. Surely Freyja has access.
  128. <Darkling> A flashing cursor now is asking for a password.
  129. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Considering her obsession with my progenitor...
  130. <Darkling> It asks for a password again. That would have seemed to be a wrong one.
  131. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...then lets try..." He types.
  132. <Wilhelm_Faustus> L-o-k-i
  133. <Darkling> The computer brings up a prompt of directory trees and miscellaneous files.
  134. <Wilhelm_Faustus> That her password is Loki is something to think on later, perhaps. He leans in, examining the directory trees.
  135. <Darkling> Folders on each of the pilots, as well as a few other names.
  136. <Wilhelm_Faustus> And who are the others?
  137. <Darkling> One on Madeline, one on Lit, another on a... Icelin?
  138. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...things just get more interesting. A quick peek at her file, then.
  139. <Darkling> A very quick log on her health, family status, and the fact that she is sync positive.
  140. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Hm. Something to keep in mind. Out of her file...and into Ivy's.
  141. <Wilhelm_Faustus> 'You know, Corrin, I had a look at Ivy's file. Her measurements and combat scores are both impressive.' He smirks to himself.
  142. <Darkling> Information on her origins. She's from California it seems. Both her parents were killed during the events following the Second Impact. She was discovered at a hospice and identified as sync positive, and quickly shipped to the Austin location.
  143. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Yes, Corrin mentioned Austin often. After that?
  144. <Darkling> Following that are her testing scores, showing her to be one of the most promising pilots they had recruited. Smart, and quickly adapting to situations. Her solo combat scores are off the charts.
  145. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He snorts.
  146. <Darkling> Her sync ratio is better than yours on average even.
  147. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His teeth grind.
  148. <Darkling> There's some information below about her Aesir, at least there should be, all of it looks to be blacked out.
  149. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Anything useful? So far the file was more irritating than anything else.
  150. <Darkling> Mention of her working with Lahja's mother, and the creation of the Aesir, and their ability to connect so well.
  151. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Something not unfamiliar between Null Drei and himself. He reads further.
  152. <Darkling> Some mention of her being transferred to Berlin to begin tests on compatibility with the other Aesir, and that's everything important.
  153. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...nothing important. A waste of time. Nothing that would tell him what was happening to him or her in connection to their Aesir. Maybe he can find something on Grendel.
  154. <Darkling> There isn't anything in here about Grendel, or much about the Aesir in general.
  155. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He'll at least check his own file then.
  156. <Darkling> His own file. Well, nothing really special in here. Years of bloodwork and medical tests. His growth rate, synch tests, and a history of the clones.
  157. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Just how long can this history date back?
  158. <Darkling> Back to the first tries it appears. There were quite a few failures. There is a good amount of information on where each succeeded and each failed.
  159. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He moves through the history to more recent events concerning the clones.
  160. <Darkling> One clone died apparently during the first contact experiment, his body was recovered. Two more are recorded as missing during contact experiments.
  161. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...how many of us have you devoured, Loki?
  162. <Darkling> Then it shows your predecessor, killed by a guard at the harvest dome. His body was recovered.
  163. <Wilhelm_Faustus> So...I'm not the second. Far from it. Well, it really doesn't matter.
  164. <Darkling> As far as your memories go, you are the second however.
  165. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He forwns, already feeling in a sour mood as he logs out of the computer.
  166. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He glances to his watch. Time to get moving. He traces his steps back the way he'd come, making for the same closet he'd first stepped out of.
  167. <Darkling> You don't run into anyone that would note you shouldn't be here on your way back to the closet.
  168. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Good. Anyone getting in has way would find encountering an irritated aryan to be unpleasnt. He slips into the closet, then down the hatch and back into the sewer.
  169. <Darkling> His discarded clothes are there waiting, except a shirt, which is traveling away from him, a tail trailing under it.
  170. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His eye twitches as his lifts up the shirt.
  171. <Darkling> A rat scurries away with a squeak.
  172. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...burning his clothing was the best option at this point. None the less he gathers them up and starts his way back.
  173. <Darkling> The tunnels are much the same, though there seems to be a steadily increasing number of rats going the opposite direction.
  174. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Any brave enough to get in his way recieve a kick as their reward. Fucking rats...take three home. One for Hel, Rasia and Corrin.
  175. <Darkling> A few squeaks and protests, but for the most part they keep running past.
  176. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Rats are always the first to flee a sinking ship. What could be scaring them, if anything? Whatever. Press on.
  177. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His feet shuffle, slowing to a stop.
  178. <Darkling> Some steam bursts from a pipe up ahead and there's a rumble.
  179. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...
  180. <Darkling> The rumble passes.
  181. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Something above, a Troll maybe? Nothing to worry about, at last.
  182. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He starts forward again.
  183. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Tie the rat tails together, ratchucks
  184. <Darkling> There's a hole in the wall that wasn't on your first trip through here, it created a gouge from one side to the other, about two feet deep.
  185. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Tunneling underground, maybe?
  186. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Well...no time. He had to get back.
  187. <Darkling> Nothing else on the way, and he soon reaches the shut door leading to Freyja's basement.
  188. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Locked?
  189. <Darkling> Nope, left unlocked, and Freyja is waiting within the room.
  190. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He dusts himself off as he steps inside.
  191. <Darkling> "Back on time, and with time to spare. You should shower and change." She points to the glass shower on the other side of the room used usually to clean off LCL.
  192. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...Trolls in the sewer, maybe. One I might be able to confirm." He strips off his clothing, leaving it like a trail on the way to the shower.
  193. <Darkling> "Trolls? Unlikely, but I will drop words with the right people." She has her clipboard out again, watching.
  194. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I felt it, and saw evidence of its passing." He turns on the water and steps inside. Washing the collected sewer gunk felt good.
  195. <Darkling> "Felt it?" He pen starts moving quickly. "How exactly did you feel it?"
  196. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He runs a hand through his wet hair, considering how to answer. "It's...sort of like when you know someone is staring at you. Sensing another presence."
  197. <Darkling> "Odd. And you know this was a Troll because?"
  198. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...it's happened before, when a Troll attacked out APC."
  199. <Darkling> "Something to look into then with some future tests."
  200. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He shuts off the water and reaches for a towel.
  201. <Darkling> Freyja holds one out for him, ready to be wrapped in.
  202. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He obliges.
  203. <Darkling> She wraps it around him, rubbing him dry as a mother would.
  204. <Darkling> "All better. She moves off to get him some clothing and holds it out to him.
  205. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He takes the offered clothing and starts to dress.
  206. <Darkling> She picks up his old clothing, unfolding the paper he took, a smirk crossing her face. She folds it back up and stuffs it into his front pocket, making sure it's in there good. "Your escort is already upstairs. Don't keep him waiting."
  207. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "..." Well thats embarassing. "Of course, Freyja."
  208. <Darkling> Upstairs the agent is waiting. He ushers you into the APC and begins to drive you back to the base. Before long you've completed the trip again above ground, and are brought back to your temporary room where the other pilots await.
  209. <Wilhelm_Faustus> That was...exhausting.
  210. <Rasia> Rasia licks her teeth, head rising.
  211. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He doesn't smell fresh out of the sewer, so thats a bonus. He makes his way to his bunk and sits down.
  212. <Darkling> Though the scent of Freyja's perfume does waft around him.
  213. <Rasia> A low, irritated noise.
  214. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I was at her office, not much I can do about it." He leans over to untie his shoes.
  215. Corrin looks at the older Pilot for a moment midstep, snorts, then goes back to pacing.
  216. <Rasia> Without much of a reply, she clicks her teeth, rolling onto her back. #5"Bad."# Referring to Freyja, obviously.
  217. <Darkling> Ivy has her nose in a book, sitting well away from Rasia.
  218. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wil lays down stretching out on his bunk.
  219. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja is scribbling in a notebook. She doesn't look particularly enthralled by whatever she's doing.
  220. <Rasia> Rasia rises, eyes wandering from one copilot to the next in sequence. "Run." She stands, making for the window.
  221. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Run?" Lahja asks, looking up from her scribblings. She hops off her bed after a moment or two, snapping into a more alarmed state.
  222. <Rasia> The Israeli fidgets with the lock, prying it open if she can. "Itchy." She replies back to Lahja. Restless?
  223. <Darkling> The window opens an inch before locking in place.
  224. Corrin turns and heads back towards the other side of the room, hands at his side. He ignores the scene at the window.
  225. Wilhelm_Faustus sighs and sits up.
  226. <Rasia> Her arm's too thick to wedge out past her hand. With a snarl she slams the window back down and huffs towards the door.
  227. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "C'mon Rasia, I'll take you to the gym. Anyone else?" He's already getting his shoes on.
  228. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja settles down after the explanation. Better than a troll attack, at any rate. She tosses the notebook onto the bed with a nod. "Good idea."
  229. <Rasia> A grunt. But she follows, bare feet wiggling.
  230. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He grabs trunks and a towel from his bag before heading out, glancing back to Rasia and Lahja.
  231. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Either of you coming along?" Lahja asks as she puts on her shoes, then does some quick work on her hair. Either way she's off after Wilhelm before long.
  232. <Darkling> Ivy is not, too into her book.
  233. * Corrin shakes his head, now sitting on his own bunk.
  234. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He leads them through the halls without stopping once to seek directions, taking them to the main gym. All the equipment you could need, an indoor track and an olympic sized pool. (From Darkling himself)
  235. <Rasia> She fidgets and sulks most of the way there. Forcing herself to start jogging along the track, her footfalls are bare and muffled. "..."
  236. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "You'll have to make due until they let us back outside the base." He says, watching her jog around the track.
  237. <Rasia> "Book!" She complains again, itching herself.
  238. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "This is nice." Lahja says tiredly and without much enthusiasm. She makes her way over to the pool, sitting next to it. She regards her reflection in the pool, adjusting her hair a bit more.
  239. <Wilhelm_Faustus> They still didn't bring her the damn book? He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose and closing his eyes.
  240. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "How's the eye?" Lahja asks, glancing over to Wilhelm.
  241. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "An annoyance, but otherwise fine."
  242. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja rises, satisfied with whatever adjustments she made, then walks over to a punching bag. She's a bit on the sluggish and sloppy side today. "I noticed something a while back that might interest you."
  243. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "And what is that?"
  244. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Or maybe it's not all that interesting. Captain Ivy has funny little designs on her back."
  245. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "You mean a tattoo?"
  246. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Maybe." Lahja gradually gets worked up, hitting the bag harder than before, albeit rather carelessly. "I'm not sure I'd take it at face value anymore."
  247. <Rasia> Rasia slows to a jog to eavesdrop, the pool acting as a fantastic resonator.
  248. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Tell me what you saw, then." He sits at the edge of the pool, legs dangling in the water as he lays back.
  249. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It looked like wings. Pretty, but strange because she was glowing." She says it a bit distantly as she smacks the bag. "Maybe it is a tattoo, but it's made of something nasty and radioactive and I'm going to lose my hair and die young."
  250. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Bioluminescence is neither radioactive or deadly."
  251. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "What's the point of it, though? Does it serve any purpose other than glowing?"
  252. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "In a human being? None I'm aware of. An identifying mark ment someone or something, perhaps."
  253. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "What about outside of humans, though? Like bugs or fish."
  254. <Rasia> "Lure." Rasia adds, on her way through another lap. "Mate."
  255. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Camouflage, attracting prey, repelling predators or communication."
  256. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja freezes at Rasia's words, then pales just a little. She stares blankly at the punching bag.
  257. <Wilhelm_Faustus> It shouldn't be any surprise Rasia knows so much on animal mating habits, should it?
  258. <Rasia> Rasia slows to a stop, staring at the frozen Lahja.
  259. <Rasia> "Rr...?"
  260. <Lahja_Ilvainen> After the inquiry Lahja delivers a particularly vicious, for her, anyway, punch to the bag. It'd definitely be a head shot on a person. "This is kind of fun." she says, a mixture of awkwardness and anger in her voice.
  261. <Rasia> Head cocked, Rasia comes closer, peering Lahja up and down.
  262. <Wilhelm_Faustus> During the silence Wilhelm has fallen asleep, legs still dangling in the water.
  263. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Takes some getting used to, doesn't it?" Lahja asks, shaking her hands around and completely trying to change the topic. Looks like she actually did overdo it just a tad, her knuckles sporting just a hint of blood on one hand.
  264. <Rasia> "Used to?"
  265. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Attacking things like that." She gives the bag a little slap for emphasis.
  266. <Rasia> A wry smile. Rasia gets closer, grabbing the bag to feel its weight. "Stronger. Attack, get stronger." Less a command, more a statement. Her nose wrinkles, an itch building and passing.
  267. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja nods, flashing a quick smile in return. "I want to get stronger. And faster. Trolls. Religious fanatics." And then after a pause she adds. "Jerks."
  268. <Rasia> "Jerk?"
  269. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Like that idiot Arthur at school. He's a jerk. My father is a jerk, too."
  270. <Rasia> She nods with gradual comprehension. "Father..." A thoughtful, unfocused look.
  271. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Mine is a lot like Pilon, but bigger and stronger and louder. What about yours?" Lahja asks curiously.
  272. <Rasia> "Um..." A squirm. A scratch of the head. "Bad."
  273. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "So he's probably a jerk, too."
  274. <Rasia> A nod.
  275. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja flashes a fairly cheerful smile despite the subject matter, though it quickly falters. "Oh well... at least we don't have to deal with them here."
  276. <Rasia> "Gone!" Rasia adds for emphasis, and backs up to give the bag a few lazy slugs. Agitation and restlessness let up, at least a little, and she looks content.
