New to Danganronpa? /drg/ edition

Here is a pastebin to help you understand how to get started.

TLDR version
Play DR1, DR2, DRAE and DRV3 on whatever platform you want, PC is easier to obtain.

FOLLOW THIS ORDER

1) Danganronpa 1 Trigger happy havoc

OPTIONAL- Danganronpa 1 anime

2) Danganronpa 2 Goodbye despair <-- Don't look this up until you beat DR1. Re-occurring survivor from the previous game. Fucking steam spoils that small twist.

3) Danganronpa Another episode <-- Don't look this up until you beat DR1. One of the main characters is a survivor from DR1.

OPTIONAL- Danganronpa 3 anime <-- Don't you even think about looking this shit up, the spoilers are immense. Beat DR 1 before you look up any of the content above.

4) Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony <-- You need to play DR1 and DR2 before playing V3. You can skip AE/DR3 but you'll miss some minor references.

Long version
The best way to play Danganronpa 1, Danganronpa 2, Danganronpa Another Episode and Danganronpa V3 is entirely opinionated and personal preference.
Recommended PC because you can get it cheaper on steam or pirate it.
Though we prefer you buy it because it gives the developers more interest in their western audiences.

The Light novels

TLDR version Read Danganronpa Zero and Ultra despair
DR IF is publicized fan-fiction, read Kirigiri or Togami if you like either of those characters.
They are stories about the characters before the events of DR1.

Long version
Here are the ones that have official translations:
Danganronpa If- A what if a certain character didn't die in DR1 and how it changed the outcome of DR1. You can unlock it after beating DR2.
Ultra Despair (character name) Not going to say the name because it's a small spoiler if they survive or not, its places that character in the events of Danganronpa Another Episode. You can unlock it after beating DRAE.

Then there are 4 other novels that don't have any official translations:
Danganronpa Zero - A prequel to DR1.
Danganronpa Kirigiri - a novel dedicated to Kirigiri Kyoko.
Danganronpa: Togami - a novel dedicated to Togami Byakuya.
Makoto Naegi's Worst Day Ever - a novel dedicated to Naegi Makoto.

The Anime

TLDR
Watch the DR1 anime after beating the game.
The anime doesn't give the same amount of depth the DR1 game has and is kind of rushed.

DR3 is a sequel and prequel to DR2

Long version
The anime for Danganronpa 1 is basically a giant summary of DR1
We highly recommend watching it after you beat DR1 instead of watching the anime before playing the game.
But you can skip the anime. It's not necessary.

Danganronpa 3 Future arc takes place after the events of Danganronpa 2 and focuses on DR1 surviving characters.
Danganronpa 3 Despair arc takes place before the events of Danganronpa 1 and focuses on the DR2 cast.
You're supposed to watch an anime in that order: Future episode 1, Despair episode 1, Future episode 2, Despair episode 2 etc. The last episode you're supposed to watch is Hope episode.
Super Danganronpa 2.5 is the OVA that takes place before Hope episode. You should watch it after you finish DR3.

The Manga

Most of the DR manga has self-explanatory titles and should be read only after you finish corresponding games. The only exception is Killer Killer, which takes place between DR1 and DR2. You should read it after you finish DR3.

Games
Danganronpa Another episode is wasted potential and its shit because of that. But I love this game, a lot in fact.
Because it gives my favorite character all the development I could ever want. But pandering to me doesn't make it a good game.

This games strength is its dialogue, dark themes, topics, and honestly the story isn't that bad.
But the game-play is just fucking bad yo. It's really bad.

The Light novels
Read DR Zero, its really fucking good.
IF is a cutesy story that gives development to an undeveloped character.

Anime
The anime for Danganronpa 1 is basically a giant summary of DR1 rushed and loses all depth and characterization.

Danganronpa 3 the anime suffers from the same problem as DR1, but this anime uses existing information poorly.
This anime has split us in half because it had good moments and bad moments and committed the ultimate sin.
Fan-service. I think it's a 6/10 anime.
