Elegance

There is one thing that is difficult to teach and that, perhaps because of this, is becoming increasingly rare: the elegance of behavior. It is a gift that goes far beyond the correct use of cutlery and covers much more than saying a simple thank you in the face of kindness.

It is the elegance that accompanies us from the first hour of the morning until bedtime and that manifests itself in the most prosaic situations, when there is no party or photographers around.

It is elegance without obligation.

It is possible to detect it in people who praise more than they criticize. In the people who listen. And when they speak, they don't judge themselves feeling like "the owner of the truth"

It is possible to detect it in people who do not use a higher tone of voice when addressing attendants.

In people who avoid embarrassing matters because they do not take pleasure in humiliating others.

It is possible to detect it in punctual people. In people who know that their elders are often grumpy and still treat them with the deference they deserve.

Elegant is the one who shows interest in subjects they do not know, is the one who presents outside the festive dates, is the one who keeps what they promised...

Giving flowers is always elegant.

It is elegant not to be too spacious.

It is elegant for you to do something for someone and that someone will never know what you had to go through  to do.

It is elegant not to change your style just to adapt to the other.

It is very elegant not to talk about money in informal chats.

It is elegant to return affection and solidarity.

Silence is elegant in the face of rejection.

Last name, jewels and snobness do not replace the elegance of the gesture.

There is no book that teaches anyone to have a generous view of the world, to be in it in a non-arrogant way.

Kindness is elegant; kind attitudes speak more than a thousand images.

Open the door for someone? It is very elegant.

Give someone a place to sit? It is very elegant.

Smiling is always very elegant and does damn good for the soul.

Offer help? Very elegant.

Look in the eyes when talking? Essentially elegant.

One can try to capture this natural delicacy by observation, but trying to imitate it is unproductive.

The way out is to develop in yourself the art of living together, regardless of social status: just excuse our rude side, who thinks that "with a friend you don't have to have to be fussy". If the friends do not deserve a certain cordiality, it's the enemies who will not appreciate it someday.

Education rusts without use. And, detail: it is not being a stuck-up.
