  1. <Darkling> The heavy APC churned along the street, small rocks and debris that would cleaned up later by night crews crunching under it's heavy treads. Lights were just flickering to life, almost illuminating a path for the APC as it trudged along. Everything was usually silent at dusk in the dome, silence dominated the concrete and steel buildings, an almost forbidden, abandoned feeling hanging in the air.
  2. <Darkling> Lit sat across from Wil, Rasia beside him. “It is a nice place, do not let this fool you. I am sure it is the same in the Hamburg dome at this time of night, yes?”
  3. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...ja, herr Captain." He lowers his book ever so slightly to peer over the top.
  4. <Darkling> Captain Lit Skäldbjorn was a bear of a man. His bulk seemed to take up much of the one side of the APC's sitting quarters. Two gashes stretched across the left of his forehead and down to his jawline. His left eye stared milky and unfixed, and his thick black beard hid his mouth, even when he spoke.
  5. <Mr_Rage> Rasia, predictably, watches Wilhelm like a hawk. A hawk in a winter coat and scarf, both alternating a dull red and black, despite the comfortable temperature of the APC. "..."
  6. <Darkling> "It will be no trouble adjusting then." His arms remained crossed over his chest the whole time, though he seemed fairly relaxed.
  7. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." The book lifts back up into place, where it blocks most of his face.
  8. <Darkling> "You are not much for talk I see."
  9. <Wilhelm_Faustus> You can almost hear him say 'How observant.' But he doesn't say a word.
  10. <Darkling> ". . ."
  11. <Darkling> His beard bristles and shifts in an unseen wind.
  12. <Wilhelm_Faustus> How much longer can he ignore the staring hawk that is Rasia, though?
  13. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His head turns slightly, a blue eye focusing on her. ". . ."
  14. <Mr_Rage> Rasia narrows her eyes, hunching ever-so-slightly.
  15. <Darkling> A bit of a grin forms under Lit's beard.
  16. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He closes the book on his finger, still holding it in one hand. He reaches out and gives her a light bop between the eyes with the spine of the book. "...don't stare."
  17. <Mr_Rage> Holy shit she just growled at you, Wilhelm. Swatting at the book violently, she scratches at the boy with mitten-clad hands.
  18. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He leans back to his own side of the APC and then some to avoid her assault, facial expression neutral but eyes a little colder. Dismissive? He opens the book and goes back to reading.
  19. <Darkling> "I think you two shall get along just fine." He looks mightily satisfied for no apparent reason.
  20. <Darkling> A voice comes over the comm in the APC: "Five minutes til arrival -skssh-"
  21. <Mr_Rage> She settles back to a low fume at the announcement, clenching fists.
  22. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A sigh. That's about it.
  23. <Darkling> The rest of the APC ride ends in dead silence, other than the grinding of the treads. What should only be ten minutes feels stretched into an hour. With a whine, the APC stops, and a voice comes over the comm again. “All out.” The back hatch opens with a whoosh of air, Lit is quick and out first.
  24. <Mr_Rage> Rasia stands, giving the boy one last "Tch" before heading out after Lit.
  25. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stands up, book in hand, and follows out after Rasia, at a distance.
  26. <Darkling> The street their on is highly forgettable, as is most of the outer regions of the dome. Bland steel and concrete skyscrapers rise up a half dozen stories here, near the edge of the dome, and looming above them the dark snowy sky is all but ink black.
  27. Wilhelm_Faustus looks up to the top of the dome and stares.
  28. <Darkling> The deep groan of the outer walls can be heard, as the thick armoured shell is raising into place. Lit looks up briefly before motioning forward to the unrefined building. "Your new home."
  29. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He reluctantly away and toward the building and is...completely unimpressed.
  30. <Darkling> The interior entrance seems no better. Polished steel and chrome, black carpeting and minimal decor.
  31. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Well...the steel and chrome are familiar anyway. He runs a finger along some of it.
  32. <Darkling> Lit pushes the button for the elavator, and a "bing" greets them with open doors. Up the go. They have a top suite, with access to the roof.
  33. <Mr_Rage> Rasia sniffs the air, ensuring it's all familiar. Save for Him, o course.
  34. <Darkling> As it rises, Lit swipes a card under the buttons, granting them access. The elevator slows, doors open, directly into their suite.
  35. <Darkling> For what passes for luxury in Asgarth, their suite wasn't too badly off. Thick, plush carpets. Marble floors and counters in the bathrooms and kitchen. One wall that doubled as their television.
  36. <Darkling> Though, the decor again, seemed drab enough, mostly shades of grey, blacks, silvers and chrome.
  37. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ."
  38. <Mr_Rage> Rasia seems taken aback, eyes darting over the room intently.
  39. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He steps inside. "...acceptable."
  40. <Darkling> A big palm slaps his back, nearly shoving him off his feet, as Lit bellows a laugh. "Good good!" He enters the suite main, the TV flickering to life at his approach.
  41. Wilhelm_Faustus moves off to check the rest of the suite, such as bedrooms. Was his stuff here ahead of him?
  42. <Darkling> It was, how convenient that they could fly it here, but not him. No, he had to endure that lengthy underground rail transport.
  43. Rasia chews on something unseen, walking an uneven 'patrol' of sorts throughout the suite.
  44. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A snort at the thought of it as he examines the few meagre boxes.
  45. <Darkling> Lit goes about inspecting the apartment proper, seeing what food supplies they had, vantage viewing points from the window and balcony, and leaves the two pilots to themselves for the moment.
  46. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sets his book on the top box, hands sliding into his pockets as he continues looking around.
  47. <Darkling> As for the rest of the apartment, the bedrooms themselves are small, stretching 12 feet in length, and a mere 7 feet wide. They've each got a bed, black and grey sheets, a black wood desk and matching bookshelf.
  48. <Darkling> There's luckily two full bathrooms, black marble and chrome sparkling clean.
  49. Rasia nearly runs into the boy, jolted out of her focus with a grunt.
  50. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He looks at her from over the top of his glasses.
  51. <Darkling> The kitchen and living room are open spaced, 20 feet long, 15 wide, furnished by a black leather couch, two recliners, and some bar stools around the kitchen counter.
  52. <Darkling> The television, having turned to life on their entering the suite, shows a camera view from outside the dome. Snow is plastered to a good third of the camera. The rest of the view shows snow, ice, and endless black.
  53. Rasia sneaks past him, to explore her own room, the cramped quarters coaxing a familiarity from under the scarf.
  54. <Darkling> Rasia's meagre possessions greet her in her room, piled on top of the oppressive, yet comfy looking bed.
  55. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He watches her go over his shoulder, then starts looking for the roof access a suite like this was sure to had.
  56. <Darkling> Oddly enough, he can't find it.
  57. Rasia immediately snatches her sole important possession from the bed, finding a place to hide it.
  58. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...hrm."
  59. <Darkling> Inside the apartment proper, there is no access going up. The only exits are the elevator and the balcony.
  60. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The door to the balcony slides open, then slides shut. Next thing he's up the ladder.
  61. <Rasia> "..." You've got a tail, Wilhelm.
  62. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stops and peers down before reaching the top. ". . ."
  63. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Did she plan to assault him? Molest him?
  64. <Rasia> In your dreams, perhaps. She signs, carefully on account of the ladder. 'Down'
  65. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He climbs the rest of the way up.
  66. Rasia looks to the OD. 'Get him?'
  67. <Darkling> A nod from Lit gives the 'go for it.'
  68. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He rests his hands over his hips, looking out at the rest of the dome.
  69. Rasia scampers up the ladder, peering over it. With a level of stealth Wilhelm would be jealous of, she creeps closer, ready to seize him by the legs.
  70. <Darkling> The view from up here right now isn't so bad. The inner city looms before and above them. buildings getting taller and taller towards the centre of the dome. Street lamps and skylights keep a decent amount of it visible, though it being night, they leave much to the imagination. At the very centre however, they seem to dwindle down to nothingness where a thriving mass of vegetation surrounds a massive black pyramid.
  71. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Once hes lost interest in the other buildings he peers up, trying to see outside the dome. There's the Black Moon...the the regular Moon is...
  72. <Rasia> --Well, it isn't there, Wil, but with the iron grip on your shins...
  73. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He looks down. "...the hell?"
  74. Rasia pulls!
  75. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Back he goes, arms flailing, head smacking against the roof.
  76. <Darkling> Oh, there's the regular moon Wil.
  77. Rasia carries him back to the apartment where he belongs, dropping him on the couch with a warning 'stay' growl.
  78. <Darkling> Lit shuts the balcony door behind them and leans over Wil. "Did not hurt you too badly, did frauline?"
  79. <Wilhelm_Faustus> What the fuck was that all about? He adjusts his glasses, giving Rasia the look. He reaches to the back of his head, frowning at what he feels. "...nothing serious, Herr Kapitan."
  80. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He pulls his hand away, fingers curling to hide his fingertips.
  81. <Darkling> "Good good." and he leaves Wil to take care of the wound himself.
  82. Rasia scrunches her nose, briefly, but doesn't investigate further just yet.
  83. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He pops up and is off for the bathroom quickly, door closed and locked behind him with what might be urgency.
  84. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Once satisfied he emerges from the bathroom, hair slicked back perfectly and fingers clean of incriminating evidence.
  85. Rasia sits on the couch, eyes darting towards him.
  86. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He snorts and turns away, off to claim a room for himself.
  87. <Darkling> Before he makes it to the balcony doors, a dull whir and a 'bing' sound, then elevator doors parting.
  88. Rasia wiggles an ear, turning her head and hunching.
  89. <Darkling> Being greeted by Lit, is a woman standing near 5'9". Deep crimson hair pulled back tight in a pony tail frames her face, along with square, almost non-existent glasses. Her frame is strong, and flattering to say the least. She smiles seeing Wil.
  90. Rasia narrows her eyes.
  91. <Darkling> "I'm very sorry to have to visit at this time," she says, approaching him with notable bounce in her step, "but I had to be sure the trip did not bother you."
  92. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...Dr. Freyja." Pleased to see a familiar face his poker face cracks briefly, but damn that monotone never changes. "The trip was fine."
  93. <Darkling> "Excellent. Care to speak in private?" She notes Rasia on the couch, her large doe eyes fixating her for a brief moment.
  94. Rasia returns the favor, though less 'doe' and more 'tiger'.
  95. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He looks too, eyes cold. "...sure."
  96. <Darkling> She leads him down the hall, and to his room, shutting the door behind them.
  97. <Darkling> Lit takes a seat across from Rasia. "How do you like him?"
  98. <Darkling> A quiet murmer can be heard down the hall.
  99. Rasia growls, low and soft, staring at the doorway hard. She wants to know. 'I hate him'
  100. <Darkling> "Hate is a strong word fraulein."
  101. Rasia finally manages to tear her gaze away, focusing on Lit. 'I do not trust him, he does not like me'
  102. <Darkling> Lit gives a shrug. "You will grow on each other. I still have your nibble marks from out first meeting."
  103. Rasia doesn't seem amused. She hunches again, chewing on her mouthguard.
  104. <Darkling> "Are you hungry? It has been a long day."
  105. <Rasia> She perks up, despite herself.
  106. <Darkling> He grins in response. "I think you are."
  107. <Darkling> He gets off the couch, big frame striding slowly to the kitchen. "I had them stock your favourites, of course."
  108. Rasia turns about, leaning on the couch's back, eager and attentive. Food...
  109. <Darkling> The stainless steel fridge swings open, smells swarming the air. He bends over, removes a package, and slaps down a package of thick juicy steaks.
  110. Rasia growls, jumping over the couch and joining him in the kitchen. Adding to the pile, a loaf of bread and slices of cheese, so on.
  111. <Darkling> An electric grill turns on, simulated flames under it. Two of the steaks drop on, he holds a third one up in the air and looks at her.
  112. <Rasia> She freezes, staring at it, and finally nods.
  113. <Darkling> Wil's door down the hall swings open, the Doctor's heels can be heard clicking on the marble tile, followed by the sizzle of the steak meeting the grill.
  114. Rasia snaps her attention away, adopting a defensive posture.
  115. <Darkling> With barely a nod or a glance, she enters the elevator, and the doors snap shut behind her.
  116. <Darkling> "Such a lovely, robust woman, no?" Lit says, a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
  117. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wil exits the room a few moments later, running a hand through his hair and smoothing it down for a second time.
  118. Rasia pulls her scarf up, more out of habit than need to adjust it.
  119. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." His gaze moves to the kitchen. He doesn't approach though, taking a seat on the couch instead.
  120. <Darkling> "Will the little man be joining us for a meal?"
  121. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sniffs at the air. "..." He stands up, coming to the edge of the kitchen area.
  122. <Darkling> He flips the steaks, the apartment filling with the sound of sizzling fat.
  123. <Darkling> With his other hand, he places a pan on the grill, filling it with mushrooms and onions.
  124. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He watches Rasia from the corner of his eye.
  125. <Rasia> She seems content to make food, with startling dexterity despite the mittens on her hands.
  126. <Darkling> Some light seasoning spreads over the steaks, but not enough to overpower the meat.
  127. <Darkling> And then moments later he flips them onto plates, oh look, they're black too. The onions and mushrooms garner his plate, he leaves the children to garnish their own accordingly.
  128. Rasia fills her plate with an impossible amount of food, before approaching Lit to have her restraints taken off.
  129. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The steak is apparently more than enough as he takes a seat, watching Lit and Rasia.
  130. <Darkling> With a flick of his fingers the guard comes off.
  131. <Darkling> "Das abendessen wird serviert."
  132. <Rasia> Her scarf comes down. The metal, rubber and plastic covering the lower half of her face hangs loose. With a wet noise, she pulls it free and sets the whole assembly aside, opening her mouth so wide it pops. "Ngh..."
  133. <Rasia> Those are some...extremely sharp teeth.
  134. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He eyes the restraint where it rests, then looks to Rasia. Finally he looks to Lit.
  135. <Darkling> "Don't let it get cold." He moves to a seat, and begins to eat.
  136. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He looks down to the steak and cuts in.
  137. Rasia drops into her chair, pulling her mittens off and digging in. She looks positively content stuffing her face full of steak, bread and cheese...so much so she drools, saliva red with juices. No wonder the girl had a napkin in her lap.
  138. <Wilhelm_Faustus> What hell was he getting into? The mittens off he tries to get a look at her hands, eating slowly, chewing thoroughly.
  139. <Rasia> They look like regular hands, at least. No claws.
  140. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A snort and he focuses a bit more on eating.
  141. <Darkling> At least the food had colour amongst all the unlively world inside the Dome.
  142. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He makes it through maybe half the steak before he hits the food wall, stuffed.
  143. <Rasia> Rasia, on the other hand, cleans her plate in about the same time, eyeing his plate warily.
  144. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "..." He sits forward, his plate sliding in her direction.
  145. <Darkling> Lit grins, despite himself, juices oozing in his beard.
  146. Rasia descends on his plate with the same ferocity, pausing only long enough to look at him, reading for any sign of trickery.
  147. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Nothing Rasia. That same damn look.
  148. Rasia eats heartily, but never takes his eyes off him. A bead of saliva falls of her chin.
  149. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ."
  150. <Darkling> "Finish up then, I'll clean. It is late, and we've much to do tomorrow, so get your rest." He lifts his great weight off the couch and moves sluggishly to do as he said.
  151. <Rasia> Unrestrained, she escapes to her room, carrying her mouthguard and closing her door.
  152. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Siiigh.
  153. <Darkling> ==End==
  154.
  155. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I'm going out." With that single announcement the elevator doors close and it starts its descent to the lobby.
  156. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His glasses get an adjustment as he stares at himself in the steel doors, hands slipping into his pockets. Getting out of that oppressive atmosphere was a must. They were aware of it, weren't they? Was it a social experiment, or a way to keep that girl subdued?
  157. <Darkling> It's a shame the elevator had the feel of a steel coffin then.
  158. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." It can't reach the lobby fast enough.
  159. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The moment the doors start to part he's on his way out, a hand reaching up to smooth back his hair.
  160. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Once hes crossed the street he turns around to get a better look at the building. His brief examination early wasn't quite enough. Even its simple form was like some depressing steel coffin, waiting with its cold embrace to suck the life out of you. ". . ."
  161. <Mr_Rage> It's a good thing that girl seemed to have so much of it.
  162. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Indeed. Though of her prompts a paranoid check over each shoulder.
  163. <Wilhelm_Faustus> thought*
  164. <Mr_Rage> No sign.
  165. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Well...good then. A break wouldn't kill him, not the Old Men will find out. He turns away from the building and starts walking. He has an idea of where he plans to go, but isn't in much of a hurry right now.
  166. <Darkling> As he makes his way through the city, a few shadows follow behind.
  167. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A look over his shoulder now and again in hopes of spotting them.
  168. <Darkling> They're never quite in his view. Simply shadows among other shadows.
  169. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Just something he'd have to get used to. He rolls his shoulders and keeps looking ahead, occasionally scanning over the people. So many of them in one space.
  170. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Well, he wasn't here for any of them, was he? A snort, and a dismissive look for those that tried to make eye contact.
  171. <Wilhelm_Faustus> After weaving through the buildings and crowds he arrives in the regions shopping district, looking up at a sign and through the front window. Books. Excellent. His hands slip into his pockets and he steps inside.
  172. <Darkling> The shops is a small, drab concrete building, just the same as everything in the dome, but the neon sign ins a nice tough. The smells of leather and smoke assault him upon entering.
  173. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He peers around, mainly for the source of the smoke.
  174. <Darkling> The shopkeep, sits at the counter, reading through the local dome's paper, the Rök. a thin cigar rests between the fingers of his hands. He pays no attention to Wilhelm.
  175. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Smoking in a book store. It'll cling to the pages. He turns away and stalks down the rows until he finds books on the sciences.
  176. <Darkling> Everything on the main floor appears to be fictional books surviving the Second Impact, a sign points to the upper floor for school texts and the sort.
  177. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Up the stairs!
  178. <Darkling> Looks like most the books here are going to be disappointing. School textbooks galore, but nothing too inspiring.
  179. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...fuck." He looks along the shelves anyhow, should he somehow be lucky. The through causes a snort.
  180. <Darkling> Some texts on theories about the Black Moon, giant spinning cylinders in space for interstellar travel, how to make your own flamethrower...
  181. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ...make your own flamethrower? He pulls the book down.
  182. <Darkling> Sadly, the book is just it's binding, all the pages are missing.
  183. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Who the hell spells this? He throws it on the floor, reaching for one of the texts on the Black Moon.
  184. <Wilhelm_Faustus> sells this*
  185. <Darkling> Seems to be some professors theories about the Black Moon, and how it's not actually a moon at all, but a living entity. Ah, you recognize his name. He was highly known for fraudulent claims and faking his proofs.
  186. <Wilhelm_Faustus> What the hell is with this bookstore? He bristles.
  187. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He marches out of the store, determined to find another one.
  188. <Darkling> Rain meets him outside.
  189. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." Oh yes...he looks miserable now.
  190. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Hands slipping into his pockets he starts the walk back to the building, looking up just enough to glare at anyone that gets in his way.
  191. <Darkling> Just as he turns the corner to their apartment, the rain lets up, dome sprinklers shutting off.
  192. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He looks up with a 'Fuck you too.' expression for the dome. Later, the elevator doors open to reveal a soggy, miserable aryan boy.
  193. <Mr_Rage> Rasia jerks to look at him, head canting to one side at the sight and smell of him.
  194. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He steps in, waiting for the elevator to close behind him. A hand runs through his hair, a fresh sheet of water rolling down his neck and back.
  195. <Mr_Rage> Her nose scrunches, gaze intense. It's like she's trying to read your organs, Wilhelm.
  196. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...what?" His voice hisses out, looking form over the top of his glasses.
  197. <Mr_Rage> That sours her expression. She signs 'crying'...or maybe it's 'shower'. Hard to tell with her sitting sideways.
  198. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ."
  199. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...there should be a warning." He mutters, unbuttoning his shirt as he walks.
  200. <Darkling> Lit walks past briefly, heading for the bathroom. "There is a book for you. Doctor Freyja stopped by while you were gone." The book sits on the edge of the counter nearby.
  201. <Mr_Rage> ...Did she, did she giggle? She certainly never looked away, Wil.
  202. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stops, looking back to her in the middle of undoing his last button.
  203. <Mr_Rage> And she meets the gaze, glaring softly.
  204. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The last button comes loose and he shrugs off the soggy shirt as he approaches the counter. Not very strong, uniformly fair skin thats pale and smooth. A few scars along his arms from IVs and syringes.
  205. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He picks up the book Lit and mentioned.
  206. <Mr_Rage> Adjusting her scarf, she moves to resume pretending to ignore him, curling up on the couch.
  207. <Darkling> A thin book, maybe 100 pages total, on theoretical physics. Seems a note and picture is taped inside.
  208. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He opens the cover to check the note.
  209. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He closes the book, looking slightly less miserable. Now he needs Lit out of the bathroom so he can shower. So he flops down in one of the recliners.
  210. <Mr_Rage> Rasia perks up, giving him a look.
  211. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He looks to her, expression blank.
  212. <Mr_Rage> A staring contest for the ages.
  213. <Wilhelm_Faustus> After a few moments he looks away. Clearly hes acknowledging Rasia is the Alpha in this room. His gaze moves to the television.
  214. <Darkling> A flush echos down the hall, followed by some cussing, and the sounds of a plunger.
  215. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His eye twitches.
  216. <Darkling> The door opens, and closes, Lit coming into the living room, he looks at Rasia and Wil.
  217. <Mr_Rage> Even Rasia looks a little perturbed. She hides her nose in the pillow.
  218. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ."
  219. <Darkling> He sits down in the recliner opposite Wil without a word.
  220. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He glances toward the bathroom.
  221. <Mr_Rage> ...Well. He did share a steak. Rasia lifts her head and signs to Lit 'he can use mine' ... 'once' ... 'don't mess anything up' She still doesn't look totally sure about the idea.
  222. <Darkling> Lit nods, and looks to Wil. "You can use hers this once, but don't touch anything."
  223. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...right." He book is set on the coffee table and he stands. "... ... ...thanks."
  224. <Mr_Rage> She doesn't make any sign of receiving the thank you, other than to stop glaring and keep covering her nose.
  225. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Off to shower! But really...how much can this girl have?
  226. <Mr_Rage> Nnnnot much. An abrasive-looking bar of soap, a bottle of shampoo. Certainly a far cry from the frilly, perfumed showers a girl her age should be having.
  227. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." Is this a feeling of...pity? Bah.
  228. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He starts the shower and steps in. ... ... ... ...
  229. <Darkling> Lit looks to Rasia, the book, then to the television.
  230. <Darkling> "Still hating him?"
  231. * Rasia scowls, sitting up properly. All she has to do is nod.
  232. <Wilhelm_Faustus> The water turns off. Door opens, closes. Footsteps, another door closes.
  233. <Darkling> "I think maybe you do not."
  234. Rasia growls, a rare thing for Lit. Recently, anyway.
  235. <Darkling> He smirks through his beard and looks back to the television again, what was she watching?
  236. <Rasia> Given her habits of just turning it on for noise, probably the news.
  237. Rasia scrunches her nose, clambering over the couch and approaching the book. If it came from Her...
  238. <Darkling> It smells of flowers. How nice.
  239. Wilhelm_Faustus comes out of his room in a change of clothes. Its all white. The pants, t-shirt and even sneakers.
  240. Rasia flips it open. Contrary to popular opinion, she does know how to read.
  241. Rasia closes it. Boring. She returns to the couch, pausing long enough to look at Wilhelm.
  242. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A hand through his hair to smooth it into place, slicked back.
  243. <Rasia> "Tch."
  244. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ."
  245. <Darkling> Lit appears to have dozed off.
  246. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sits back down in the recliner, looking to Rasia.
  247. Rasia looks back at him, freezing in place.
  248. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...thanks again." His voice is soft, maybe because Lit is snoozing?
  249. <Rasia> ...A small, 'quiet' nod.
  250. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His gaze lingers a little longer, then he snatches up the book and starts reading.
  251. Rasia snorts, still not completely used to this 'being ignored' thing.
  252. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Every so often he turns a page.
  253. Rasia slinks off the couch, bare feet nearly silent as she crawls.
  254. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "..." Turns a page.
  255. <Rasia> ...She's not in your peripheral, Wil.
  256. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Hrn." Off to do who knows what, no doubt. He keeps reading.
  257. <Rasia> One... two... three-- A hell of a force assaults Wilhelm from behind, more than enough to push him off the chair, gloved fingers scratching at his back and shoulder. "Ragh!"
  258. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He ends up falling forward right out of the chair, book caught under him. "G-gah! What the fuck?!"
  259. <Rasia> To her credit, her scarf is still on. Not that that makes the swipes and swats hurt less. She backs off enough to let Wil get his bearings, but still pretty clearly eager to fight.
  260. <Darkling> "Snrk~" is the only sound from Lit as his head sways back, still sound asleep.
  261. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His brow furrows as he gets enough room to flip over, eyeing her. "...what the hell was that about?"
  262. <Rasia> And she's back at it. Messing up his hair, pulling his clothes, scratching his face (weakly). Thus far she seems...unsatisfied with the reaction.
  263. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He tries to grab at her wrists, finally irritated.
  264. <Rasia> Guh, if anything that makes her fiercer about it, but she growls, bumping heads and pushing him around.
  265. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He grits his teeth. He isn't going to take this crap! He starts to fight back.
  266. <Rasia> A firm crack of her head opens a bruise on Wilhelm's shoulder, but the wrestling is more involved. Less harassing, more genuine fighting. She kicks the coffee table out of their way.
  267. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He tries to press in and take the advantage, but hes not much of a physical fighter.
  268. <Rasia> Of course with her stamina alone, this fight was decided before it began. When the fight's all gone out of the Aryan, she backs off, sweating more profusely but barely breathing hard.
  269. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He lays there, staring up at the ceiling. What the hell was that even about? He was understanding this girl less and less.
  270. Rasia watches him, evaluating, judging. He did fight...but he sucks...
  271. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He sits up, grabbing for his glasses. They'd fallen off at some point, frame bent.
  272. Rasia grunts, returning to the couch. We'll have to try again when Lit isn't here...
  273. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He stands, looking to Rasia, still mystified about what that was all about. Wrestling with her had been a lesson in humiliation but...it wasn't all bad.
  274. Rasia stares at him, glancing back at their guardian...
  275. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His eyes narrow ever so slightly. He considers what he knows of her, and what just happened. "...trying to assert your dominance?"
  276. <Rasia> Her throat rumbles, ambivalent.
  277. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...do you speak, or just grunt?" His head tips back ever so slightly.
  278. Rasia scowls, tapping the device under her scarf.
  279. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...then take it off." He approaches, his intent obvious.
  280. Rasia jerks away, growling, back against the couch.
  281. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He frowns. "You're not some animal, you shouldn't have to grunt and growl to communicate." He reaches out again.
  282. <Rasia> Her glare is intense, but she doesn't move, every muscle tightening. ...That's a lot of muscle, once you see past the fat.
  283. <Wilhelm_Faustus> His fingers clumsily seek out the release. He didn't actually know where it is. He has to get in close and actually look at the restraint.
  284. <Rasia> She's...rather patient. She keeps looking over at Lit, looking for the slightest hint of 'no', until it's completely off. Her lips shine with sweat and saliva, trapped.
  285. <Wilhelm_Faustus> There! He pulls and releases it.
  286. Rasia sits in silence, wiping her mouth on her sleeve.
  287. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He takes a step back, eyeing her.
  288. <Rasia> "...I can talk." Her voice croaks, growls and cracks.
  289. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...good."
  290. <Wilhelm_Faustus> As if oddly satisfied he sits back down.
  291. Rasia frowns, the other half of all those intense stares he was getting.
  292. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...what?"
  293. <Rasia> She begins to sign, stopping halfway and croaking out, "Why?"
  294. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Why what?"
  295. <Rasia> "Take it off. Stupid." ...heh. She whistles her S's thanks to those teeth.
  296. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Stupid?" He lifts an eyebrow. "I'll have you know my I.Q. is...you don't really care, do you?"
  297. Rasia shakes her head, calmly.
  298. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...at least you're honest." He picks up his book.
  299. <Rasia> Another wiping of her mouth, and she begins to fidget. This felt strange, not having something immediate to do with her mouth.
  300. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Now and then he peers at her from his book.
  301. <Rasia> Eventually, she reaches for the mouthguard...
  302. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He's watching now.
  303. Rasia meets eyes, pulling it over gradually. "I'll just end up biting you."
  304. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...you sound so sure of that."
  305. <Rasia> "You're strange. I don't like you."
  306. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...is that so?"
  307. Rasia nods, her gaze hardening.
  308. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." He looks back to his book.
